Sheriff’s Office

— A deputy responded at 8:31 p.m. Wednesday to a state Route 14 address in Unity Township for a domestic dispute, taking Kayla Marie Grubb, 26, state Route 14, East Palestine, into custody for domestic violence. Grubb appeared for arraignment in Columbiana County Municipal Court and is scheduled to face a pretrial on Sept. 25.

— A man on East Liverpool Road, Madison Township, reported at 6:33 p.m. Sept. 10 that his relative, who is his neighbor, was walking the edge of the property line and is not to be on his property. A deputy checked the property and had no contact with the relative.

— A woman on Steubenville Pike Road, Wayne Township, requested a welfare check at 4:39 p.m. Sept. 10 on a relative on Sprucevale Road, Middleton Township, due to him allegedly having dementia. Deputies spoke with the man, who said he does not want the woman on his property or to have any contact with him. He appeared to be fine.

Patrol

— Anastasia Shaw, Blair Road in Salineville, was cited at 6:38 a.m. Sept. 9 for improper turn at an intersection in Wayne Township, after allegedly striking a vehicle driven by Jocelyn Parrish, of Hazel Run Road in Salineville, while turning from state Route 164 onto Glasgow Road.

— Brayden JM Lambertson, of Wilson Street in Salineville, was cited at 10:34 p.m. Sept. 4 for failure to control in Wayne Township, after allegedly driving off the southbound lane of state Route 164, striking a fence and ditch.

— Keith Clipse, of Chamberlain Street in Negley, was cited at 3:37 p.m. Sept. 6 for failure to control in Middleton Township, after striking a guardrail when going off the northbound lane of state Route 170.

— Montana Virden, of state Route 518 in Lisbon, was cited at 11:13 a.m. Sept. 14 for failure to control in Wayne Township, after crossing the center line on Route 518 and going off the left side of the road, striking an utility pole and landing in a corn field.

Leetonia

— Officers responded at 1:05 a.m. Sept. 17 to the area of Front and Chestnut to an alarm sounding. Thinking that it was a car alarm, officers instead backtracked it to a control panel off the Norfolk Southern radio frequency control panel. Unable to reach Norfolk, officers cleared after searching the area.

— Police investigated an attempted breaking and entering at 3:28 p.m. Sept. 13 at the Leetonia school football field bell tower. Discovering a broken out windowpane on the east side of the tower, apparently by a rock, the perpetrators left streaked handprints on the west side of the tower. No entry appeared to have been made and nothing appeared missing. The rocks and glass shards with fingerprints were gathered as evidence.

— Police investigated a report of a possible drunk driver at 7:24 p.m. Sept. 11 in an alley behind the 200 block of Ridge Street. Upon arrival and having run the possible license plate, the vehicle was gone from the scene and found nearby at a residence in the 300 block of Waddell Street.

Perry Township

— Officers responded to the 800 block of West Pidgeon Road at 6:10 p.m. Saturday for a report of an unresponsive man. The fire department and EMT transported the man.

— Officers responded to the 1100 block of Prospect Street at 3:43 p.m. Friday for a report of a possible domestic in progress. Officers spoke to the female half by phone who advised they were arguing with their sister on the phone and that no domestic had occurred. The woman would not provide her current location and advised that she was okay and didn’t need anything.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of Benton Road at 3:25 p.m. Friday for a reported assault. The caller advised that he was kicked while attempting to get groceries from near the trunk of his car. Officers were able to identify the person in question as William McMillen III, 41, Salem, who admitted to kicking the caller. Officers took a written statement from the caller and McMillen was taken into custody and transported to the Columbiana County Jail charged with assault.

— Officers responded to the 1800 block of Depot Road at 7 p.m. Sept. 11 for a reported domestic in progress. Officers spoke with all parties and found the incident to be a verbal altercation between brothers which began to escalate. The involved parties agreed to separate for the night.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Wisconsin Boulevard at 5:27 p.m. Sept. 11 for a report of a juvenile having a mental episode. They were transported by EMT.

— Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 1600 block of Depot Road at 1:24 p.m. Sept.10 for leaving the roadway. The driver, William Harvey Jr., 54, Salem, was found to have a suspended license and was cited for driving under suspension. The vehicle was towed by Kaiser Towing.

— Officers responded to the 1100 block of West Perry Street at 11:11 a.m. Sept. 10 for a reported neighbor dispute. When officers arrived, the involved parties had already separated, and they were advised not to have any further contact with each other.

— Zachery Kemmer, 25, Salem, was cited for assured clear distance ahead after his northbound vehicle on North Lincoln Avenue struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Tyler Thorn, 28, Salem, at 7:49 a.m. Sept. 8. No injuries were reported.

— Officers responded to the 1700 block of Harding Avenue at 2:04 a.m. Sept. 8 for a reported suspicious person. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate anyone.

— Officers responded to the 1700 block of Harding Avenue at 11:07 p.m. Sept. 7 for a noise complaint. Officers were unable to locate anyone in the area.

— Officers responded to the area of Goshen Road at 6:08 p.m. Sept. 7 to assist Goshen Township officers in locating juveniles that left the Sharon Lynn group home. Officers and Salem officers observed the juveniles and stood by until Goshen Township officers arrived.

— Officers spoke to a person by phone at 8:25 p.m. Wednesday who advised that they were being harassed by another man on Facebook Messenger. Officers were able to contact the other man and advised him not to contact the caller any further.

— Officers responded to the 1100 block of Highland Avenue at 6:17 p.m. Wednesday to deliver a message to a man to contact the Salineville Police Department.

— Officers responded to the Salem bus garage at 4:24 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a child who had nobody to pick them up from their bus stop in the 1100 block of Prospect Street. Officers were unable to contact or locate the child’s mother and a man who was listed on the school’s paperwork for the child responded and picked the child up.

— Kurt Whitman, 48, Lisbon, was cited for failure to yield after his vehicle struck the rear of a vehicle driven southbound on state Route 45 by Allison Wukotich, 44, Youngstown, while turning at 6:10 a.m. Wednesday.

— Officers responded to the Salem Police Department at 11:49 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a missing juvenile. Officers gathered information where they located the juvenile and returned him to his parents.

— Officers responded to the 1100 block of Prospect Street at 7:55 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a child walking around with no shoes or an adult. Officers checked the area but did not locate any juveniles without shoes.

— Officers responded to the 1100 block of West Perry Street at 3:05 p.m. Monday for a report of harassment. The caller advised that they have unreturned property from Rent-A-Center and collections has been becoming vulgar with her. She was advised that the property is a civil issue, and the company was advised of the complaint.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of Benton Road at 5:20 p.m. Sunday for a report of an irate woman. When officers arrived, the woman was lying in the grass because she was upset with her brother, and the woman was given a courtesy transport.

Salem

— Officers responded on the 2300 block of East State Street at 8:21 p.m. Friday for a reported of counterfeit money. The caller advised that they did not know who it was from, and officers advised them that if she finds any more to call back. The money will be placed in the department’s evidence.

— Officers responded to the 900 block of East Third Street at 7:48 p.m. Friday for a reported juvenile problem. The caller advised that five juvenile females from a group home in Goshen Township that were known to run away from the home were walking down the roadway. Officers located the juveniles and contacted the Goshen Township Police Department and learned that their dispatch was about to enter the juveniles into LEADS as missing. Goshen officers responded to the scene and transported the juveniles back to the home.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of Washington Avenue at 6:40 p.m. Friday for a reported dispute. The caller advised that her son was getting verbally aggressive with her, but he was gone when officers arrived. The son was then called to come and pick up his things and leave, and his officers stood by until both parties separated.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of East Second Street at 10:55 a.m. Friday for a wellness check. The caller advised that a woman was seen sitting in walker with her head down alone. Officers spoke with the woman who was observed to be fine and not in need of assistance.

— Officers responded to the area of Benton Road and West State Street at 9:51 a.m. Friday for a report of a possibly intoxicated driver. Officers located the vehicle parked at Dunkin Donuts and a woman walked towards the vehicle and asked why officers by her vehicle. When officers advised the woman of the complaint, she became defensive and stated she was not drunk and did not want to take any tests. Officers observed the woman to be jittery and moving erratically and asked if she needed any medical assistance which she denied. While speaking with the woman a man the woman knew offered to drive her home. The man drove the woman home, and her vehicle was left in the parking lot.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of North Howard Avenue at 9:02 a.m. Friday for a civil complaint. Officers were advised by the caller that their landlord had been harassing them and showed up unannounced. After speaking to the landlord, it was determined that they were attempting to make contact to ensure the tenant was aware that certain companies would be entering the residence to replace a hot water tank, and that they came to the residence to meet with the housing department to go over a complaint regarding the structure. Officers advised them that the main issue at hand was a civil matter and would need to be discussed at a later time after everybody had a chance to calm down.

— Officers responded to the 1200 block of Southeast Boulevard at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday for a speak with officer report. The caller advised that a person owes him money and is refusing to pay him back. Officers spoke with both parties involved and they were advised that the issue was civil in nature.

— Officers responded to the area of Jennings Avenue and West Fourth Street at 3 p.m. Tuesday for a reported suspicious person. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the person in question.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of East Euclid Street at 2:08 p.m. Tuesday for a report of accidental damage. A vehicle traveling through a lot struck some lines which pulled a pole away from a building causing damage to the building and employees reportedly told them not to drive the route they did due to the lines.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of North Broadway Avenue at 1:17 p.m. Tuesday for a report of criminal trespass. They were advised that a person who had been trespassed from the residence earlier that day had returned. Officers observed the person on the property and the person was detained. The caller advised that they wanted to pursue charges and the person, whose name was not listed, was taken into custody and transported to the Columbiana County Jail, and while at the jail they threatened officers and were advised they would face additional charges.

— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 11:55 a.m. Tuesday for a reported animal issue in the 300 block of Newgarden Avenue. The caller advised that one of the residents allows his dogs to run around off the leash and that the dogs are aggressive. Officers advised the man of the options for dealing with the situation. Officers will also contact the animal control officer to advise them of the situation.

— Officers responded to the 2800 block of East State Street at 11:47 a.m. Tuesday for a reported animal complaint. The caller advised a dog was left in a vehicle with all the windows slightly down for about ten minutes. Officers checked the area, but the vehicle had already departed.

— Patti Colon, 53, Leetonia, was cited for failure to yield after her vehicle struck a vehicle driven Eastbound on Mullins Street by Ricky Jones, 36, Salem, while exiting a private drive at 11:12 a.m. Tuesday. No injuries were reported.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of North Broadway Avenue at 9:47 a.m. Tuesday for a reported disorderly person. When officers arrived, the residents advised that he did not want the person in question there and requested they be trespassed. The person was issued a trespass warning and advised that he would be arrested if he returns.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of West Fifth Street at 6:35 a.m. Thursday for a reported 911 hang-up call. Officers spoke with the resident who advised that everything was okay.

— Officers responded to the 1900 block of East State Street at 1:21 a.m. Thursday for a report of a tractor trailer blocking the roadway. Officers were advised that the vehicle had run out of gas and once the vehicle was refueled the roadway was cleared.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 11:10 p.m. Wednesday for a report of theft. The caller advised that someone stole his PlayStation while he was at the store. Officers attempted to contact the neighbor due to them having a camera which faces the caller doorway, but they were not home. A follow-up investigation will be conducted.

— Officers responded to the 2000 block of Monroe Street at 8:23 p.m. Wednesday for a reported civil matter. The caller advised that they were staying with the resident and that they had kicked them out and taken all the groceries they had just purchased, and that two of the residents had active warrants out of Columbiana County. Officers advised them that the dispute was a civil matter and attempted to contact the individuals with warrants, but nobody answered the door.

— Officers responded to the 800 block of East School Road at 7:20 p.m. Wednesday for a speak with officer report. The caller advised that they were being harassed, and officers advised the person to stop contacting them. Officers also advised the caller to block the person’s number and to call back if the harassment persisted.

— Officers responded to the 700 block of South Lundy Avenue at 3:54 p.m. Wednesday for a report of criminal trespass in an abandoned house. The caller advised that three people had entered the residence before leaving in a maroon vehicle. Officers advised them to call back if they saw them return.

— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 2:49 p.m. Wednesday regarding an ex-boyfriend continuously reaching out to them despite being blocked on all social media.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of West Third Street at 1:20 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a man to be removed from a residence. When officers arrived, the caller advised that the man had left prior to their arrival and that they did not want them to return to the residence. Officers advised them to call back if the man returned.

— Officers responded to the 900 block of Morris Avenue at 12:53 p.m. Wednesday for a speak with officer complaint. The caller advised that they were concerned about a text their adult daughter’s ex-boyfriend had sent about her to the daughter’s friend. Officers advised them of their options.

— Officers responded to the 800 block of West State Street at 12:14 a.m. Wednesday to assist Perry Township officers with a runaway juvenile report. The juvenile and their friend were located and the juvenile transported to his residence while their friend was returned to their mother on scene.

— Officers responded to a residence in the 200 block of Woodland Avenue at 10:58 p.m. Tuesday to follow up on a previous incident regarding a no contact order violation. Officers found the person in question, John Peuterbaugh, Salem, at the residence, who was violating the terms of the order and took him into custody charged with violation of a protection order and transported him to the Columbiana County Jail.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of Park Avenue at 9:41 p.m. Tuesday for a wellness check on a person threatening self-harm. Officers spoke with the person, advising them that given the circumstances it would be in their best interest to seek medical assistance, and they agreed to be transported to the hospital by EMT for further evaluation.

— Officers responded to the 1900 block of East State Street at 7:48 p.m. Tuesday for a report of reckless operation. The caller advised that two motorcycles were doing wheelies and weaving in and out of traffic. Officers checked the area to the city’s western border but did not locate them.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of Park Avenue at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday for a reported wellness check on a person threatening self-harm. Officers spoke with several relatives finding that the person was not home and multiple agencies were contacted, and a BOLO was issued. Officers continued attempting to locate the person in question and were later notified by relatives that they had returned home. Officers responded back to the resident to speak with the person in question, advising them that given the circumstances it would be in their best interest to seek medical assistance, and they agreed to be transported to the hospital by EMT for further evaluation.

— Officers responded to the 1800 block of Maple Street at 4:53 p.m. Tuesday to assist Columbiana County Children’s Services. Officers provided a juvenile and the person in question with transportation to the 1000 block of Newgarden Avenue.
