— Officers responded to the 1900 block of East State Street at 12:49 a.m. Tuesday for a report of an armed person causing a scene in the hospital lobby. Officers located the people in question at a nearby business and advised them to keep away from the hospital. Officers then responded to the hospital to collect information and review the camera footage.
— Officers responded to a business in the 100 block of West State Street at 12:04 a.m. Tuesday for a report of threats being made. Officers collected information about the matter and provided all parties with statements to be completed.
— Officers responded to the 300 block of West State Street at 11:54 a.m. Tuesday for a reported fight in progress which allegedly involved a gun being brandished. When officers arrived all involved parties were separated, and officers spoke with a woman who was identified as the person with a firearm. She co-operated with commands, and the firearm was taken and cleared by officers. At least two men had engaged in a fight leading to one suffering lacerations to his upper and lower lip and a cracked tooth while the other man complained of a cut on his hand and a headache. Officers are awaiting written statements from all parties involved as several conflicting stories were given. The case is continuing.
— Officers responded to the 400 block of Franklin Street at 9:11 p.m. Monday for a report of a person allegedly assembling a firearm and making threats toward someone. Officers collected information about the matter and found that the person did not have a firearm and that they were instead airsoft guns and were allegedly not making threats. Officers further advised that the person in question stay away from the residence that was concerned.
— Officers responded to the 500 block of Euclid Street at 8:37 p.m. Monday for a reported reckless operator which was later found to be a form of harassment. Officers collected information about the matter and gave the caller a statement form to fill out and advised them that the matter would be sent to the prosecutor’s office for review.
— Officers responded to the 300 block of East Second Street at 6:38 p.m. Monday for a reported animal-at-large. The caller located a lost dog in the area and wanted assistance locating the owner. After it was determined that the animal control officer was out-of-town the caller was given the option of taking the dog down to kennels near the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office or posting the dog on social media to attempt to locate the owner. The caller chose to use social media and was advised to contact the department if further assistance was needed.
— Officers responded to the 400 block of Fair Avenue at 6:08 p.m. Monday for a reported custody dispute. Officers spoke with all parties involved and advised them of their legal options.
— Officers spoke with a person at the police department at 5:52 p.m. Monday regarding their juvenile’s other parent driving intoxicated with the children inside of a vehicle. Officers advised them of their options and to contact them immediately if there are any further issues.
— Officers responded to the 1000 block of Superior Avenue at 4:02 p.m. Monday for a reported parking complaint. Officers were advised that a vehicle had been parked for multiple days without moving and had been hooked up to the parks department’s electricity. Officers spoke with the owner, advising they could not do so and of park hours. She advised that she understood and that she would be leaving soon.
— Officers responded to the 1000 block of East Fourth Street at 1:23 p.m. Monday for a wellness check. Officers found the resident to be deceased, and the county coroner was notified and responded to the scene. Officers stood by until the scene was secured.
— Officers spoke to a person at the police department regarding a possible civil issue at 12:24 p.m. Monday. The caller advised officers of an incident, and officers advised them that since they live in Perry Township criminal charges would go through that department and they advised they understood.
— Officers responded to the 1000 block of the East Third Street at 10:36 a.m. Monday for a reported civil issue. Officers spoke with the person involved and advised them of the options for dealing with the situation.
