Sheriff’s Office
— Deputies were dispatched at 5:43 p.m. Tuesday to West Main Street, New Waterford, for a domestic violence report. One party involved left the residence.
— A Minerva man reported at 4:01 p.m. Tuesday that he needed a report, per his attorney, that he purchased a camper from a Vienna woman for $11,000 on Aug. 2 at Timashamie Campground, Georgetown Road, Butler Township, and now she’s refusing to turn over the title, stating that he owes her $4,000 more.
Columbiana
— A phone was found at 7:54 p.m. Aug. 3 at Discount Drug Mart.
— Macey Blair, of East Liverpool, was arrested at 8:15 p.m. Aug. 9 on an active felony warrant out of the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office.
— Anthony Martino, of Bethel Park, Pa., was arrested shortly after midnight Aug. 9 on a charge of underage consumption, after a traffic stop near state Route 14 and East Park Avenue.
— A vehicle belonging to an unidentified motorist with a suspended license was towed at 2:21 p.m. Aug. 7, after a traffic stop near state Route 14 and McCloskey Road.
— A Spruce Street resident reported at 12:10 p.m. being th victim of telecommunications harassment.
— Angel Lopez, of Salem, was cited at 2:42 p.m. Aug. 4 near North Main Street and Stanton Avenue for driving under suspension.
— Police responded at 8:56 p.m. Aug. 3 to a neighbor dispute in the 100 block of East Friend Street.
Leetonia
— The registered owner of a Chevy Silverado was contacted at 5:47 p.m. Aug. 16 and asked to move his vehicle, as it was blocking an alleyway off Walnut.
— Contact was made with two subjects parked in the auction barn lot at 3:53 p.m. Aug. 16, while their kids played in the splash pad. The driver David Harris not only was driving suspended but was wanted on an active warrant out of Trumbull County for a probation violation. Passenger Amanda Robinette also was suspended but had no warrants. There were no citations issued, as the officer hadn’t witnessed them actually operating the vehicle but could not if either of them drove away. It was decided that Amanda’s son was a valid driver with a temporary license and so it was released to him.
— Police accompanied EMS on a call at 9:53 p.m. Aug. 15 to village residence for a suicidal 12-year-old. The juvenile voluntarily went to Akron Children’s Hospital.
— A female subject reported at 7:39 a.m. Aug. 10 that she was walking her dog on Chestnut Street, when she was approached in an aggressive manner by four larger dogs, one looking like a pitbull. She sprayed the possible pit bull with mace and he lunged at her, eventually retreating south toward the railroad tracks due to her yelling. She wasn’t bitten. Officers were unable to locate the dogs.
— Police responded at 5:02 p.m. Aug. 17 to Cherry Valley Road for a woman having a panic attack. She ventrally agreed to go to Boardman hospital after EMS arrived.
— Teri Smith was issued a warning at 11:01 p.m. Aug. 10, after her two dogs attempted to charge an officer outside the police station. She was advised that in the future that she could be cited for dogs at large.
— Neighbors in the 700 block of Columbia Street filed reports against each other. First, an officer consulted at 3 p.m. Aug. 16 with a resident regarding trespassing his neighbors from his property. Then a few days later, a couple living next to him reported at 9:49 a.m. Aug. 18 that his neighbor ‘s disputes resulted from him, trying to “bully” the others, citing th example of blowing his lawn waste onto their properties. The female half of the couple expressed fear of this man.
Salem
— Officers responded to the 2300 block of Tanglewood Drive at 8:26 p.m. Sunday for a report of a man who was unconscious and not breathing. Officers stood by while the fire department provided medical care and then transported them to the Salem Regional Medical Center.
— Officers responded to the 300 block of Newgarden Avenue at 7:28 p.m. Sunday for a report of loud music. Officers advised them to turn the music down and they did so.
— Officers responded to the 100 block of West Third Street at 7:29 p.m. Sunday for a report of threats. The caller only knew the first name of the person in question but advised they would attempt to get a last name.
— Officers responded to the 200 block of West Eighth Street at 6:32 p.m. Sunday to a check for a man with an active warrant through the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office. Officers attempted to contact the person but were unable.
— Officers responded to the 1100 block of East Sixth Street at 6:28 p.m. Sunday to check on a suspicious vehicle. Officers spoke with the owner of the vehicle and everything checked okay.
— Officers responded to the 1200 block North Ellsworth Avenue at 5:43 p.m. Sunday for a reported 911 hang-up call from an iPhone crash alert. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate any accident.
— Officers responded to the 400 block of West School Street at 5:08 p.m. Sunday to check for a person with a warrant. Officers were unable to locate the person in question.
— Officers responded to the 400 block of West School Street at 4:50 p.m. Sunday for a possible protection order violation. Officers attempted to locate the man and were unable to locate the man.
— Officers responded to the 300 block of West State Street at 4:31 p.m. Sunday for a wellness check on a man walking. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate anyone in the area.
— Officers responded to the 500 block of East State Street at 2:49 p.m. Sunday for a warrant check. Officers spoke with a family member who advised the person in question was not there and let officer check inside the residence.
— Officers responded to the 100 block of East third Street at 11:31 a.m. Sunday for a report of fireworks. Contact was made with a resident, who was advised of the complaint and officers did not witness the violation.
— Officers responded to the 500 block of Continental Drive at 10:32 a.m. Sunday for a neighbor complaint. The caller advised that their neighbor had a camera outside that she thought was facing her door. Officers advised them that as long as it was not pointing into windows it was fined and that they had their own camera. Officers spoke with the neighbor who advised that there has been an ongoing issue and that the caller had filmed them multiple times while outside. Officers advised them that there is no right to privacy when one is outside in public but that there is a point where it could turn into harassment. Officers also advised the caller of the laws of filming people in public and that it could be viewed as harassment eventually and advised both that although they share a porch not to speak to each other and to try to avoid contact with each other.
— Officers responded to the 1900 block of East State Street at 4 a.m. Sunday for a report of a vehicle left on the property for over a month. Officers were able to locate the owner at a nursing home in town. Officers advised the hospital of the same and they advised that they would wait a few more days before towing the vehicle.
— Officers responded to the 900 block of Park Avenue at 3:48 a.m. Sunday for a wellness check. He advised that his neighbor left his garage door open for an unusual amount of time and wanted to make sure everything was okay. Officers then spoke with the homeowner who advised that everything was okay and that he just forgot.
— Officers on patrol in the 800 block of West State Street at 11:43 p.m. Saturday observed a man and woman yelling at each other. Both parties advised they were arguing but nothing physical occurred. They were advised to go home and left.
— Officers responded to the 200 block of North Lundy Avenue at 10:52 p.m. Saturday for a report of a suspicious woman acting strangely. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate anyone.
— Officers responded to the 100 block of East Ninth Street at 10:55 p.m. Saturday for a report of someone unscrewing a lightbulb on the caller’s porch. The caller just wanted an extra watch in the area of her residence.
— Officers responded to the 300 block of East Sixth Street at 10:11 p.m. Saturday for a reported suspicious vehicle. Officers located the vehicle in question and the driver advised that they were having car troubles. Officers followed the vehicle to their residence.
— Officers responded to the 1100 block of East Third Street at 9:37 p.m. Saturday for a report of a loud explosion. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate anything.
— Officers on patrol in the 2200 block of East State Street at 9:18 p.m. Saturday observed a driver with a suspended license. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and K-9 Fero was deployed and indicated to the presence of narcotic odor coming from the vehicle. Contraband was located in the vehicle and the driver, Bryon Potter, 40, Salem, was taken into custody charged with drug paraphernalia and driving under suspension and issued a summons.
— Officers responded to the 600 block of Continental Drive at 8:36 p.m. Saturday for a report of a woman wanting to harm herself. The fire department and EMT responded, and the woman was transported to the hospital.
— Officers responded to the 400 block of Woodland Avenue at 7:49 p.m. Saturday for a speak with officer report. The caller advised that a person was outside yelling. Officers spoke with the person, and they advised they were just yelling at her phone. She was advised to keep it down.
— Officers responded to the area of North Lundy Avenue and East State Street at 6:41 p.m. Saturday for a reported domestic in progress. The caller advised that a man was getting physical with a woman. Officers spoke with the woman who advised her boyfriend had run away to a business parking lot, and that he had pushed her into the side of a building. The man advised that he did push her but that she did not hit anything. Officers gathered a statement form from a witness and due to the woman being intoxicated asked her to come in the following day to fill out a statement form and all documents will be sent to the prosecutor’s office for review.
— Officers responded to the 300 block of East Third Street at 5:12 p.m. Saturday for a speak with officer complaint. The caller advised that her registration sticker was stolen off her vehicle. After observing it officers advised the caller that the sticker was still on the plate.
— Officers responded to the 200 block of Woodland Avenue at 3:53 p.m. Saturday for a reported verbal domestic. The caller advised that a man living at her residence was destroying items in the house and that he was being evicted and has until next Friday to move out. Officers advised them that they could not make him leave and spoke with the man who advised that the caller had destroyed everything in the house to start a fight with him. Officers advised both parties to stay away from each other until next Friday.
— Officers responded to the 2400 block of East State Street at 12:03 p.m. Saturday for a reported animal complaint. Officers were advised that there were two dogs inside a white van with the windows down. Officers checked the area and located a white van, but it had a person inside.
— Officers responded to the 2900 block of East State Street at 10:04 a.m. Saturday for a report of damage to a vehicle. The caller advised that while they were shopping in a local business several shopping carts struck her unoccupied vehicle. Officers checked in with the manager of the business and watched video showing one of the shopping cart return stations have multiple carts break through the cart stop and roll through the parking lot striking the caller’s vehicle. The manager advised that the company would pay for the damages.
— Officers responded to the 1000 block of East Sixth Street at 6:26 a.m. Saturday for a report of suspicious activity. The caller advised that while walking their dog they observed several people going through a roll-off dumpster in front of a residence. Officers located the dumpster but did not locate anyone in the area.
— Officers responded to the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 2:23 a.m. Saturday for a reported suspicious person. The caller advised that a woman had been in the area yelling and they were concerned for their safety. Officers checked the area but did not locate them.
— Officers responded to the 400 block of South Broadway Avenue at 2:02 a.m. Saturday for a reported person to be removed. Officers spoke with the person in question Kirstein Koran, 23, Alliance, who was trespassed from the property on Aug. 2 and took them into custody for criminal trespass and transported them to the police department for booking. She was then transported to the Columbiana County Jail.
