Sheriff Reports
— A man on Wisner Road, Hanover Township requested a report on file at 3:17 p.m. Wednesday, per his bank, that $2,000 was withdrawn from his bank account without his consent.
— A representative of Southern Local Little Indians, state Route 39, Washington Township, reported at 3:08 p.m. Wednesday that an ex-player’s father from Midland, Pa. called and was harassing the league over a coach.
— An unruly juvenile was reported at 11:25 p.m. Tuesday on Salem Unity Road, Salem Township. A family member arrived and the juvenile went with them for the night.
— A deputy was dispatched at 10:51 p.m. Tuesday to Wheathill Road, Unity Township, for some type of disturbance of people yelling and screaming. The deputy spoke with multiple juveniles who was swimming in a swimming pool. There was no problem.
— A domestic was reported at 9:39 p.m. Tuesday at a Yates Road, Salem Township property. All parties separated and a refusal was signed.
— The owner of Twin Spring Golf Course, state Route 172, Hanover Township, reported at 6:40 p.m. Tuesday that he wanted some people trespassed from the property. A deputy spoke with a woman from Wellsville, two men from Lisbon, a man from Washingtonville and a man from Wellsville and they were all advised per the owner to not come back onto the property.
— A man on Church Hill Road, Elkrun Township, reported at 4:45 p.m. Tuesday that four to five people were trespassing on his property and he believed they were stealing tires. Prior to a deputy arriving, they took off into the woods. The deputy checked the property and area, but didn’t find anyone.
— Deputies were dispatched at 9:47 p.m. Saturday to a state Route 45, Center Township, property for a domestic violence report. The caller said neighbors were screaming outside the residence. Deputies spoke to a man and woman and the man was provided a courtesy ride to a family member’s residence in Lisbon. Lisbon Police assisted.
Leetonia
— Columbiana dispatch sent an officer at 4:33 p.m. July 24 to the 600 block of Columbia Street in order to investigate an 911 open line.
— An officer provided assistance at 5:13 p.m. July 24 at the Horizon Home for a possible combatant resident. EMS responded and transport her.
— Police responded at 11:23 a.m. July 26 to the vicinity of Columbia and Church for a two-vehicle crash involving Donald Eberle, who was cited for failure to maintain an assured clear distance, and David Runion, both of Leetonia.
— Cassie Ramsey, no address listed, was cited at 8:03 a.m. July 27 in the area of state Route 344 and Commerce Avenue for driving under suspension, after a traffic stop. Her passenger was a licensed driver out of Pennsylvania, so he was permitted to drive the vehicle.
— An officer did a standby at 5:24 p.m. July 27 as a landlord received the keys and paperwork from a former tenant in the 300 block of East High Street.
– Leetonia provide backup for the Columbiana County Sheriff shortly after midnight July 28 at a domestic dispute in the 300 block of West Main Street in Washingtonville.
— Ediel Johan Garcia, no address listed, was cited for speed and driving under suspension, after he was stopped going 61 mph in a 35 mph zone near state Route 344 and State Street at 5:29 a.m. July 29. He was provided a custody transport back to the station after his vehicle was towed.
— An Ohio Valley Waste garbage truck was reported at 7:46 a.m. July 29 to police after pulling down wires on Wilson Street and Columbia Street. The fire department was called to check the residence and resecure the wires.
Perry Township
–Officers responded to the 1200 block of Goshen Road at 8:13 p.m. Tuesday to assist the Goshen Township Police Department with locating a person who threw a rock through a window of a residence. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate anyone.
–Officers responded to the 1700 block of Goshen Road at 12:03 p.m. Tuesday for a reported missing juvenile. The caller advised that when they woke up their son was gone. While checking the area officers were advised that the juvenile was located at a family friend’s residence and was on his way back. Officers responded to the residence and confirmed the child was back safe.
–Officers responded to the 1100 block of West Perry Street at 8:05 a.m. Tuesday for a reported juvenile complaint. The caller advised that he viewed two juveniles on his ring camera while he was not home, and that one was asking for help. Officers checked the area and spoke with a neighbor, but the juveniles could not be located.
–Officers responded to the area of state Route 45 at 2:25 a.m. Tuesday for a reported reckless driver. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.
–Officers responded to the 1200 block of West State Street at 10:28 a.m. Monday for a reported parking issue. Officers attempted to contact the vehicle’s owner, but nobody was home, and officers left a note and a description of the complaint on the owner’s door.
–Officers spoke to a person by phone at 1600 block of Vanburen Avenue at 9:46 a.m. Monday regarding theft. The caller advised officers that a Cash App card was mailed to her which she never received. She contacted Cash App, and they informed the caller that the card was activated, and money was transferred from her account to another Cash App account. The matter is under investigation.
Salem
–Officers responded to the 1100 block of Maple Street at 10:02 a.m. Tuesday for a wellness check. Officers spoke with the mother of the juvenile in question who advised that there was possibly an issue in Lisbon, but it was being looked into.
–Officers responded to the area of North Ellsworth Avenue and East Fourth Street at 9:44 a.m. Tuesday for a wellness check. Officers spoke with the person, who appeared normal, and officers advised them of the complaint and to leave the area. –The police chief responded to the 900 block of East Perry Street at 9:34 a.m. Tuesday to assist the Housing Inspector with condemning a residence. Two individuals were located at the residence and were advised that they were only permitted in the residence to remove personal belongings. One of the occupants was visiting and advised not to be on the property and the resident had removed most of his belongings and was offered treatment services.
–Officers responded to the 2500 block of Bentley Drive at 6:29 a.m. Tuesday for a reported medical call. Officers assisted the fire department and EMT with getting the patient transferred to a local hospital for further evaluation.
–Officers responded to the 200 block of Hawley Avenue at 2:45 a.m. Thursday to assist Goshen Township Officers with an investigation. Officers spoke with the homeowner, who advised that they had not seen the person in question in over a year.
–Officers responded to the lot of the police department at 12:55 a.m. Thursday for a report of abduction that occurred outside of the city’s jurisdiction. The caller advised he located a woman at the intersection of state Route 183 and state Route 172 in New Franklin that claimed they were abducted from Canton. After speaking with the woman officers were advised that she had been taken from an apartment complex by a man and woman but could not describe them at all nor the vehicle’s make or model. She also advised that the man carried a gun and that she suffered no injuries but had her shoes taken. Officers contacted the Canton Police Department who advised that the woman would need to come to their department to file a report and the woman was transported to Alliance to catch a bus to Canton in the early morning.
