Salem

–Officers responded to the 300 block of Newgarden Avenue at 9:24 p.m. Sunday for a reported neighbor dispute. Officers resolved the matter, and disorderly warnings were given for the night.

–Officers responded to the 500 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 7:51 p.m. Sunday to assist the fire department with a downed power line. Officers directed traffic until the line was re-attached.

–Officers responded to a business in the 2800 block of East State Street for a report of a theft that occurred on July 22. Officers were advised that a person has walked out for $1158 worth of merchandise and officers collected statements and video footage, and the matter will be investigated to see if the person can be identified.

–Officers responded to the 1100 block of Cleveland Street at 5:32 p.m. Sunday for a reported 911 hang up call. Offices checked the area and residents advised that there were no issues.

–Officers responded to the 300 block of Newgarden Avenue at 3:54 p.m. Sunday for a speak with officer report. The caller advised that he had a crossbow he wanted officers to destroy. Officers took possession of the item and destroyed it.

–Officers spoke to a person at the police department regarding a neighbor dispute at 3:46 p.m. Sunday. They were given options on how to handle the issue and how to record any evidence.

–Officers on patrol in the area of North Ellsworth Avenue and East Fourth Street at 9:46 a.m. Sunday observed a woman with an active warrant out of the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office. Officers confirmed the warrant and took the woman, Tricia Watson, 41, Salem, into custody and transported them to the Columbiana County Jail.

–Officers assisted Perry Township Officers with an OVI arrest at the police department at 4:08 a.m. Sunday. Officers stood by while Perry Township Officers did their paperwork and conducted the test.

–Officers took a report of theft at the police department at 3:24 a.m. Sunday. The caller advised that during a large bar fight her wallet was taken from her purse and $200 and her Cash App card were missing when it was located. They had already locked their card and reported it stolen and requested video footage from inside the bar. Officers advised her to contact them if the card registered any attempted uses.

–Officers responded to the 400 block of South Ellsworth Avenue at 3:11 a.m. Sunday for a report of stalking. Information was gathered about the matter and the caller was advised to block the person and contact officers if the matter persisted.

–Officers responded to the 600 block of South Union Avenue at 2:23 a.m. Sunday for a reported domestic dispute. Officers spoke with both parties and the caller advised that the other person woke them up while sleeping and began yelling at her for no reason. The person went into the garage and began yelling and screaming and breaking things while inside. Nothing physical was reported between the two and a friend of the caller’s came and picked him up for the remainder of the evening.

–Officers responded to a business in the 400 block of South Broadway Avenue at 1:57 a.m. Sunday for a reported fight. Everyone left prior to the officers’ arrival but one of the involved parties was stopped and spoken to, and officers found that they had been attacked but didn’t know by who and did not want to pursue charges. After being evaluated and cleared by medical staff they were released and officers returned to the bar to collect more information with the only information found being a separate incident of theft that had occurred.

–Officers responded to the 300 block of Newgarden Avenue at 10:21 p.m. Saturday for a reported noise complaint. Contact was made with residents playing music and they were advised to shut it down for the night.

–Officers responded to the 200 block of East State Street at 9:23 p.m. Saturday for a report of suspicious activity. The caller advised that he had found the rear door to his location open. Officers checked the interior but found nobody inside. The caller, who works for the building owner secured the door.

–Officers responded to the 400 block of South Ellsworth Avenue at 9:03 p.m. Saturday for a reported civil matter. The caller advised that when she went to get her belongings from her previous residence there was a dispute over a mini fridge. She was advised that based on the living situation and time she would have to go through civil court to argue for possession of the fridge.

–Officers responded to the 1500 block of Southeast Boulevard at 8:14 p.m. Saturday for a reported scam caller which obtained $5,000 for the purchase of a vehicle from a dealership in Alliance that does not exist. Officers advised them to terminate their cards immediately and to advise her bank that a report would be on file if needed for a refund. The person was further advised to contact the Alliance Police Department for further information if needed.

–Officers responded to the 900 block of East State Street at 7:11 p.m. Saturday for a reported drive off. An unknown man pumped $5 of gas and then failed to render payment for it. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.

–Officers responded to the 1100 block of Cleveland Street at 6:55 p.m. Saturday for a reported domestic issue. Officers spoke with the person who claimed to have been assaulted by the other half. Officers collected information about the matter and advised them to contact officers immediately if the other half returns so that they were present and could solve the matter.

–Officers responded to the 400 block of Woodland Avenue at 6:48 p.m. Saturday for a reported domestic dispute. Officers observed the involved parties arguing outside and they were separated, and it was determined that the argument was over a bucket of candy which was turned over to one half and all parties separated for the evening with nothing physical reported.

–Officers responded to the 2300 block of East State Street at 4:50 p.m. Saturday for a report of suspicious activity. The caller advised that there was a man walking around with his pants down. Officers spoke with the person, who advised his pants fell down to an issue with his bult but he did not expose himself. Officers spoke with another person standing outside who advised that the did not see the incident occur, and the man was advised to leave the area.

–Officers responded to the area of South Lundy Avenue and East Euclid Street at 4:16 p.m. Saturday for a reported limb down in the roadway. Officers requested the street department respond to clear the roadway.

–Officers responded to the 600 block of South Union Avenue at 3:49 p.m. Saturday for a reported domestic dispute. Officers spoke with both sides and learned a verbal dispute occurred but nothing physical was reported. Both sides were advised to keep their distance until they could be civil.

–Officers responded to the 800 block of Superior Avenue at 9:25 a.m. Saturday for a reported person to be removed. The caller advised that she wanted her adult daughter trespassed from the property, and officers advised the daughter of the same. A trespass form was filled out and signed by both of the people involved. The daughter then left the area.

–Officers responded to the 700 block of Arch Street at 6:47 a.m. Saturday for a reported theft. The caller advised that someone unknown had entered his vehicle and taken two inflatable paddle boards. Officers advised the caller of the options for dealing with the situation.

–Officers responded to the 100 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 12:33 a.m. Saturday for a reported suspicious person. Officers found a person who was likely intoxicated sleeping outside of the Flying Pig Saloon. Officers spoke with the person and gave them a courtesy transport to their hotel.

–Officers responded to the 2800 block of East State Street at 11:31 p.m. Friday for a reported suspicious vehicle parked in a handicap spot. Officers observed the vehicle’s owner, who had just finished shopping, scrolling through Facebook on her phone.

–Officers responded to the 300 block of Newgarden Avenue at 11:13 p.m. Friday for a report of kids playing in the street. Officers found that this was not the case, and they were just playing in their yard.

–Officers responded to the 1600 block of Fairview Avenue at 8:24 p.m. Friday for a reported 911 hang-up call. Officers spoke with residents, and everything appeared to be okay.

–Officers responded to the 100 block of West Seventh Street at 7:26 p.m. Friday for a report of graffiti being spray painted on the side of a garage. Officers collected information and pictures and placed an extra watch in the area.

–Officers responded to the 100 block of West State Street at 7:04 p.m. Friday to assist the Mahoning valley Human Trafficking Task Force with an alleged sex offense. Officers placed the person involved into custody and $80 was seized and placed into evidence and the person was released with a court summons.

–Officers responded to the 2400 block of East State Street at 4:40 p.m. Friday for a reported two vehicle accident on private property. Officers spoke with both of the people involved who advised that they didn’t want a report due to the lack of damage.

–Officers responded to the area of East State Street at 3:03 p.m. Friday for a reported road rage incident. The caller advised that a vehicle had been following theirs throughout the city and officers were unable to locate the vehicle in question.

–Officers responded to the 600 block of West Seventh Street at 2:50 p.m. Friday to speak with an officer about a property issue. Officers advised them of some options for dealing with the situation.

–Officers responded to the 400 block of East Third Street at 5:38 a.m. Monday for a reported juvenile problem. The caller wanted officers to speak with their daughter about her sneaking out of the house and the potential consequences were explained.

–Officers responded to the 200 block of Continental Drive at 5:09 a.m. Monday for a reported 911 hang-up-call. Officers spoke with a nurse who advised that nobody by the caller’s name was there.

–Officers responded to the 500 block of Aetna Street at 1:23 a.m. Monday for a reported 911 hang-up-call. Officers spoke with the resident who advised they were OK and were unaware they had called.

–Officers responded to the 200 block of Jennings Avenue at 9:51 p.m. Monday for a report of a transformer sparking. Officers checked the area but did not observe any issues.

–Officers responded to the 1100 block of Maple Street at 8:43 p.m. Monday for a wellness check. Officers spoke with a family member at the residence who advised the person in question was at Akron Children’s Hospital.

–Officers responded to the 800 block of East State Street at 8:03 p.m. Monday for a report of telecommunications harassment. The caller advised that an unknown man had called his phone and made unsettling comments. Officers called the man who advised he was messing around and did not mean anything by it, and officers advised him not to the contact the caller again.

Salem

–Officers responded to the 100 block of East State Street at 7:17 p.m. Monday for a reported reckless operator. Officers located and followed the vehicle in question all the way to their residence but observed no violations.

–Officers responded to the 900 block of Barclay Avenue at 6:35 p.m. Monday for a wellness check. Officers spoke with the woman in question whoa advised that everything was OK.

–Officers responded to the 900 block of East Fifth Street at 5:03 p.m. Monday for a public assist. Officers stood by while the caller retrieved his personal belongings from the residence.

–Officers responded to the 700 block of South Union Avenue at 4:52 p.m. Monday for a reported medical call. Officers found that the caller was having a possible medical emergency, and the fire department responded to assess the man. The man was transported to an appropriate medical facility for further evaluation.

–Officers responded to the 2300 block of East State Street at 1:01 p.m. Monday for a report of a dog left in a vehicle. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate it and a bystander advised that the vehicle had left prior to officers’ arrival.
