East Palestine

— Officers observed at 8:27 p.m. on Monday a juvenile riding a gas-powered bike on East Taggart Street and advised him not to ride the bike in town. The juvenile then walked the bike back to his residence.

— Officers responded at 7:16 p.m. Monday to reports of a reckless driver speeding in town. Officers located the vehicle and followed it out of town without witnessing reckless driving or speed.

— Officers responded at 4:16 p.m. to North Market Street on Monday for a traffic complaint involving mini-bikes on the roadway. Officers were unable to locate any bikes.

— Officers responded at 5:30 p.m. to an on-station complaint of telecommunications harassment on Monday.

— Officers responded at 5:36 p.m. to back up a sheriff deputy at the Dollar Store on state Route 14 for a male acting unusual on Sunday.

— Officers responded at 3:47 p.m. to West Main Street on Sunday to a report of someone wanting a person removed from their property who was living there. Officers advised of the eviction process.

— Officers responded at 2:56 p.m. on Sunday regarding a domestic complaint on McClure Avenue.

— Officers responded at 1:39 to two residents on East North Avenue on Sunday for a zoning violation involving junk vehicles. A notice will be sent to the owner of the vehicles.

— Officers responded at 1:38 p.m. to East Clark Street on Sunday for a zoning violation involving a junk vehicle. A notice will be sent to the owner of the vehicle.

— Officers responded at 7:20 a.m. on Sunday to Garfield Street to a report of an unresponsive woman. Officers performed CPR until EMS arrived and attempted several life-saving efforts. The female was declared deceased a short time after.

— Officers cited Christopher Slasor, no age or address provided, for driving under suspension and fictitious plates following a traffic stop on South Market Street on Saturday. The vehicle was towed.

— Officers responded at 11:05 p.m. to West Clark Street to conduct a welfare check on a woman on Friday. Officers made contact with the woman.

— Officers responded at 10:35 p.m. to West Clark Street to a report of a fight on Friday. At the scene, officers determined the altercation was not physical.

— Officers responded at 10:23 to Washington Street to a report of an assault on Friday. After an investigation, Kylar Brown, no age or address provided, was arrested and charged with assault.

— Officers arrested Juan Anchondo, no age or address given, and charged him with OVI. He was also issued a citation for driving under suspension after a traffic stop on East Main Street Friday.

— Officers received a call at 10:05 p.m. on Friday reporting a female driving to East Palestine had an unwanted male in her car that was threatening to kill her. Officers located the driver and interviewed her. The matter remains under investigation.

Salem

— Officers responded to the 800 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 8:59 p.m. Saturday to follow up on information obtained by an off-duty officer. Officers checked the exterior of the property and found nothing out of the ordinary. Officers gained access to the residence, and everything appeared normal.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Ohio Avenue at 8:11 p.m. Saturday for a reported neighbor dispute. Officers found the matter to be a civil dispute over property and stood by while belongings were collected.

— Officers responded to the 2800 block of East State Street at 7:06 p.m. Saturday for a report of a dog being locked in a vehicle. Officers made contact with the owner, and the dog was in good health and officers advised the owner not to do so again or they could face charges.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of South Ellsworth Avenue at 3:55 p.m. Saturday for a report of a possible fight in progress between juveniles. Officers spoke with the involved parties and were advised that the incident took place on Friday and the older juvenile advised that the altercation was verbal in nature only and that nothing physical occurred, and the younger juvenile advised that a physical altercation did occur but officers did not observe any marks on the juvenile. All parties were advised to stay away from one another.

— Tracy Feasler, Campbell, was cited for failure to stop for a stop sign after her southbound vehicle in the 100 block of South Ellsworth Avenue struck a vehicle driven Westbound by Morgan Roberts, Boardman, at 3:42 p.m. Saturday. Both drivers were transported to the emergency room by ambulance for unknown injuries.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of West State Street at 1:55 p.m. Saturday for a reported person in distress. Officers located the person and found them to be having a medical issue. The fire department and EMT were requested to respond, and officers assisted until no longer needed.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of East Perry Street at 1:49 p.m. Saturday for a report of a tree falling onto a vehicle and house. Officers took photos of the damage and advised the caller of the options for dealing with the situation.

— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 12:59 p.m. Saturday regarding people bothering her. Officers provided her with options for dealing with the situation.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Continental Drive at 12:56 p.m. Saturday for a report of possible theft. The caller advised that she has her medicine delivered to her address and when she went out to get it, the bag appeared to have been ripped open and two to three pill bottles were missing, and she needed a report. Officers did notice a camera in the area, and the caller advised that her neighbor was not home at the time, but she would ask her if it caught anything.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of West School Street at 11:09 a.m. Saturday for a reported person down. A known woman was at the address causing a problem and had left westbound from the area prior to their arrival, and the homeowner requested they not return to the residence. Officers located the woman and advised her of the complaint and that if she returned, she would be arrested.

— Officers spoke with a person at the police department at 9:37 a.m. Saturday regarding a reported theft on Thursday. He advised that while at work someone had taken his wallet and that he had already spoken to the bank and canceled his cards and just needed a report to be made.

— Officers responded to the 2700 block of East State Street at 10:53 p.m. Friday for a reported person to be removed. The person had left the area prior to the officers’ arrival.

— Officers on patrol in the 2400 block of East State Street at 6:32 p.m. Friday for a reported sink hole along the side of the roadway. The hole was located, and the street department was notified.

— Officers on patrol in the 100 block of East State Street at 4:33 p.m. Friday for a reported person to be removed. Officers located the person and advised him to leave the property and that he could face criminal charges if he returned. A trespass form was filled out but not signed due to the person being irate, and they were also warned for disorderly conduct.

— Officers responded to speak to a person at the police department at 3:17 p.m. Friday regarding a reported assault that occurred in June. The caller advised that he had been assaulted at his place of employment in the 1700 block of South Lincoln Avenue. Officers obtained the name of the person involved in the incident and others who were potentially involved and advised the caller that they would investigate the matter.

— Officers responded to a business in the 2100 block of East State Street at 12:29 p.m. Friday for a reported suspicious person. Officers located the person in question inside the business, and after speaking with the man he was transported to the police department and eventually transported to the emergency room by ambulance for evaluation.

— Officers responded to the 2500 block of East State Street at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday for a security alarm. Employees from a nearby business pointed out a utility pole had been observed throwing sparks and further advised of a partial power outage in the area. Officers checked the area where the pole had been observed, and no fire, smoke, nor any other signs of damage or problems were present.

— Officers responded to the 1700 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 3:48 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a possible fire. Officers attempted to locate the fire, but none were found in the area.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Continental Drive at 3:36 p.m. Tuesday for a reported neighbor dispute. The caller advised that her next-door neighbor contacted her disability insurance claiming that the caller was not disabled and shouldn’t be receiving disability assistance. Officers spoke with the neighbor who denied everything and advised they never talk to the caller.

— Officers on patrol in the area of East Pershing Street and Penn Avenue at 3:10 p.m. Tuesday observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation. Officers conducted a traffic stop and spoke with the two occupants, and deployed K-9 Fero who alerted to the presence of a narcotic odor in the vehicle. No contraband was located, and officers issued the driver, Donna May, 39, Salem, a citation for no operator’s license.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Columbia Street at 3:13 p.m. Tuesday for a report of theft. The caller had previously made a report for a man watching her apartment while she was on vacation and after speaking with her, she noticed multiple items in her residence were missing, mostly her clothing and shoes. The matter is under investigation.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 2:51 p.m. Tuesday for a report of lines down in the roadway. Lines were located in an alley behind the 100 block of East Third Street presenting an obstruction to traffic. The fire department were attending to the lines and advised they did not need any further assistance.

— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 2:47 p.m. Tuesday who advised that sometime overnight someone had entered her truck and took $20 and plastic jar filled with change worth approximately $40. The caller advised that nothing else appeared missing and that it occurred in the 1000 block of West Perry Street.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Columbia Street at 1:57 p.m. Tuesday for a speak with officer report. The caller advised that they had a man known to her take care of her animals while she was out of town, and when she came home from vacation her apartment was dirty and a mess with her cats not fed. She attempted to contact him to get her keys back and ask what happened to her apartment, but he wouldn’t answer the phone. Officers were able to contact the man who dropped the caller’s keys off.

— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 1:29 p.m. Tuesday for a juvenile complaint. The person wanted to make officers aware of a video of two teenagers engaging in sexual activity. Investigation showed the activity appeared to be consensual, and the parents of the juveniles were made aware of the issue. Further investigation is to follow.

— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 11:56 a.m. Tuesday regarding unfulfilled contractual obligations. Officers advised the person that the police could document the circumstances and person involved, but the issue was a civil matter that would need to be addressed in small claims court.

— Officers responded to the 1300 block of Ridgewood Drive at 8:33 a.m. Tuesday for a report of ongoing parking issues. Officers spoke to one of the residents who advised that he forgot to pull the car back into the driveway and he was advised that they can’t park vehicles in the yard or in marked no parking areas. He was also advised that vehicles may be towed, and the owners cited, and he advised that he understood.

— Officers responded to the 1000 block of West Perry Street at 8:23 a.m. Tuesday for a report of criminal damage to a motor vehicle. Officers were advised that the driver’s side window was smashed in, and the glove compartment was open. After looking for their identification card, the caller advised that they could not locate their pocketbook. Officers advised the caller to contact their bank and credit card companies. Photos of the damage were taken, and a police report was made.
