St. Clair Township

— A male spoke to officers at Coach’s Burger Bar on June 12 who told them that another male who he has problems with was there and started to yell at him. He said that the male who was escorted out of the bar to his vehicle said multiple times that he was going to get a gun and kill him. Statements left with the male who wanted to file a report weren’t as of two days after the report returned to the police department.

— Officers spoke to a female at a Calcutta Smith Ferry Road residence on June 12 who told them that she and her husband are legally separated but had been communicating all evening by phone. The husband then showed up at the residence while she was entertaining a male guest. Officers told the husband he had to leave the residence because he does not live there anymore, and the female could have anyone she wanted there. The male left after being told not to return or contact the female by phone.

— A male driver was issued a verbal warning following a June 12 traffic stop on state Route 170 for no lights emitting from the vehicle.

Liverpool Township

— An unnamed female who was cited for driving under suspension following a June 12 traffic stop on state route 11 was advised to call someone to come get her and her child and their belongings from the vehicle because the vehicle would be impounded.

–An unnamed male was taken to jail for an outstanding warrant and a citation for no driver’s license, (fourth offense), illegal plates and plate obstruction following a June 12 traffic stop on Cyrus Street. The driver, who only had a permanent ID and 12 open driving suspensions, was taken to jail on his warrant with a mandatory court date. The vehicle was towed by First Class Towing.

–An officer arrived on the scene of a single car rollover on state Route 7 on June 13 and found East Liverpool police officers on the scene assisting the passengers. Two adult female passengers and one 3-year-old child were transported by EMS to the hospital. The vehicle was recovered and towed by First Class Towing.

–James Adams, age and address not provided, was issued a citation for no license and no plates following a June 14 traffic stop on state Route 7. Adams stated he was stopped in Lisbon two weeks prior for the same thing. The vehicle was impounded.

–Jeremy Gardner, age and address not provided, was issued a citation for fictitious plates on his vehicle following a June 14 traffic stop on state Route 7. The officer told him he was stopped for not having a plate, and Gardner said the plate was in the back window and must have fallen. He found the plate which the officer ran, and it came back as a dead plate from a different vehicle. The vehicle was impounded.

–An unnamed driver who was found have a suspended license and was under a failure to reinstate suspension and failed to show proof of insurance was given citations for driving under suspension and fictitious plates following a June 14 traffic stop on Anderson Boulevard. The vehicle was impounded.

–A male driver was issued a citation and a court date for expired plates and a warning for the plates not matching the vehicle following a June 14 traffic stop on state Route 7. The vehicle was towed by First Class Towing.

Highway Patrol

— Colton Merrill, of Columbia Street in Leetonia, was cited at 3:05 p.m. June 11 in Fairfield Township, after striking a vehicle driven by Jamie Lee Davis, of state Route 558, on state Route 558, at a stop sign from behind

— Joseph Yohman, of Edinburg, Pa. was cited at 11:55 a.m. June 13 in Unity Township for failure to control, after traveling off the right side of state Route 558 while traveling eastbound and striking a guardrail.

— Tina Vaughn, of Old Route 344 in Leetonia, was cited at 8:13 p.m. June 12 in Salem Township for failure to control, after traveling off the right side of the road while traveling southbound and overturning.

— Liam McLaughlin, of New Middletown, was cited at 10:47 p.m. June 16 in Fairfield Township for a stop sign violation, after striking a vehicle driven by Ashton Dattilio, of Linda Way in New Waterford, after failing to yield to her vehicle at a stop sign near the intersection of Signal and Crestview roads.

— Weston Hunt, of state Route 45 in Lisbon, was cited at 5:05 p.m. June 17 in Fairfield Township, after a two-vehicle accident. Hunt was eastbound on state Route 558, and Christie Crawford, of Maple Street in Lisbon, was southbound on state Route 164. Hunt drove off the right side of the road, resulting in Crawford driving off the left side of the road and striking a pole.

Leetonia

— A police officer responded at 1:34 p.m. June 12 to investigate a downed stop sign at the corner of Hazel and Columbia streets. The street department was notified and replaced the sign.

— Leetonia Police were dispatched at 5:04 p.m. June 17 to the intersection of state Routes 164 and 558 to standby at an accident until the Ohio Highway Patrol arrived.

— An officer responded to a business at 7:32 a.m. June 16, where an employee was having a medical issue and was a danger to himself and others. He was sent home after refusing treatment.

— A wallet was found in turned at 5:54 p.m. June 17 to Columbiana Police station and attempts are being made to the Leetonia owner.

— A suspicious vehicle was reported at 6:29 p.m. June 18 in the Pine Street area. Upon contact, the officer learned that the man was photographing homes for a private company that inspects properties within the county. He left.

— A Lisbon Street resident was given paperwork to file a harassment complaint at 9:35 pm. June 20.

— A Pearl Street woman reported at 10:53 p.m. June 19 that a suspicious person had set off her doorbell camera. Upon arrival, the officer noted nothing amiss.

— A Main Street woman reported at 5:35 p..m. June 19 that her ex-husband failed to bring their child for a midweek visit. She waited 30 minutes and tried to message him twice with no response, so she wanted a report on file for legal and custody purposes.

— Police arrived at 2:25 p.m. June 12 for a medical emergency at the village splash pad involving a 11-year-old male. The boy fell and hit his head and was crying loudly. The caller said the boy was present without his parents, and he had been running on the concrete and she heard him fall. She hadn’t seen it. The victim’s mother arrived and signed a refusal for EMS transport.

— Police investigated suspicious activity at a Butcher Road house that she was watching at 12:12 a.m. June 14. Nothing was found and the housesitter decided to leave the house for the night.

Salem

–Officers responded to the 2800 block of East State Street at 3:23 p.m. Monday for a report of a dog in a hot car. Officers located the vehicle and owner, advising them that conditions were unsafe had the dog been left in the car any longer. The animal was hot but not in distress. Officers advised the owner to leave the animal at home on days with extreme heat.

–Officers responded to the 600 block of East Fifth Street at 1:19 p.m. Monday for a wellness check. Officers spoke with the person who advised he was okay.

–Officers responded to the 2400 block of East State Street at 10:42 a.m. Monday for a report of a possible theft. The caller advised that a woman had bought an item at the store and had gotten the correct amount of change back but told the cashier they did not. Officers watched video of the incident which showed the person placing the change in her pocket before asking for more back. Officers were able to make a copy of the video and advised they would work on identifying the woman.

–Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 10:35 a.m. Monday about a stolen vehicle. The caller advised that his wife’s vehicle was parked in the 2300 block with the keys left inside and when he came out to move the vehicle, it was gone. Officers had the caller fill out a stolen vehicle report. The vehicle was later located, and it was determined that a friend had moved the vehicle and not informed the caller.

–Officers responded to the 1600 block of Salem Parkway at 7:27 a.m. Monday for a report of illegal dumping. The caller advised that someone filled their dumpster with trash. When officers arrived, the caller advised they had gone through some of the trash and obtained a piece of paper with the name and address of the person. After further investigation, a citation will be issued to the person in question once contacted.

–Officers observed two vehicles in Centennial Park after hours at 12:21 a.m. Wednesday. The occupants were on swings nearby and were advised that the park was closed and left without issue.

–Officers responded to the area of East State Street and South Union Avenue at 11:50 p.m. Tuesday for a report of suspicious activity. The caller advised a vehicle was parked in a roadway with its hazards on and a man and woman were arguing outside the vehicle. Officers checked the area and several surrounding streets but did not locate the vehicle in question.

–Officers responded to the 300 block of Newgarden Avenue at 10:18 p.m. Tuesday to check for a missing juvenile for the Youngstown Police Department. Officers retrieved the juvenile and met Youngstown officers at a halfway meeting point to hand over custody of the juvenile so they could be returned to their guardian.

–Officers responded to the 300 block of Newgarden Avenue at 9:04 p.m. Tuesday for a reported juvenile issue that occurred at the Centennial Park Pool earlier in the day. The juvenile caller alleged that a group of other juveniles would not leave him alone, and one had grabbed him by the shoulder and neck and dunked him in the pool. The caller was advised to speak with the lifeguards and have them contact the police. There was no sign of physical injury.

–Officers responded to the 2800 block of East State Street at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday for a reported dog left in a vehicle with the windows partially down. Officers spoke with the owner who was sitting in the vehicle and advised that they had set a 10-minute timer to be in and out of the store.

–Officers responded to the 500 block of East Pershing Street at 8:38 p.m. Tuesday for reported juvenile issue. The caller advised that a male juvenile from Sebo Stadium earlier in the day was back in the area harassing them. The area was checked, and the juvenile was not located.

–Officers responded to the 800 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 8:20 p.m. Tuesday for a reported animal complaint. The dog in question had proper shelter and was about to be fed and given water by its owner.

–Officers responded to the 100 block of Washington Avenue at 6:49 p.m. Tuesday for a reported barking dog, loud music, and an odor of marijuana from an apartment. Officers spoke with the resident in question and found that there was no issue.

–Officers responded to the 400 block of Reilly Avenue at 5:50 p.m. Tuesday for a reported juvenile problem. The caller advised that another juvenile was trying to start a fight with other juveniles in the area. The alleged victims of the harassment were not in the area when officers arrived, and the caller was advised to contact dispatch if further issues occurred.

–Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 5:09 p.m. Tuesday regarding an issue with their juvenile son. It was advised that an unknown person hacked his son’s TikTok account and was attempting to blackmail him. Once the person in question was informed that police were being contacted, the messages were deleted. They were advised to call back if anything occurred.

–Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 4:57 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a possible scam. The caller advised that he had received a call from someone claiming to be from Medicare and wanting information from him, and that he had given some information before ending the call. Officers advised the caller of the options for dealing with the situation.

–Officers responded to the 2800 block of East State Street at 5:04 p.m. Tuesday for a reported hit and skip. The caller advised that when she came out of the store, her vehicle had been struck. Officers documented the damage and provided the caller with a report number.

–Officers responded to the 2800 block of East State Street at 4:29 p.m. Tuesday for a reported theft. The store loss prevention officer advised they had video footage of an unknown person stealing multiple items from the store on two separate occasions. Officers gathered the information, and it will be forwarded to a detective.
