Sheriff Reports
— A caller at 10:03 p.m. Sunday reported a civil matter on Canal Street, West Township. A deputy returned the call, but was unable to make contact with the person after several attempts.
St. Clair Township
— Officers searching the Valley Avenue area after being told by a caller they overheard people yelling and thought they heard a male say something about not wanting to kill someone on June 10 were told by dispatch the original caller called back and said he thinks that someone is watching a movie close by on a big screen outside.
— A driver was issued a verbal warning for her license plate light not working following a June 10 traffic stop on Annesley Road.
— A driver was issued a warning for failing to properly stop at a stop sign after a June 10 traffic stop on St. Clair Avenue.
— A driver was issued a verbal warning for a registration violation following a June 11 traffic stop on Cannon Mills Road. The driver told officers she was in the process of buying the vehicle and had not transferred the plates yet.
— Officers handled a dispute between siblings over property lines and the sale of a house on Belmont Avenue on June 11. Officers advised the brother he would not be confronting realtors anymore.
— Passengers who were fully dressed in a vehicle on the passenger’s residence denied claims of any sexual activity to an officer who responded to the Wyoming residence for a report of two people having sex in a car on June 11.
— A driver received a warning for failing to yield to an ambulance following a June 11 traffic stop on state Route 267.
Salem
–Officers responded to the 200 block of West Fifth Street at 5:22 a.m. Tuesday for a reported barking dog complaint. Officers spoke with the owner, who brought the dog inside the house.
–Officers responded to the 100 block of West State Street at 2:20 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a possibly intoxicated driver. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle in question and collected information from the driver, observing no signs of intoxication.
–Officers responded to the 300 block of Newgarden Avenue at 12:51 a.m. Tuesday for a report of harassment. The caller advised that her son had been receiving calls from unknown juveniles that they believed to be nearby. Officers spoke with the juveniles in the area and advised them to stop if it was them. The caller was advised to shut the phone down for the night.
–Officers responded to the 400 block of Franklin Avenue at 10:51 p.m. Tuesday for a report of people shining lights into a resident’s window. Officers found that there were people in the area rescuing sick cats.
–Officers responded to the 400 block of Reilly Avenue at 10 p.m. Tuesday for an intoxicated person. Officers spoke with them briefly and transported them home.
–Officers responded to the area of East Third Street and Rose Avenue at 8:41 p.m. Monday for a report of a fight with an injured person walking around afterward. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the supposedly injured person and contact was made with individuals who were involved in the fight and information was collected about the matter.
–Officers responded to the 1200 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 8:06 p.m. Monday for a reported irate person. Officers spoke with the person in question and found that they were in an argument on the phone, and they advised that they were fine.
–Officers responded to the 1600 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 6:46 p.m. Monday for a report of suspicious activity. The caller advised that two men were sitting in a vehicle and appeared as if they had been using narcotics. Officers spoke with the men who were observed to be scratching lottery tickets.
–Officers responded to the 300 block of Newgarden Avenue at 6:41 p.m. Monday for a reported parking complaint. Officers resolved the issue for the time being and advised the caller of their options if the issue occurred again.
–Officers responded to the Centennial Park Pool at 6:01 p.m. Monday for a reported disturbance. The involved parties continued to yell and use profanities despite officers’ requests that they stop. All involved parties were trespassed from the parks.
–Officers responded to the Centennial Park Pool at 4:56 p.m. Monday for a reported disorderly person. The person had left prior to officers’ arrival, and the employees were advised to call officers if they returned.
–Officers responded to the 100 block of West Eighth Street at 4:47 p.m. Monday for a reported animal complaint. The caller advised that dogs had been left outside all day. Officers spoke with the owner, who was in the process of providing the dogs with water and advised her of the complaint.
