Sheriff’s Office

— A caller at 6:34 a.m. Thursday on Y & O Road, Madison Township reported a rug on their deck was moved and bunched up in another location. The rug was in the correct position when they went in for the night, but when they awoke, the rug was moved. There were no suspects in this case, although the caller believed it was a person known by the sheriff’s office to be in prison. The caller did not want to make a written statement or for anyone to respond.

— A deputy was dispatched at 12:06 a.m. Thursday to state Route 11 southbound near state Route 170 for a report of a vehicle traveling northbound in the southbound lane. The deputy did not locate the vehicle from state Route 11 and state Route 154 to the state Route 170 exit ramp.

— Prowlers were reported hiding inside a bush in the front yard of a property on East Liverpool Road, Madison Township at 11:59 p.m. Tuesday. A deputy checked the property and found no evidence of any persons on the property besides the owner.

New Waterford

— Officers responded to the area of Silliman Street at 6:45 p.m. Thursday in reference to a suspicious person and found that the person had permission to be on the property.

— Officers responded to the 3200 block of Creek Road at 6:02 a.m. Wednesday in reference to a disturbance possibly involving a weapon. Officers spoke with everyone involved as well as witnesses and the matter was forwarded to the prosecutor’s for further review.

— Officers responded to a state Route 46 business at 4:37 p.m. Monday in reference to a disturbance and advised the person responsible to stay off the premises.

— Officers responded to a state Route 46 business at 4:11 p.m. Monday in reference to a disturbance and spoke with the person responsible.

Salem

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Aetna Street at 4:15 a.m. Friday for a reported domestic dispute. It was advised that the female half had returned after a prior call and the two began arguing again but nothing physical had occurred. They were advised to go to separate rooms for the evening and sleep it off.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Aetna Street at 1:15 a.m. Friday for a reported domestic dispute. The caller advised her husband returned home from the bar intoxicated and was causing issues in the home, but that no threats of physical harm occurred and she did not want him to be arrested. When officers spoke with the man who was angry and very intoxicated and after several warnings for disorderly conduct, he agreed to go inside and sleep. The caller then “re-ignited the incident, claiming she forgot her phone inside the home” and after finding in in her vehicle it was decided that she would leave the home for the night and the caller packed a small amount of clothing items and left with her child.

— Officers responded to the area of South Lincoln Avenue and East Perry Street at 11:58 p.m. Thursday for a report of someone with a shopping cart full of items. Officers spoke with people in the 500 block of East Perry Street since there was a shopping cart in the backyard with items in it, but they didn’t know anything. Officers also spoke with another person who has several items and gave permission to check them. The person advised that they had traded for the items with another person. Officers checked the 800 block of South Lincoln at a residence for a possible break-in since the people were allegedly coming from there, and didn’t see anything unusual.

— Officers responded to the 2900 block of East State Street at 8:20 p.m. Thursday for a reported reckless operator. Officers searched the area and the parking lots but were unable to locate the vehicle described.

— Officers responded to the 1200 block of Southeast Boulevard at 5:06 p.m. Thursday for a report of solicitors. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the person in question.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of South Madison Avenue at 4:24 p.m. Thursday for a reported tree limb in the roadway. Officers and the street department arrived, and the limb was removed.

— Officers responded with the fire department to the area of Park Avenue and Oak Street at 4:30 p.m. Thursday for a report of wires down. Officers provided traffic control until Ohio Edison arrived.

— Officers responded to the 2700 block of East State Street at 4:17 p.m. Thursday for a reported child left in a motor vehicle. Officers spoke with the mother who admitted to leaving her child, who was asleep, in the vehicle due to the inclement weather and advised that she was only in the store for a short period of time and could see the vehicle. Information was collected and will be sent to children services.

— Officers responded to the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 2:29 p.m. Thursday for a speak with officer report. The caller advised that a man had said inappropriate things to his wife and daughter. Officers located the man at another residence who denied saying anything inappropriate but did admit that he had said hi to them and tried to start a conversation.

— Officers responded to the 900 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 2 p.m. Thursday for a report of possible menacing. The caller advised that a DoorDash driver had been irate with him. Officers advised that he had not made any direct threats, and the issue would need to be handled through DoorDash and to call back if the person returned.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 12:33 p.m. Thursday for a reported suspicious person. The caller advised that a woman was walking through the alleyway talking to herself and waving a knife around. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the person in question.
