— Officers spoke to witnesses who told them that the two subjects involved had already left when they arrived at a St. George Street residence for a possible domestic dispute on June 2.
— Officers found nothing out of the ordinary when they conducted a welfare check on a resident at on Ohio Street residence on June 2.
— Officers went to a Lousie Street residence on June 2 to notify residents that Kentucky State Police needed someone from that address to contact them.
— Officers went to Williams Avenue on June 2 to check for excessive speeders after receiving a complaint of people speeding on a road with heavy traffic.
— An owner of a Maple Street business called to report a customer making threats toward his employee on June 2 and would like a report on file.
— Officers observed two vehicles parked at the Wharf after hours on June 2. The officers checked the vehicles which were empty but located multiple people who said the vehicles were theirs.
— Jacora Jackson, age and address not provided, was issued a citation and court date for no driver’s license following a June 5 traffic stop on state Route 11.
St. Clair Township
— Officers responded to a Calcutta Smith Ferry Road residence on June 2 to assist North Star with a deceased male.
— Officers were waved down on June 2 to let them know Splish Splash Laundry on Calcutta Smith Ferry Road had water coming out of the building. The officers were able to contact the owner who said a hose broke on a washer and had water on the floor.
— A female stopped an officer near Calcutta Square on June 2 and told him she had just left the YMCA and she wanted to make a report on a male that would not leave her alone while she was there.
— Officers responded to Stagecoach Road on June 2 for a male possibly having a seizure. The officer who was working to make sure the males airways were clear and that he didn’t choke, told dispatch NorthStar was needed and the EMTs arrived at the residence and took over care for the male.
— Officers helped the owner of a disabled vehicle get off the roadway so it wouldn’t block traffic on Calcutta Smith Ferry Road on June 2.
–Officers responded on June 3 to a private property crash at the Huntington Bank on St. Clair Avenue. There were no injuries reported. Both vehicles were driven from the scene.
— Officers did not locate anyone when they responded on June 3 to a report of a disturbance on Grimms Bridge Road.
— An employee at Auto Zone reported finding blue pills in a clear plastic bag in the store’s bathroom on June 3. Officers spoke with the on-duty manager who said that the bathroom is an employee bathroom, but they don’t decline customers who ask to use it. She also said the pills were found during a time when business was slow. All employees’ names were written down who worked that day.
— Officers were dispatched on June 3 to Walmart for a private property crash in the parking lot. Officers told dispatch they were tied up with a more pressing matter and asked the two parties involved to come to the police station to fill out a report. The dispatcher took all the information needed for a private property accident report.
— Officers arrived at a McCoy Avenue apartment for a report of people possibly fighting outside. When the officers arrived, there was nobody there, no noise and all the apartments appeared to be dark.
— Officers were dispatched to the area of Midland Fredericktown Road for a report of a car hauler attempting to cross the seven-ton bridge while clearly being over the bridge weight limit. The officers arrived and observed the car hauler traveling back up the hill towards Calcutta.
— Officers found everything to be in order after speaking with employees at Community Action where they responded to an alarm on June 3.
— After receiving a complaint on June 3 from a concerned caller regarding a male having a beer at Coaches Burger Bar with an approximately 8-year child with him. Officers arrived and spoke to the male who appeared to be more intoxicated than the two beers he was reported as having and advised him that at this point there was no crime committed but was strongly advised to have someone come pick him and the child up. Officers stood by in the parking lot until they were picked up from the restaurant.
— Officers forwarded a report to the dog warden after responding to Spruce Court residence on June 4 for a report of the resident’s dog being attacked by the neighbor’s pit bulls. Officers noted when talking to the owner; the pit bulls did not appear aggressive.
— Dakota Koren (age and address not provided) was issued a citation for speed following a June 4 traffic stop on McGuffy Drive.
— A juvenile driver was issued a warning following a June 4 traffic stop on Challenger Drive.
— Officers were unable to locate a red pickup that was reported to driving recklessly on St. Clair Avenue on June 4.
— Officers took a report from a driver who said someone in a white vehicle struck her car on June 7 while she had it parked at Heritage Valley Health Care.
— An officer discovered after checking a parking lot on state Route 170 for a reported car alarm on June 4, that it was a car that had been towed there, and the hazard lights were not turned off.
— Officers discovered an alarm at a HeadStart Center on St. Clair Avenue was a delivery truck making a delivery on June 4.
— Officers did not locate a female that was reported to be screaming for help on June 4 near the intersection of East Liverpool and Irish Ridge Road. The officers also checked the Columbiana Memorial Park.
— A driver received a verbal warning for making an illegal left turn following a June 5 traffic stop on St. Clair Avenue.
— Officers were called on June 5 to escort an irate male from the property. After speaking with the male and the managers it was discovered the man was upset because he was told the tires he ordered online and had shipped to the store were not there and they would refund him for the fees on the appointment. It was discovered the tires were there and the man was called back to have tires installed for free.
— Officers euthanized a raccoon with one shot that had been injured by a coyote on McCoy Avenue on June 5.
— An officer with K9 was requested by the East Liverpool Police Department for an open-air sniff of a vehicle they stopped on June 5 on state Route 11. K9 Noras alerted on the vehicle and a probable cause search was conducted and officers found a Mason jar of marijuana but nothing illegal.
— Gabirel MendezNavas (age and address) not provided was issued a citation for speed following a June 5 traffic stop on Dresden Avenue.
Salem
— Officers responded to the 110 block of Maple Street at 10:49 p.m. Sunday for a reported domestic dispute. Officers resolved the matter, and the involved parties willingly separated for the night.
— Officers responded to the 800 block of Newgarden Avenue at 10:23 p.m. Sunday for a noise complaint. Officers were advised that the person in question had turned the music back up and was also knocking on his neighbor’s door. Officers spoke with the person in question advising him to turn the music down and leave his neighbors alone and to go inside his residence for the evening.
— Officers responded to the 800 block of Newgarden Avenue at 9:39 p.m. Sunday for a reported noise complaint. Officers could hear loud music while approaching from the roadway and spoke with the homeowner, advising him to turn the music down, and he did so.
— Officers responded to the 1100 block of Maple Street at 9:37 p.m. Sunday for a reported person to be removed. Officers attempted to speak with the caller but they refused.
— Officers responded to the 300 block of North Lundy Avenue at 8:32 p.m. Sunday for a reported juvenile problem. Officers collected information about the matter.
— Officers responded to the first block of South Lincoln Avenue at 7:36 p.m. Sunday for a reported reckless operator. Officers checked the area and surrounding streets for the vehicle in question but were unable to locate it.
— Officers responded to the 1000 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 6:53 p.m. Sunday to speak with two people who were looking for transportation to Austintown. They were advised that they cannot hitchhike in the city and to reach out to friends or relatives for transportation.
— Officers responded to the 500 block of West Fifth Street at 6:12 p.m. Sunday for a report of damage done to a yard by a motor vehicle. Officers spoke with the caller and advised them to mount cameras on the property if possible so that if it occurs again, the person in question can be identified.
— Officers responded to the 900 block of East Fifth Street at 12:54 p.m. Sunday for a reported domestic dispute. Officers spoke with the caller and the male-half left prior to officers’ arrival. The matter is an ongoing issue between the two involved parties.
— Officers responded to the 1500 block of East Third Street at 11:14 a.m. Sunday for a report of unknown people trespassing on his property. The caller advised that an unknown person had damaged a tractor on his property and that he had also witnessed a person on the property at night. Officers advised them of their options for dealing with the situation.
— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 9:22 a.m. Sunday regarding issues with their neighbor, who they wanted trespassed from their property. The person filled out a trespass form and officers contacted the neighbor who signed the form as well.
— Officers responded to the 2900 block of East State Street at 8:16 a.m. Sunday for a reported reckless operator. Officers located the vehicle in question and spoke with the owner, advising them of the complaint, and everything checked okay.
— Officers responded to the railroad crossing on West Wilson Street after being flagged down by a person and advised a man was sitting near the tracks. Officers spoke with the man, who advised that he did not feel like harming himself and “kindly walked back toward his residence.”
— Officers responded to the area of West Sixth Street and West Fifth Street at 11:26 p.m. Saturday for a reported suspicious vehicle. Officers checked the area and several surrounding blocks but did not locate the vehicle in question.
— Officers responded to the first block of West State Street at 11:22 p.m. Saturday for a reported reckless driver. Officers checked the area but did not locateanyone.
— Officers responded to the 200 block of West Ninth Street at 8:26 p.m. Saturday for a wellness check. The caller advised that he was texting the resident when they jokingly referred to her being too busy to chat by saying that she was being held against her will. The woman clarified that was because she had so much to do and was too overwhelmed to chat, and that everything was okay.
— Officers responded to the 900 block of Franklin Avenue at 8:04 p.m. Saturday for a reported neighbor dispute. The caller advised her cat was on the neighbor’s property and apparently lunged at them at which time he jumped toward the cat to get it away from him. The caller became upset, and words were exchanged between the two. Both parties were advised to stay away from one another and for the caller to keep her cat on her own property. The caller’s mother was also advised to stop making gestures towards the two neighbors.
— Officers responded to the 500 block of Walnut Street at 5:07 p.m. Saturday for a reported suspicious person. The caller advised that two women were laying in a yard. Officers spoke with a resident who advised they were allowed to be there.
— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 1:49 p.m. Saturday about a reported theft. The person advised that his vehicle was broken into at the Kent State City Center parking lot and his wallet and some change was taken. He advised that he had frozen all cards in the wallet and did not notice any suspicious activity on the cards before doing so.
— Officers responded to the 1200 block of Southeast Boulevard at 1:04 p.m. Saturday for a report of possible menacing. The caller advised that another person who owed him money refused to pay him back and had sent him threatening messages and he wanted a report. The caller forwarded the messages to officers.
— Officers responded with the fire department to the 2500 block of Lexington Avenue for a fire alarm at 12:54 p.m. Saturday for a fire alarm. Officers stood by until they were no longer needed.
— Officers responded to the 1000 block of East Fourth Street at 11:15 a.m. Saturday for a reported hit and skip. The caller’s vehicle was legally parked and unoccupied when it was struck in the driver’s side door by an unknown vehicle which fled the scene.
— Officers spoke with a person at the police department at 11:06 a.m. Saturday for a reported speak with officer report. The caller advised that he was involved in an accident and had exchanged information with the other driver and that when he attempted to contact the other driver, the phone number given was a non-working number. The caller was advised that since he did not report the accident and exchanged information, the matter was civil.
— Officers responded to the 300 block of West Wilson Street at 10:48 a.m. Saturday for a reported parking complaint. Officers located the vehicle and placed a red warning tag on it.
— Officers responded to the 800 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 4:34 a.m. Saturday for a reported breaking and entering in progress. Officers cleared the house, which has been abandoned, and were unable to locate anyone. Officers secured the building for the time being.
— Officers responded to the 500 block of East Third Street at 10:57 p.m. Friday for a reported noise complaint. The caller advised that it was an ongoing issue and had notified the landlord several times. When the officers arrived, no loud music could be heard, and no answer was received at the apartment door. There were no further issues at that time.
— Officers responded to the 100 block of Woodland Avenue at 9:11 p.m. Friday for a reported juvenile complaint. The caller advised that her son had not returned home despite being on probation from the juvenile court. When officers arrived, the juvenile had made it home and advised that he was with friends near the Smith Center. After a lengthy talk about how he can correct not coming home on time and avoiding further issues with the court he agreed to make a better effort.
— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 7:49 p.m. Friday for a report of theft. The caller advised that a juvenile male that is friends with his daughter had taken a $100 bill from his residence while he was visiting her that day. After becoming aware of the theft, the person had their daughter tell the friend to return it, and the juvenile returned $46 with a note stating he would pay the rest back soon. The caller advised that he just wanted the money back in full and did not want to seek charges at that time. Officers then responded to the 300 block of Ohio Avenue to speak with the juvenile and his mother, and the juvenile was apologetic, and the mother took him to the friend’s home to return the rest of the money.
— Officers spoke with several people in the 500 block of East Fourth Street at 7:37 p.m. Friday who were verbally threatening and harassing each other. They were advised to stay away from each other so that the issue would not occur again.
— Officers spoke with a person by phone at 7 p.m. Friday for a reported landlord tenant issue. The caller wanted to obtain his belongings he left at the residence two weeks prior and showed up unannounced and the other party was refusing to allow him to get his things. Officers were able to come to an arrangement with bother parties that the caller return the next day to get his things.
— Officers responded to the 100 block of West State Street at 6:09 p.m. Friday to assist the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task force. Officers took the man into custody and $40 was seized and logged as evidence and the man was transported to the Columbiana County Jail.
— Officers responded to the 800 block of East Third Street at 5:40 p.m. Friday for a wellness check. The caller advised that he could hear what sounded like an alarm going off in the neighboring apartment; however, when officers arrived, they did not hear any beeping and were unable to make contact with the residence.
— Officers responded to the 2500 block of East State Street at 4:41 p.m. Friday for a reported animal complaint. The caller advised that there was a dog inside a vehicle panting. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicle in question.
— James Ciotti, 73, Salem, was cited for the assured clear distance ahead after eastbound vehicle failed to stop for traffic, striking the rear of a vehicle driven by Kurt Whitman, 18, Lisbon, at 3:55 p.m. Friday. Ciotti and his passenger were transported to the emergency room by the fire department.
— Officers responded to the 200 block of Vine Avenue at 3:17 p.m. Friday to deliver a message. Officers were unable to make contact.
— Officers responded to the 1500 block of Southeast Boulevard at 3:02 p.m. Friday to deliver a message for the Beaver Township Police Department. A family member advised that they would give the person in question the message.
— Officers responded to the 100 block of West State Street at 2:30 p.m. Friday to assist the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force. The person in question was taken into custody and $120 was seized as evidence.
— Officers responded to the 800 block of Aetna Street at 12:43 p.m. Friday for a single vehicle accident involving a telephone pole. The driver, Darius Ruffner, 20, Salem, went off the right side of the roadway, striking the telephone pole guide wires, riding up them to an approximately 45-degree angle. There were no reported injuries, and the vehicle was removed from the wires and towed from the scene by Sinsley Towing and Ruffner was cited for failure to control.
— Officers responded to the 300 block of North Lundy Avenue at 12:07 p.m. Friday for reported civil issue. Officers spoke with the person who advised that he had let a family member use his lawn mower, and when they returned it, it was broken. The caller advised that the same family member had made some threatening statements towards his children. The caller was advised of the options for dealing with both issues.
— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 10:01 a.m. Friday about an ongoing problem with people known to him. The caller advised of the options for dealing with the situation.
— Officers responded to the 1400 block of Maple Lane at 9:53 a.m. Friday for a report of suspicious activity. Officers located a man, advising him of the complaint, and he advised that he was just hanging out and was sorry for causing any issue.
— Officers responded to the 1900 block of Oak Street at 9:26 a.m. Friday for a report of a suspicious man. Officers spoke with the man and found that he was with a survey company and putting pins in the property line of the house next to the caller’s residence.
— Officers spoke with a person at the police department at 7:48 a.m. Friday for a speak with officer report. The caller had questions concerning their adult son, and information was provided to the caller.
— Officers responded to the 1900 block of East State Street at 9:54 p.m. Thursday for a reported accidental gunshot wound. The person advised that while outside with his rifle he tripped and fired the rifle into his right arm.
— Officers responded to the 400 block of Reilly Avenue at 12:41 a.m. Tuesday for a reported suspicious person. Officers were advised that multiple people were inside Sebo Stadium after hours. Officers spoke with the people, advising them of the hours of the stadium.
— Officers were flagged down in the 900 block of East Third Street at 11:34 p.m. Monday by a man who advised his son’s girlfriend was being contacted constantly by a person. Officers spoke with the juvenile, advising her to block the person on all platforms and that officers would speak with them. Officers advised the person to stop all contact with the juvenile and had them sign a trespass notice.
— Officers responded to the 800 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 9:44 p.m. Monday for a report of suspicious activity. The caller advised that they were outside when their dogs started barking toward a neighbor’s house when they heard what sounded like a window being opened. They also advised that there have been recent break-ins and asked officers to check the area. While searching the area, a person appeared from the woods and advised they were attempting to locate their dog. Officers checked the residence but did not observe any signs of forced entry.
