East Liverpool

— After observing Johnny Exline, 51, address not provided, as a passenger in car and knowing him to have an outstanding warrant, an officer conducted a traffic on Pennsylvania Avenue on May 24 after confirming the warrant and took Exline into custody and transported him to the Columbiana County Jail.

— Officers secured an employee door at Hall China on May 24 after responding to a call about someone being inside the building. The keyholder reported that via a remote camera he could see someone in the building. Officers arrived and searched the building but were unable to find anyone.

— Officers stood by at a Moore Street residence on May 24, to allow a male to gather belongings from the residence after an incident earlier in the day where officers responded to the same location when the male reported the resident had struck and spit on him.

— Officers were requested at Woodlawn Avenue residence on May 24 to document someone putting tires on top of a resident’s vehicle.

— Kahill Tookes, 29, address not provided, was arrested for strangulation and domestic violence, after officers responded to a State Street residence for a domestic dispute and observed marks around the victim’s neck and under her eye.

— Officers searched a portion of state Route 7 on May 24 for a grey sedan that was reported to be driven by a reckless driver.

— Officers were unable to make contact with a resident who reported someone trying to break into a Pennsylvania Avenue house on May 24. A search of the area turned up no one.

— Officers took a report from a juvenile on May 24 who said he was riding his scooter when Chase Haney, age and address not provided, stopped the car he was driving and threatened to pistol whip him and take his scooter. Officers talked to witnesses who said they saw the male talking to the juvenile but did not hear what was said. It was noted that the juvenile is an acquaintance of another juvenile who Haney has also been threatening and currently has menacing charges for.

— Officers responded to an open 911 line from a Maine Boulevard residence on May 24 and spoke with the resident who said the kids were playing with the phone. The officer was able to see the kids and confirmed they were playing with the phone.

— An officer was dispatched to an alarm at a Fifth Street location on May 24, but the call was canceled prior to his arrival for a false alarm.

— Officers checked an area of Cleveland Avenue near the railroad tracks for people who reported to be taking copper from a torn down house. Officers walked the tracks looking, but did not see anybody.

Salem

— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 4:46 p.m. Thursday for a report of possible criminal damage. The caller advised that she is in the process of moving and her landlord removed her mailbox. Officers spoke with the landlord who advised that he thought the caller had moved out as she had not been there and that he would put the mailbox back up tomorrow. Officers spoke to the caller who advised that would be fine and just wanted a report made at that time.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Woodland Avenue at 4:25 p.m. Wednesday for a reported domestic in progress. Officers attempted to speak with the people in question but were unable to.

— Officers responded to the 2700 block of East State Street at 3:39 p.m. Wednesday for a reported disorderly person. The person who started the incident was stopped and identified, and the business did not want to trespass them at that time.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of South Union Avenue at 2:59 p.m. Wednesday for a reported suspicious person in the driveway. The caller advised that the man had left the area southbound through the alley and then westbound on Oak Street. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the caller and advised the caller to contact the department if the person returned.

— Officers responded to the 2700 block of East State Street at 2:44 p.m. Wednesday for a reported parking complaint. Officers spoke with utility workers who advised that they were moving the truck down the power lines but would put cones out for traffic control.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Cedar Street at 2:06 p.m. Wednesday for a reported suspicious person. The caller advised that the person in question did not appear to have any pants on. Officers checked the area several times but were unable to locate the person in question.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of East Fourth Street at 1:31 p.m. Wednesday for a wellness check. The caller advised that a person was sitting outside the front doors not responding to her question. Officers found that the person was waiting for a friend to get home. The caller, who is the manager of the facility, wanted them to leave the property until their friend returned, and the person did so without incident.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of Newgarden Avenue at 11:11 p.m. Thursday for a reported fight between juveniles. Officers collected information from the parties involved, who gave conflicting stories, and the matter will be forwarded to the juvenile officer for further investigation.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of East State Street at 8:09 p.m. Thursday for a reported suspicious person. Officers spoke with the person and advised them to move along.

— Officers responded to the 1400 block of Ridgewood Drive at 6:29 p.m. Thursday for a reported parking complaint. Officers observed a vehicle that was past the parking sign due to the trailer attached but was not obstructing traffic nor creating an issue in the roadway.

— Officers responded to the area of Hawley Avenue at 6:10 p.m. Thursday for a report of debris in the roadway. The caller advised that a vehicle passing by broke a window on a trail and kept driving. Officers had the fire department respond to the scene, and they swept the roadway clear of the glass.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of East State Street at 4:48 p.m. Thursday for a reported disorderly person. Officers checked the area and located the person in question in the 100 block. Officers warned him to cease his behavior, or he could be arrested.

— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 2:48 p.m. Thursday for a report of illegal dumping. The person advised his daughter caught a person throwing items into his dumpster and wanted a report on file.

— Officers responded to the area of Vine Avenue at 2:50 p.m. Thursday for a reported parking complaint. Officers observed a vehicle parked on the west side of Vine Avenue past the no parking sign. Officers issued a parking ticket.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of East State Street at 2:24 p.m. Thursday for a wellness check. The caller advised that there was a confused elderly woman in the parking lot. Officers and the fire department were able to gather information, and a family member was contacted to respond.

— Officers responded to the 700 block of Summit Street at 1:51 p.m. Thursday for a reported domestic dispute. Officers spoke with the person involved and found it to be a civil dispute over residency and while on scene found the caller, Amanda Pedro, 36, Salem, to have an active warrant for their arrest out of Columbiana County. Officers took Pedro into custody without incident and transported them directly to the Columbiana County Jail.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of West State Street at 12:40 p.m. Thursday to assist the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force. The person in question attempted to leave in a vehicle but was stopped shortly after and taken into custody without incident, and $60 was taken as evidence.

— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 12:09 p.m. Thursday for a report of a stolen identity. Officers spoke with the caller who was provided with options for dealing with the situation.

— Officers on patrol in the area of Washington Avenue and East State Street at 9:43 a.m. Thursday observed an abandoned bicycle. The fire department picked up the bike and brought it back to the station.

— Officers responded to the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 9:13 a.m. Thursday for a reported parking complaint. Officers located the vehicle in question and attempted contact with the owner but were unable to speak with them. Officer notified the building’s maintenance personnel of the issue.

St. Clair Township

— Officers responded to Dunkin Donuts regarding an accident that happened May 25 at Dunham’s Plaza. A female reported the other driver involved in the private property crash had left the scene.

— An officer responded on May 24 to Calcutta Smith Ferry Road for a complaint of car wash traffic blocking the road. The road was clear.

— A female went to the police station on May 25 to report that while she was walking back to her car after walking around Calcutta Square for the car show her ex who she has filed for a protection order against blocked her vehicle in and started yelling. She took a picture of him and he left.

— Ohio highway patrol requested an officer with K-9 at a traffic stop on Pennsylvania Avenue on May 25. K-9 Rebel conducted an open-air sniff and alerted on the vehicle. A probable cause search was conducted on the vehicle and officers found suspected white powder residue on the front passenger door but troopers were unable to collect enough for testing.

— An officer took a report on May 25 from a driver for Romeo’s Pizza who said that he went for a delivery and when he returned, he saw scratches on his vehicle.

— A driver was issued a warning following a May 25 traffic stop on state Route 170 for driving with no lights on.

— Officers found the Verizon Store on state Route 170 to be secure after responding May 25 for an alarm.

— Officers were notified on May 25 of a fight taking place at the Memorial Day event in front of Coaches Burger Bar and Grill. Before officers arrived Calcutta Station 10 firefighters checked the area and notified officers that both parties were gone, and no one still in the area witnessed the incident.

— An unnamed driver was taken into custody for OVI by Ohio State Highway Patrol following a May 25 traffic stop on Aten Avenue for which a St. Clair officer with K-9 was requested to do an open-air search.

— Officers spoke to a Lifeteam employee on May 25 regarding an open door that should not have been open. Nothing had been taken from the building.
