Sheriff’s Office
— A deputy at 6:19 p.m. Wednesday checked the area of U.S. Route 30 in West Township for an active domestic, searching the immediate and surrounding areas and finding no one.
— A caller at 4:43 p.m. Wednesday on Hilltop Drive, Center Township, contacted the sheriff’s office about a trespass. A deputy later called them back and advised them how to proceed, advising a report would be on file.
— A caller from state Route 45, Madison Township at 4:40 p.m. Wednesday reported a theft of credit cards. A deputy spoke to them later and advised them how to proceed.
— A deputy at 1:52 a.m. Wednesday returned a call regarding trespassing on Y & O Road, Madison Township, advising the caller how to proceed.
St. Clair Township
— Officers spoke to a female who told them her father had been drinking and yelling at her and her two young children when they arrived at a Clifton Avenue residence for a domestic dispute on May 24. Officers spoke to the father who was intoxicated and wanted his daughter and her children to leave for the night. The daughter agreed and left.
— Officers cleared state Route 170 of screws that were lying in the roadway on May 24.
— A male wanting to file a police report in case something happened spoke to officers on May 24 regarding an incident that took place between him and another male who confronted him numerous times trying to start a fight.
Highway Patrol
— Adonay Fuentes, of Canton, was cited at 4:57 p.m. May 22 failure to maintain an assured clear distance, after rear ending a vehicle driven by Landon Williams, of Annesley Road in East Liverpool on state Route 172 in Hanover Township.
— Robert Mountz, of state Route 164 in Lisbon, was cited at 9:22 p.m. May 24 for failure to control in Elkrun Township, after losing control of his vehicle while southbound on state Route 11, traveling left of center and striking a median.
— Two drivers from three vehicles involved in a crash were cited at 4:40 a.m. May 21 in Madison Township. Both Joshua Walker, of Toronto, and Larry Sonntag, of Grant Street in East Liverpool, were cited for assured clear distance. Leonard Bragg, of state Route 45 in Lisbon, was southbound on U.S. Route 30 and attempted to back into a private drive, when Walker struck the trailer of Bragg’s semi-truck and Sonntag rear ended Walker’s vehicle.
— Colton Sonkemp, of Alliance, was cited at 6:48 a.m. May 28 for failure to control in Hanover Township, after his eastbound vehicle failed to negotiate a curb on U.S. Route 30, went off the right side of the road and struck an embankment.
— Ryan Morris, of Cherry Street in Homeworth, was cited at 8:41 p.m. May 28 for failure to control in Knox Township, after going off the left side of Knox School Road while traveling southbound and striking a ditch and a traffic sign.
Columbiana
— Ryan Preston, of Boardman, was cited at 9:25 a.m. May 21 for driving without a valid license following a traffic stop in the 200 block of North Main Street.
— Police responded at 9:40 p.m. May 30 near the Village Sparkle, involving two vehicles on state Route 46 with minor injuries. There was no other information provided.
— Jose Santana, no address listed, was cited at 7:50 a.m. May 30 in the 14000 block of South Avenue for a marked lane violation as a result of a crash.
— Matthew Grimm, of Lisbon, was cited at 9:27 p.m. May 29 for driving under suspension in the 100 block of North Main Street.
— An officer responded at 2:10 p.m. May 29 to a private property crash in the first block of South Main Street.
— An officer took a scam report at 5:08 p.m May 28 in th 1200 block of Columbiana-Lisbon Road. No other details were provided.
— Reinaldo P. Diaz, of Youngstown, was arrested at 2:30 p.m. May 28 on a charge of possessing drug paraphernalia, after a traffic top near state routes 7 and 14.
— A suspicious person was reported at 4:57 p.m. May 27 in the 400 block of South Main St.
Perry Township
— Officers responded to the area of West State Street at 10:42 p.m. Wednesday for a reported reckless driver. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.
— Officers responded to the 400 block of West Pidgeon Road at 8:49 p.m. Wednesday for a reported theft. The caller advised that his four-wheeler was stolen from behind his house.
— Officers responded to Blossom Nursing Home at 3:33 p.m. Wednesday to speak with a manager regarding an internal investigation the nursing home had conducted on an employee for verbal abuse. Officers advised that unfortunately verbal abuse is not a crime and unless threats were made to the victim or there was a pattern of behavior established that there was nothing the officer could do. The caller requested a report be made for their records.
— Officers responded to the 300 block of Stewart Road at 5 p.m. Tuesday for a report of theft. The caller advised that sometime during the night someone stole a Stihl weed eater valued between $200 and $300 from his shed.
— Officers responded to the 1800 block of Allen Drive at 2:17 p.m. Tuesday for a report of theft. The caller advised that sometime overnight several lawn ornaments were taken from her flower beds closest to the road, including a flowerpot stand, ceramic mushrooms, and a gazing ball.
— Officers responded to the 900 block of Hartley Avenue at 11:50 p.m. Monday for a reported suspicious person. Officers were advised that a juvenile had come onto the porch of a residence and then fled on foot. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate them.
— Officers responded to the 600 block of Snyder Road at 8:03 p.m. Monday for a juvenile complaint. Salem officers stood by with a young female juvenile walking home without her mother knowing. Officers spoke with the mother who was already en route to pick up the juvenile and turned the juvenile over when the mother arrived.
Salem
— Officers responded to the 1300 block of Salem Parkway at 5:07 a.m. Thursday for a reported smoke investigation. Officers checked the area and observed a tanker truck delivering liquid gas to a business which was causing the smoke.
— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 9:23 p.m. Thursday for a reported harassment incident involving two juveniles. Officers advised them that they would speak to the juvenile in question.
— Officers responded to the 500 block of East Fourth Street at 9:10 p.m. Thursday for a reported domestic dispute. Both parties were spoken to separately and advised that there was an argument between the two regarding their current living situation, but nothing physical had occurred. The woman agreed to go grab some dinner with her daughter so the situation could de-escalate. Both parties are working towards moving out of the residence in the next weeks.
— Officers responded to the 300 block of North Madison Avenue at 7:53 p.m. Thursday for a reported domestic in progress. Officers spoke with both parties, and it was advised that the person in question had been staying at the residence after being in a treatment facility and had since relapsed and was no longer wanted at the residence. The man agreed to gather his belongings and leave.
