-- Officers responded to the 2500 block of Bentley Drive at 8:12 p.m. Friday to assist with a possible combative resident. The staff asked officers to speak with the resident who had already calmed down and they voluntarily agreed to go to the hospital and were transported by EMT.
-- Officers responded to the 400 block of East Second Street at 7:39 p.m. Friday for a report of a drug deal taking place. Officers spoke with all parties involved and found that it was not the case.
-- Officers responded to the area of South Union Avenue and Ridgewood Drive at 7:02 p.m. Friday for a reported parking complaint. Vehicles were located which were legally parked.
-- Officers responded to the 2800 block of East State Street at 6:01 p.m. Friday for a report of a person who was allegedly struck by a large chain of grocery carts. Officers stood by until first responders arrived.
-- Officers responded to the 100 block of West State Street at 5:32 p.m. Friday to assist an agent from the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force with an arrest in the city.
-- Officers responded to the 1400 block of East Tenth Street at 5:27 p.m. Friday for a report of suspicious activity. The caller advised that when she returned home, she noticed that her gate was broken and was concerned that someone may be in the residence. The residence was cleared, and it was determined that the gate was damaged by the wind.
-- Officers responded to the 800 block of Morris Avenue at 4:42 p.m. Friday for a reported runaway juvenile. While en route officers located the juvenile in question and he was transported back to his residence.
-- Deirdre Thomas, 32, Sebring, was cited for failure to yield after her southbound vehicle failed to yield from a stop sign striking a vehicle driven eastbound on West Pershing Street by Jeffrey Kalbfell, 37, Warren, at 4:29 p.m. Friday.
-- Officers responded to the 800 block of Morris Avenue at 4:15 p.m. Friday for a reported juvenile problem. The caller advised her juvenile son had left the residence without permission. While officers were en route to the residence they located the juvenile in question and transported them back to the residence. Officers spoke with the juvenile and his mother about resolving his issue with wanting to leave the residence.
-- Officers responded to the area of East Pershing Street and Washington Avenue at 3:57 p.m. Friday for a report of a possible water line break. Officers checked the area and observed what appeared to be a small leak from a valve. Officers had dispatch notify the city water department of the issue.
-- Officers responded to the 1300 block of Ridgewood Drive at 2:11 p.m. Friday for a wellness check. The caller advised the person in question had made some concerning comments while on the phone with her. Officers spoke with the person who advised they did not make the comments but was having a bad day. They refused medical treatment and were advised to contact the police department if she needed anything in the future.
-- Officers responded to the 100 block of West State Street at 1:10 p.m. Friday to assist the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force. The person, whose name was not listed, was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Columbiana County Jail and $140 was seized as evidence.
-- Jessica Milburn, 26, Alliance, was cited for assured clear distance ahead after her vehicle struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Rachel Hancock, 50, Beloit, in the 900 block of West Pershing Street at 12:27 p.m. Friday. No injuries were reported.
-- Officers responded to the 1000 block of East Third Street at 10:53 a.m. Friday for a reported 911 hang-up call. Officers were able to determine that a young child was playing with a phone. There was a language barrier, but officers attempted to explain the complaint to the mother.
-- Officers responded to the 1800 block of East State Street at 10:38 a.m. Friday for a reported speak with officer complaint. The caller advised that an unknown person in a pickup truck had brake-checked him and nearly caused him to crash. Officers advised them of their options for dealing with the situation.
-- Officers responded to the 200 block of West State Street at 10:15 a.m. Friday for a report of shoplifting. The caller advised that a man had entered the store and taken several packages of lunch meat and left the store without rendering payment. Officers located the man, Anthony Sheely, Salem, with the items in the 200 block of West Pershing Street. Sheely admitted to taking the items and was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Columbiana County Jail.
-- Officers responded to the 2800 block of East State Street at 1:03 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a suspicious vehicle. The vehicle had already left the area when officers arrived, and all appeared to be okay in the area.
-- Officers on patrol in the 2300 block of East State Street at 10:19 p.m. Monday observed a truck parked behind a closed business. Officers spoke with a woman who advised that she was dumpster diving and didn't have permission from the business to be there. She was sent on her way.
-- Officers responded to the 500 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 8:59 p.m. Monday for a reported dispute between sisters involving custody. The caller advised that she had been watching her nephew for days due to him not wanting to be near his mother and his sister was not there to retrieve her son; however, she had concerns about the juvenile's wellness and wanted the matter documented for court purposes. The caller was advised that despite her not wanting the juvenile to go with his mother she needed to allow her sister to take him. The juvenile left with his mother and the caller was advised that the matter would be documented.
-- Officers responded to the 200 block of South Broadway Avenue at 7:58 p.m. Monday for a reported person to be removed. The caller advised that an unknown man was on the property. Prior to officers' arrival the caller advised the man left southbound on South Broadway Avenue. Officers were unable to locate the man.
-- Officers responded to the first block of Court Drive at 7:04 p.m. Monday for a reported noise disturbance. Officers advised the person in question to turn down the music.
-- Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 5:47 p.m. Monday. They advised that while they were at a friend's house a man discharged a shotgun into the air. Officers advised that a follow-up will be made with the person.
-- Officers responded to the 900 block of East Fifth Street at 4:19 p.m. Monday to follow up on a prior incident. Officers gathered information for documentation and will forward the information to appropriate sources as applicable.
-- Officers responded to the 500 block of East Fourth Street at 12:43 p.m. Monday for a report of a known man constantly calling the caller. Officers gathered information and subsequently attempted to contact the person in question to advise them to stop contacting the caller or criminal charges could result. Nobody answered but a detailed voice message was left for the individual advising them of the complaint and potential criminal consequences.
-- Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 12:38 p.m. Monday regarding a trespass complaint. The caller advised that there have been ongoing issues with a neighbor and advised an unknown man was at the neighbor's house and walked onto their property. Officers spoke with the neighboring homeowner and the tenant to advised them of the complaint and attempt to identify the man in question, finding that they were lawn care contractor walking to check the property lines. Officers also advised the homeowner and tenant they were being criminally trespassed from the property.
