Sheriff’s Office

— A disturbance was reported at Mark’s Landing, Charleton Drive, Hanover Township, with a customer who began yelling and left his money and driver’s license there and left in his vehicle. Deputies checked the area, but did not find him. His money and license were recovered and put into evidence at the sheriff’s office.

— A deputy was dispatched at 6:45 p.m. Friday to Pine Hollow Road, Middleton Township, for a welfare check on a 4-year-old child requested by the father. A deputy spoke to a woman who said the child was fine and they were at a drive-in movie theater.

— A deputy returned a call regarding a hit/skip at Swift Mart, state Route 14, Unity Township, at 5:13 p.m. Friday, advising the caller how to proceed.

— A man on Walnut Grove Lane, Unity Township, reported at 3:39 p.m. Friday that his neighbor was on his property trying to pull up his no trespassing signs. A deputy spoke with the woman who said the signs were right on the property line, but she thought they may be on her property. They were both advised to contact attorneys.

— A residential alarm was reported at 3:26 a.m. Friday on Bandy Road, Knox Township, where a deputy checked the residence and found everything secure at ground level.

— Deputies were dispatched at 12:02 a.m. Friday to state Route 164, Center Township, for one to be removed. While en route, deputies were told the person left but was under the influence of drugs according to the caller. Nearby properties and the road were checked, but the person was not found.

— A man from East Palestine at 6:18 p.m. April 24 requested a welfare check on a woman on Rose Drive, Center Township. Dispatch spoke with the woman, who said she was fine and did not want any contact with the man.

— Boardman Police in Mahoning County at 10:04 a.m. April 24 asked a deputy to contact a resident on Homeworth Road, Knox Township due to her vehicle being involved in a hit skip in their jurisdiction in the Walmart parking lot in Boardman. The deputy had negative contact with the woman.

— A residential alarm was reported at 2:45 a.m. April 24 on Old Irondale Road, Yellow Creek Township. Deputies checked the residence and all out buildings from the ground level, with all appearing secure with no signs of tampering.

— Deputies were dispatched at 10:19 p.m. April 23 to the boat docks on Hanna Drive, Hanover Township, for a person making suicidal threats who had a firearm. Hanover Township EMS transported the person to a hospital in Mahoning County.

— A woman on Northview Lane, Hanover Township, reported a family member missing at 8:06 p.m. April 23. The family member was located at a hospital in Mahoning County.

— A domestic disturbance was reported at 4:47 a.m. Saturday on Township Line Road, Madison Township, where deputies spoke to a man who said the other party, a female, left after he called the sheriff’s office. He reported an argument ensued after she returned home from being out with friends and at one point, she allegedly intentionally ran her Jeep into the rear of his car, causing damage to the trunk and rear bumper. There was no damage to the Jeep. He did not wish to press charges for the damage to his vehicle and signed a refusal for the criminal investigation and domestic dispute for when she allegedly grabbed him.

— Deputies responded to a call about a disturbance at 11:52 p.m. Friday on Bayard Road, West Township, learning a woman was locked out of the outside door to an apartment and was pounding on the door and windows causing unnecessary noise. When deputies arrived, they found the woman was now inside the apartment. They spoke to all parties involved to confirm there was going to be no more trouble.

Lisbon

— Officers responded on Thursday at 7:36 a.m. to a crash in the parking lot of the Court House on South Market Street.

— Officers responded to Saltwell Road at 2:44 p.m. on Wednesday to a report of a suicidal female. North Star transported the woman to an area hospital.

— Officers responded to Jefferson Street at 3:51 p.m. on Wednesday for an alarm. The house and garage were secure.

— Officers responded on Tuesday at 5:13 p.m. to a complaint that a neighbor’s dog was defecating in a yard on East Chestnut Street. Officers were unable to make contact with the dog’s owner at the scene but the owner later called the station. He was advised to keep his dogs in his yard and was reminded of the village’s leash law. The owner said he was unaware of the situation and would make sure it didn’t happen again.

New Waterford

— Officers arrested a male subject on Village Park Drive on Thursday at 8:48 p.m. on an active warrant through the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office. The subject, no name, age or address provided, was then transported to the Columbiana County Jail.

— Officers responded on Wednesday at 9:25 p.m. to Waynewood Drive for a noise complaint.

— Officers responded Monday at 8:32 p.m. to the area of Elm Street for a mutual aid call with the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office.

Salem

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Franklin Avenue at 9:37 p.m. Sunday for a reported domestic in progress. The caller advised that the father of her children who has been staying with her took her phone, and she was trying to get it back which started an argument. Officers spoke with the male half who advised his brother was coming to pick him up so he could get away from the situation for the night. No injuries were observed.

— Officers responded to the 900 block of East State Street at 9:15 p.m. Sunday for a reported drive off. The caller advised that an SUV had driven off without paying and officers advised them that a report would be on file.

— Thomas Welsh, 39, Salem, was cited for failure to reinstate after officers observed him driving while suspended in the area of Sulea Drive and West Sixth Street at 8:24 p.m. Sunday. An inventory of the vehicle prior to being impounded by Kaiser’s Towing located illegal contraband which was transported to the police department for testing with further charges pending lab results.

— Officers responded to Centennial Park at 7:44 p.m. Sunday for a reported juvenile complaint. The caller advised that multiple juveniles were on the roof of the public bathroom damaging the roofing shingles. Officers questioned the juveniles who admitted to causing the damage and their parents responded to the scene to pick them up. Officers will follow up with the parks department at a later time to see if it wants to pursue criminal damaging charges.

— Officers responded to the 2300 block of East State Street at 5:48 p.m. Sunday for a report of a possible person with a gun. The caller advised that a man drove past him who appeared to be holding a firearm. He did not believe the man pointed it at him but wanted officers to be aware of the incident. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicle in question.

— Officers responded to the area of Woodland Avenue and Oak Street at 3:52 p.m. Sunday for a report of three juvenile randomly ringing doorbells. Officers located the juveniles, advising them of the complaint and to refrain from doing so any further. They advised they were sorry and would not do it anymore.

— Officers on patrol observed two juveniles playing around on the railroad tracks. Upon speaking with them officers found that there was an adult present who advised they were watching for trains. Officers advised them to stay clear of the tracks and watch from a safe distance.

— Officers responded to the 1300 block of East Pershing Street at 11:30 a.m. Sunday for a reported parking complaint. The caller advised that a white truck was parked in a driveway and over the sidewalk. Officers advised the owner of the complaint, and they advised they would move the vehicle.

— Officers responded to the 800 block of Washington Avenue at 9:57 a.m. Sunday for a reported civil complaint. The caller advised that they gave their cousin approximately $400 to save for them a few months ago. The cousin advised the caller had been staying in their house for free and told them to use the money for bills. Officers advised both that the matter was civil and needed to be taken to small claims court.

— Officers responded to the 900 block of West Wilson Street at 1:47 a.m. Sunday for a reported suspicious vehicle. The caller advised that she could see a vehicle with what appeared to be break lights activated shining off a garage and that they had been for some time. Officers located the vehicle behind a condo a found it to be a work truck with red lights along the tail gate. The lights were left on by accident and were turned off.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of East Euclid Street at 11:15 p.m. Saturday for a reported barking dog inside a residence. Officers attempted contact at the residence, but nobody was home.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 9:55 p.m. Saturday for a reported explosion. Officers checked the area, but nothing was observed.

— Officers responded to the 2200 block of Painter Road at 9:50 p.m. Saturday to assist the caller with a ride back to the police department. Officers had spoken with their grandmother early in the evening who advised that he was from out of state and his friend had left him stranded without a ride, and that the caller suffers from medical issues and had not been on his medication. They were brought back to the police department where the fire department and EMT checked him, and officers were able to secure a room for the night for him and make arrangements for him to get home to Tennessee the next day.

— Officers responded to the first block of Arch Street at 9:35 p.m. Saturday for a report of a loud explosion. Officers checked the surrounding area.

— Officers responded to the 1200 block of Cedar Ridge Drive at 9:10 p.m. Saturday for a possible domestic. The residents were advised that the person in question had been playing video games.

— Officers responded to the 1200 block of Cedar Ridge Drive at 2:38 p.m. Saturday for a report of criminal damage to a motor vehicle. The caller advised that he was out of town for a few days and when he returned his truck’s windshield was cracked. Photos were taken and a report number was given to the caller.

— Officers responded to the 1200 block of Cedar Ridge Drive at 2:07 a.m. Saturday for a reported civil issue. The caller advised that he wanted a person removed and officers advised the caller that he needs to legally evict the person due to him living there.

— Officers responded to the 1200 block of Jefferson Avenue at 12:39 a.m. Saturday for a reported domestic dispute. Officers spoke with the caller, his son, and his daughter who was crying hysterically, finding that the windows of the daughter’s vehicle, Gina Maniscalco, 28, Salem, were smashed out and blood was everywhere throughout the vehicle and the son was bleeding profusely. The caller advised that Maniscalco was heavily intoxicated and attempting to leave the property with her 4-year-old son in the car. As the caller and his son attempted to stop her from leaving the residence they smashed out the windows of the vehicle in order to retrieve the juvenile for his protection. After a brief investigation Maniscalco was taken into custody charged with OVI and endangering children and transported to the police department for processing and further testing before being transported to the Columbiana County Jail.
