Sheriff’s Office

— Deputies responded at 12:25 a.m. Thursday to Adams Road, Middleton Township, for a welfare check after a medical alert company advised being contacted for a non-medical issue and asked that law enforcement respond. Deputies made contact with the person who advised she was fine now and did not need any assistance. She further refused any medical care.

— A man on Hartley Road, Butler Township, reported at 9:46 p.m. Tuesday that he was having a mental health crisis. Deputies spoke with the man, who said he was fine and with family.

— A Louisville man called at 7:46 p.m. Tuesday to request a welfare check on his two children, reporting that he was unable to make contact with them and they may be home alone at their residence on Kurtz Road, West Township. A deputy spoke with the mother and the children, who were fine. She sent the man a message stating everything was fine.

— A man on Bye Road, Middleton Township, reported at 5:25 p.m. Tuesday that there was an attempted burglary at his residence, with no entry gained.

— Deputies responded at 6:57 a.m. Monday to East Ohio Lumber, state Route 644, Franklin Township, for suspicious activity. Deputies spoke with the caller and checked the immediate and surrounding areas, but didn’t find anyone.

— Suspicious activity was reported at 4:19 a.m. Monday at Southern Local. Deputies responded to Clarks Mill Road, Wellsville, spoke with the caller and received information on possible people, checking the immediate and surrounding area for the people, but with no contact.

— Deputies responded at 3:50 a.m. Monday to an alarm at the Pit Stop, state Route 164, Lisbon. Deputies checked the building and found everything to be secure.

— Deputies responded at 5:33 p.m. April 5 to East Liverpool Road, Madison Township, for a protection order violation, observing Joshua Gallimore, 37, East Liverpool Road, Lisbon, and the protected party walking along the property. Gallimore was immediately placed in handcuffs and advised he was under arrest for a felony protection order violation due to a prior conviction. He took off while being handcuffed behind his back and jumped down into a gully into the creek below. Deputies chased him before he was eventually rescued from the creek and was assisted to the top of the hill by fire department personnel. He was taken to the county jail and appeared in county Municipal Court where a preliminary/pretrial hearing was set for April 14. He’s charged with fourth-degree felonies of escape and resisting arrest, fifth-degree felonies of violating a protection order and obstructing official business and misdemeanor theft.

Highway Patrol

— Kimberly Temple, of North Market Street in Lisbon, was cited at 4:53 p.m. March 26 in Center Township for failure to maintain an assured clear distance. Temple rearended a vehicle driven by Emily Mitchell, of East Perry Street in Salem, in the intersection of state Route 45 and Saltwell.

— Christopher Portto, of Clifton Road in East Liverpool, was cited at 10:53 p.m. March 28 with failure to control after a single-vehicle crash while southbound on state Route 170.

— Taylor Brown, of Clark Street in East Palestine, was cited at 3:58 p.m. March 28 in Unity Township, after striking Logan Brown, of Taggart Drive in Wellsville near state Route 14 and Waterford Road.

— Ashley Felger, of Echo Dell Road in Rogers, was cited at 1:30 p.m. March 30 for failure to yield th right of way when turning left after she turned into oncoming traffic on Sprucevale Road and was struck by Brody Kirkbride, of Y&O Road in East Liverpool.

Leetonia

— Alexander Kelley, of Salem, was cited at 4:26 p.m. April 7 for going 60 in a 35 mph zone near state Route 344 and Madison. Kelley initially had consented to a search of his vehicle, after an officer noted a strong odor of marijuana from the vehicle as well as nervous passenger. A folding knife was located to the left of the passenger under an arm rest. Kelley then rescinded interior search permission; however, a K-9 didn’t alert anyway and Kelley showed a valid medical marijuana card as he is underage to possess it recreationally.

— Police responded to a loud music complaint regarding a car parked in the 600 block of Columbia at 8:22 p.m. April 8.

— Andrew Clark, no address listed, was cited at 8:41 p.m. April 7 for a lanes of travel violation after turning left from State to Hazel streets, striking a vehicle driven by Ronald Matthews, of Salem.

— A Samsung Galaxy cell phone was entered into found property at 2:30 p.m. April 6 after being found in front of the police department.

Columbiana

— Police responded at 7:38 p.m. April 5 to a domestic dispute in the first block of Woodland Avenue. The female half agreed to leave for the night.

— A private property crash was reported at 4:52 p.m. April 5 in the 200 block of Canterbury Court.

— An officer took a report for a private property crash at 2:59 p.m. April 5 in the 100 block of Bayshore Avenue.

— Police responded to a domestic dispute at 1:36 p.m. April 5 in the 200 block of North Elm Street.

— PNC Bank was the site of a private property crash at 1:11 pm. April 4 in the 100 block of South Main Street.

— An officer took a report for a driver at 1:41 p.m. April 2 at Drug Mart, where a single vehicle had struck a parking corral while attempting to park.

— A male subject consulted with an officer in regards to unsatisfactory transport from a nursing facility in the 900 block of East Park Avenue before 9:46 a.m. April 2 to the doctors’ office.

— A female subject reported suspicious activity at 3;29 p.m. March 30 on station.

Salem

— Officers responded to the 300 block of North Broadway Avenue at 12:08 p.m. Thursday for a reported parking complaint. Officers advised the caller of their options for dealing with the situation.

— Officers responded to the 2500 block of Bentley Drive at 8:31 a.m. Thursday for a report of a person being held against his will. Officers spoke to the staff who advised that the caller could leave if they wanted. Officers attempted to speak with the caller, but he did not want to speak with officers.

— Officers responded to the area of East School Street and East Seventh Street at 7:40 a.m. Thursday for a reported juvenile problem. Officers spoke with the parties involved and determined the matter to be a verbal dispute between family members over an umbrella. Officers advised them of their options.

— Officers on patrol in the area of East State Street and South Broadway Avenue at 11:15 p.m. Wednesday observed a woman with a suspended license driving a U-Haul truck. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and K-9 Chaz responded and was deployed, alerting to the presence of narcotic odor. Officers searched the vehicle, but no contraband was located and the driver Melissa Brink, 45, Salem, was cited for driving under suspension.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of North Broadway Avenue at 11:07 p.m. Tuesday for a parking complaint. Officers located the vehicle in question which was moved without incident.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of Franklin Avenue at 8:59 p.m. Tuesday for a reported 911 hang-up call. Contact was made with the homeowner who advised that the call was accidental.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Ohio Avenue with the fire department at 8:16 p.m. Tuesday for a medical call. The fire department and EMT were evaluating a man who fled on foot and while EMT initially advised they needed the man back they then advised they didn’t.

— Officers spoke a man and woman at the police department at 7:22 p.m. Wednesday for a reported dispute. They advised that they were followed by a man in the 2800 block of East State Street who approached aggressively and then followed them on foot as they drove away.

— Officers responded to the first block of Court Drive at 4:28 p.m. Wednesday for a reported juvenile complaint. Officers were advised that juveniles were playing music too loud. Officers spoke with the juveniles, advising them of the complaint and they agreed to turn the music down.

— Ella Golden, Leetonia, was cited for failure to yield after her vehicle failed to yield while exiting a private lot and was struck by a vehicle driven westbound on state Route 14 by Shannan Morris, Salem, at 4:24 p.m. Wednesday. No injuries were reported.

— Officers responded to the 1500 block of Cleveland Street at 2:15 p.m. Wednesday for a wellness check. Officers located a man that was confused and lost and were able to contact his wife to come pick him up.

— Officers responded to the 700 block of West State Street at 2:14 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a possible theft. Officers found that the caller had already left when they arrived and attempted unsuccessfully to contact the caller.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of West Perry Street at 11:42 a.m. Wednesday for a reported verbal dispute. The caller advised that a person had driven too fast through the parking lot and that he had confronted them and wanted a report on file.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of South Broadway Avenue at 11:08 a.m. Wednesday for a wellness check. Officers were advised that a person was outside yelling for help. Officers checked the area but did not locate anyone yelling for help and other people in the area advised they had not seen any woman yelling for help.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of South Madison Avenue at 9:11 a.m. Wednesday for a report of an illegally parked vehicle. Officers located the vehicle in question and spoke with the owner and advised them to move the vehicle.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of South Madison Avenue at 1:51 a.m. Friday for a reported alarm. Officers checked the area and determined everything was okay and that it was a stereo alarm and assisted the homeowner with fixing it.

— Officers responded to the area of South Ellsworth Avenue and East State Street at 9:46 p.m. Thursday for a noise complaint. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate anyone in the area.

— Officers responded to the area of West State Street and Benton Road at 8:26 p.m. Thursday for a reported reckless operator. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.

— Officers responded to the area of North Union Avenue and East Third Street at 6:06 p.m. Thursday for a reported parking complaint. Officers located the vehicle in question and the owner moved it.
