— Officers responded to the 600 block of Prospect Street at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a grocery order being sent to the wrong address. The caller advised that he had knocked on the door of his neighbor where the groceries were dropped off but did not get an answer. Officers spoke with the neighbor and the caller retrieved his groceries.

— Officers on patrol in the area of Penn Avenue and Walnut Street at 2:02 p.m. Tuesday observed a vehicle that was illegally parked. Officers spoke with the owner who advised they would move the vehicle.

— Nancy McNeal, Salem, was cited for failure to yield after her southbound vehicle on North Broadway Avenue failed to yield to traffic, striking a vehicle driven eastbound on East Second Street by Daniel Baxter, Salem, at 11:50 a.m. Tuesday.

— Officers on patrol in the area of Southeast Boulevard and Oak Street at 10:32 a.m. Tuesday observed a vehicle parked in a prohibited parking zone. Officers spoke with the driver who moved the vehicle to a legal parking spot.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of Buckeye Avenue at 7:08 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a possible threatening message that had been observed on social media. The message had referenced Salem and a high school, but it was no longer available to view, and it could not be verified if the message was current or pertained to Salem, Ohio. No other reports were received and officers gathered what little information was available which was relayed to other officers, the school resource officer and high school administration. As a precaution extra officers were present and patrolled the high school with no issues nor anything to substantiate any sort of threat found after thorough investigation.

— Officers responded to the 1800 block of Goshen Road at 2:36 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a suspicious person. The caller advised that someone was banging on their door. Due to the address being outside officers’ jurisdiction, the Perry Township Police Department was contacted, and officers checked the surrounding areas that were within the city’s jurisdiction.

— Officers responded to the 1300 block of Cleveland Street at 6:17 p.m. Monday for a speak with officer report. The caller advised that she kicked her daughter out, but she keeps trying to come back to the residence with a house key. Officers advised the caller that she needs to legally evict her daughter due to her living there for a few years. Officers also spoke with the landlord, and she stated he would go through the process in the morning.

— Officers responded to the 1800 block of Shady Lane at 5:51 p.m. Monday for a reported custody dispute. Officers explained their options to both parties.

— Officers responded to the 900 block of West State Street at 5:33 p.m. Monday to provide traffic control at the intersection of West State and Georgetown Road.

— Officers responded to the 1900 block of East State Street at 3:36 p.m. Monday for a warrant check. Officers spoke with the man who advised that he needed to stay at the hospital for medical treatment and was waiting to be transferred to Canton for surgery.

— Officers responded to the 900 block of Franklin Avenue at 3:22 p.m. Monday for a reported juvenile complaint. The mother advised the juvenile was acting out with behavioral issues. When officers arrived, they observed the juvenile to be experiencing a possible mental health crisis, and the fire department was contacted to respond. The juvenile was transported to an appropriate medical facility for further evaluation.

— Officers responded to the 1200 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 12:45 a.m. Wednesday for a report of suspicious activity. The caller advised that someone banged on her door and was yelling outside. Officers checked the area but did not locate anyone.

— Officers responded to the 800 block of East third Street at 10:45 p.m. Tuesday for a report of an unwanted person. The caller advised that while she was leaving for work, she observed her ex drive by her house. Officers checked the area along with several side streets but were unable to locate them.

— Officers responded to the 1900 block of Merle Road at 10:35 p.m. Tuesday. The caller advised that a vehicle parked on the roadway was blocking a garbage truck from picking up their trash. Officers observed no parking violation, and the caller was advised to contact zoning to look into the matter.

— Officers responded to the 1800 block of Cleveland Street at 10:06 p.m. Tuesday. Officers spoke with the homeowner who advised everything was okay and that they had called by accident.

— Officers on patrol in the 2800 block of East State Street at 5:12 p.m. Tuesday observed a vehicle parked in the fire lane at Wal-Mart. Officers located the driver and advised them that the vehicle needed to be moved.

— Merit Rance, Leetonia, was cited for failure to yield after his vehicle failed to yield from a private business on Cunningham Road striking a vehicle driven by Gina Maniscalco, Salem, at 5:04 p.m. Tuesday. No injuries were reported.

— Officers responded to the 2400 block of East State Street at 4:20 p.m. Tuesday for a report of road rage. The caller advised a man driving a truck yelled at him and his son then cut them off in the pharmacy line, nearly striking their vehicle. The man left prior to officers’ arrival but officers will follow up with them in the near future.

— Officers responded to the 1400 block of East Pershing Street at 3:54 p.m. Tuesday for a wellness check. Officers contacted the woman in question by phone, advising her of the complaint, and she advised that she hadn’t been home all day.
