Sheriff’s Office

— A resident on U.S. Route 30, Center Township, at 6:28 p.m. Wednesday requested deputies remove a woman from his residence and property. She does not live there and he said his son has told her multiple times to leave. Upon deputies arriving, she was leaving in her vehicle.

— The Ohio State Highway Patrol reported at 4:21 p.m. Wednesday that a suspicious male was in the 12900 block of state Route 45, Madison Township, alongside the road asking for gas. A deputy checked the area, but didn’t find anyone.

Columbiana

— Officers took a private property crash report at 8:04 a.m. March 21 in the Camelot Apartments parking lot.

— A lost wallet was found in the intersection of West Park Avenue and Pearl and turned into police at 7:12 a.m. March 20. After the owner was identified, it was reunited with the subject.

— Police responded at 6:20 a.m. to the intersection of Creek and Metz roads in New Waterford at the request of the Ohio State Highway Patrol for a possibly intoxicated subject. After the patrol arrived the subject for OVI, he was transported to Columbiana Police Department for further testing. No other information was available.

— A female subject at Manor Apartments spoke to an officer at 10:52 a.m. March 19 about her missing granddaughter. She was supposed to stay at a friend’s house and then go to school together the following day, but she hasn’t seen her since.

— A city resident came on station at 9:29 p.m. March 18 to report she was being harassed online by a male via social media and false reviews to her business.

— Dillon Lockhart, of Wellsville, was cited at 2:19 p.m. March 18 in the area of Park Avenue and Lakeview Drive for driving under suspension following a traffic stop.

— Debra Farkas, of Hanoverton, was arrested at 9:40 a.m. March 18 on charges of obstructing official business, resisting arrest and a marked lanes’ violation, after she allegedly attempted to drive away from a traffic stop in the 1100 block of State Route 14.

— A Hawkins Lane resident reported at 7:38 p.m. March 17 that someone was banging on his door in the early hours.

— Police responded at 7:53 p.m. March 16 to the 44000 block of Heck Road after an Amazon driver called to report being threatened by a resident holding a shotgun.

— A Birdfish patron reported shortly after noon March 16 that his vehicle had been hit while at the business establishment. A witness put a note on his vehicle.

— An employee of Duke and Duchess reported that a shirtless, tattooed white male stole a tall boy of Bud Ice shortly before 1:29 a.m. March 16.

Salem

— Officers spoke to a man at the police department at 7:39 p.m. Monday regarding a report of fraud. The man advised that his ex-wife had sent herself money through his bank account which she should not have access to. Officers advised the caller that the case would be sent to the prosecutor’s office for review.

— Officers responded to the 1600 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 3:55 p.m. Monday to speak with the caller regarding a restraining order. Officers advised the caller of the process to obtain an order.

— Officers responded to the 1200 block of Mound Street at 2:55 p.m. Monday for a wellness check. Nobody answered the door at the residence and dispatch did not have a good number for the person in questions.

— Officers spoke with a person at the police department at 10:05 a.m. Monday for a reported civil matter. The woman advised her doctor’s office terminated her care due to violating an office policy. The woman advised that she wanted a report on file for possible legal action against the doctor’s office.

— The school resource officer was advised of an issue with a student at 9:59 a.m. Monday. Officers stood by while the student calmed down so he could go to class.

— The school resource officer was advised of an issue with a student at 9:54 a.m. Monday. The issue was found to be a behavioral problem which led to a medical issue and their mother responded and took them to the hospital.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 7:36 a.m. Monday for a wellness check. Officers spoke with the person in question who advised that they were fine and were experiencing anxiety. Officers offered them medical attention, which they denied.

— Officers responded to the 800 block of East Fourth Street at 10:59 p.m. Tuesday for a wellness check. Officers knocked on the door for several minutes but were unable to contact them.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of Vine Avenue at 10:47 p.m. Tuesday for a wellness check. Officers were able to contact the person in question and advised them to contact the caller.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of West Seventh Street at 9:07 p.m. Tuesday for a reported assault. The caller advised that they were thrown to the ground by a person who then walked down the road. Officers met the man down the road from the residence and he advised that the caller was pushing him and when he pushed her back, she had fallen. Officers spoke with the caller who advised they didn’t want to pursue charges and just wanted him trespassed. Officers had the man sign a trespass notice and he left.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of South Lundy Avenue at 8:41 p.m. Tuesday for a reported suspicious person. Officers were advised of a person walking and shadow boxing with others around. Officers spoke with the juvenile in question who advised another group of juveniles were bothering him and that shadow boxing helps him calm down. Officers spoke with the juvenile some more until he had calmed down and he then walked home.

— Officers spoke to a juvenile at the police department at 7:17 p.m. Tuesday regarding a dispute in the 1200 block of Robin Avenue. Officers spoke with the other parties over the phone who provided conflicting stories, and the guardian of the juvenile was advised of their options.

— Officers spoke with a person at the police department at 1:12 p.m. Tuesday who advised that when they went to file their 2024 taxes, they were advised that someone else had already filed them under their name. Officers advised them that a police report would be made.

— Officers responded to the area of Continental Drive and Lexington Avenue at 12:06 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a junk vehicle. The vehicle appeared to be regularly driven but did have an expired registration and a warning tag was placed on the door of the residence and if the issue is not addressed in the near future a parking ticket will be issued.

— Officers responded to the 1600 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 11:50 a.m. Tuesday for an ongoing dispute. Officers spoke with the caller who advised that they have an ongoing issue with their neighbor and wanted it documented that multiple vehicles pull in the neighbor’s driveway and honk the horn for a couple of minutes then leave and that they had video of the incidents and just wanted it on file.

— Officers responded to the 2700 block of East State Street at 11:29 a.m. Tuesday for a report of counterfeit money. A man paid for sporting goods equipment totaling $400 and after the sale one of the $100 bills given was found to be fake. When questioned the man had no idea the money would have been counterfeit and that he would return later in the day to give the amount still owed. Officers seized the counterfeit bill.

— Officers spoke with a person at the police department at 10:41 a.m. Tuesday who advised that they had received a letter from a casino in Philadelphia about an unknown person using their identity and bank card. They also advised that they had already contacted their bank and been advised to get a police report. The person just wanted a report on file.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Franklin Avenue at 10:26 a.m. Tuesday for a report of harassment. The caller advised that an unknown man was messaging her inappropriate and derogatory messages on social media and asked officers to advise the man to stop contacting her. Officers spoke with the man advising him to cease all contact and that if his behavior continued, he could face possible charges.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of East State Street at 5:48 a.m. Tuesday for a report of vandalism. The caller advised that a power cord leading to a freezer truck with consumable goods was unplugged from the outside and that a dumpster was pushed into the roadway to access the cord. Extra patrol will be provided in the area where the incident took place.

Perry Township

— Officers responded to the 2200 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 5:50 p.m. Monday for a report of the caller’s daughter being harassed by another juvenile. Officers spoke with the other juvenile and their guardian advising them to stop their actions.

— Michelle Dangelo, 66, Salem, was cited for failure to yield after their vehicle on Cunningham Road failed to yield at the intersection and was struck by a vehicle driven eastbound on state Route 344 by Ronald Richards Jr., 49, Salem, at 12:26 p.m. Monday Richards was transported for treatment by the Green Township Fire Department.

— Officers responded to the 1700 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 10:42 p.m. Sunday for a trespass complaint. Officers spoke with the person in question, advising them of the trespass notice.

— Officers responded to the area of Lincoln Avenue and East Pidgeon Road at 11:01 p.m. Saturday for a reported reckless operator entering the township. Officers checked the surrounding areas for the vehicle.

— Officers responded to the 1800 block of Cliff Drive at 8:47 p.m. Saturday for a report of am out of control man. The man refused medical treatment after being recently transported twice for substance use.

— Officers responded to Benton Road at 6:24 p.m. Saturday for a crash involving an Alliance police cruiser. The Ohio State Highway Patrol was dispatched to take the report. Officers stood by to assist as needed and no injuries were reported.
