Salem
— Officers responded to the 200 block of Rose Avenue at 6:41 p.m. Tuesday for a report of possible menacing. The caller advised that a person known to her had been contacting her though Facebook and threatened to “pull up” at her home. After reviewing all contact between the two it was determined that the caller also had a large part in the interaction. The caller was advised to block the person and contact officers if the person was ever seen in the area.
— Officers responded to the 200 block of South Union Avenue at 6:41 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a person that was bitten by a neighbor’s dog. Officers found that the person had not actually been bitten but come close. Officers attempted to contact the owner to advise them of the complaint and to control their animals but were unable to do so.
— Officers responded with the fire department to the 500 block of East Fourth Street at 5:26 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a vehicle leaking fluids. Officers located the vehicle advising the owner of the issue and they made arrangements to remedy the situation.
— Officers responded to the 1700 block of Oak Street at 3:46 p.m. Tuesday for a reported neighbor dispute. The caller advised that there has been an ongoing issue with a neighbor videotaping him and coming onto his property. The caller was advised that it was not illegal to video tape them but that the neighbors could be trespassed from his party. A trespass form was filled out and the neighbor was advised that if they went onto the caller’s property, she could face criminal charges.
— Officers on patrol in the 500 block of East Fourth Street at 3:28 a.m. Friday responded to a wellness check. The caller advised his girlfriend texted him that she was hurt and did not text again. Officers spoke with her, and she advised that she was okay, and the text was in relation to a tooth that hurt.
— Brianna Crimmins, 25, Salem, was cited for failure to yield after her northbound vehicle on South Ellsworth Avenue struck a vehicle driven eastbound on West Pershing Street by Ryan Wilson, 47, Salineville, at 7:53 p.m. Thursday. Wilson was transported to the Salem Regional Medical Center for evaluation.
— Officers responded to the area of South Ellsworth Avenue at 4:06 p.m. Thursday for a wellness check on a person slumped over on a bike. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the person in question.
— Officers responded to the 800 block of West State Street at 11:54 a.m. Thursday for a report of two people yelling at each other from their vehicles and blocking the entrance of a business. Officers checked the parking lot of the business but did not locate any vehicles matching the description given.
— Officers responded to the 1800 block of East State Street at 11:07 a.m. Thursday for a reported person to be removed. The caller advised that a woman was sitting in the parking lot of the business and has a history of stealing DoorDash deliveries, and they wanted them trespassed from the location. Officers spoke with the woman, advising her of the complaint and that she was criminally trespassed from the business and to leave the property, which she did without issue.
— Officers on patrol observed a person pushing a grocery cart from a local business at 9:36 a.m. Thursday. Officers advised them they needed to return the cart to the store before facing charges for theft.
Goshen Police District
— Officers observing traffic in the area of Youngstown Salem Road and West South Range Road conducted a registration check on a vehicle which showed the owner to have an active felony warrant out of the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office at 6:01 p.m. Monday. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle, confirming the warrant and taking Darius Ruffner, 20, Salem, into custody and transporting him to the Columbiana County Jail.
— Officers responded to several locations throughout the township for reports of trees down in the roadway Sunday. Officers confirmed the location of the trees which were removed by the fire department.
— Officers responded to the 14000 block of Alliance Salem Road at 6:50 p.m. Sunday for a report of a telephone pole falling down. Officers observed the pole hanging over in the yard of a residence. Officers contacted Ohio Edison who responded to address the issue.
