Sheriff’s Office

— A man on Latta Road, Unity Township, reported at 7:40 p.m. Wednesday that he had a physical altercation in East Palestine earlier in the day with two other men, with East Palestine police arriving. Now he said the men are in a vehicle driving past his residence multiple times. A deputy checked the area, but found nothing.

— A woman on Bowman Road, Knox Township reported at 6:05 p.m. Wednesday that the mother of her boyfriend’s children was parked in the driveway refusing to leave. While a deputy was en route, she left in her vehicle. The deputy checked the area, with negative contact. He spoke to the woman’s boyfriend, who said the other female was supposed to drop off the children and leave, but would not leave due to him not being there. She left with the children before he arrived and he said the children were supposed to be spending time with him from 6 to 9 p.m. per court order.

— A woman on Dunn Road, Madison Township reported at 3:34 p.m. Wednesday that juveniles were riding dirt bikes up and down the road. A deputy checked and didn’t find any juveniles on dirt bikes on the road.

Perry Township

— Officers responded to the 1700 block of Harding Avenue at 10:06 p.m. Friday for an ongoing neighbor dispute. The caller advised his neighbor had a girl come over and she was parked in their designated spot. Officers advised them that no legal action could be taken at that time, and they should forward the matter to their landlord.

— Officers responded to the 1600 block of Van Buren Avenue at 7:09 p.m. Friday for a report of ongoing issues regarding a tractor. The caller provided documentation that showed ownership of the tractor in question and said that she wanted it returned. The other party was advised that he needed to return the tractor by the next day, and he advised that he had an engine and other items he needed returned as well. The caller agreed they could have the items back when he drops the tractor off on Saturday.

New Waterford

— Officers responded to the 46000 block of Church Street at 1:38 p.m. Monday in reference to a parking complaint.

— An officer responded to the 3900 block of West Main Street at 9:56 a.m. Monday in reference to a possible drug item found in a residence. The officer collected the drug item and took it to the station.

Wellsville

— Officers advised an employee of Brown’s Towing that he was not permitted to place a crashed vehicle per village ordinance on the street after the employee called police on March 7 requesting officer presence when he returns the crashed car to the owner at this Clark Avenue residence. The vehicle owner told police he had a dispute with the insurance company and the insurance company said they were returning, but he doesn’t want the car returned. Officers told the towing company it was a civil matter between the owner of the car and the insurance company.

— Vincent Wilt, age and address not provided, was arrested and charged with aggravating menacing after police received a report that he had left multiple threatening voicemails for another male including threats to kill him. After listening to the messages, police went to an Aten Avenue residence and asked Wilt to come to the station with them for questioning, which he agreed to. After arriving at the station Wilt was read his Miranda Rights and placed under arrest on March 9.

— Dana Duffield was charged with theft after a residence showed police video footage on March 9 of Duffield taking a package delivered by Walmart off the porch of a residence on Broadway Street. The resident called the police and showed them the footage.

Columbiana

— Officers responded at 6:04 p.m. March 15 to the 200 block of East Friend Street for a domestic in progress.

— Chad Kaminski, of Columbiana, was arrested at 12:47 a.m. March 15 on a second count of disorderly conduct, after being released on a summons for the first charge. He had kicked an interior door within the police department and yelled profanities while attempting to leave. Kaminski had received the initial charge a few hours earlier, after police responded to the Best Western for a report of suspicious activity regarding an older adult male with a suspected juvenile female who appeared under the influence. Police confirmed the female was indeed of age but due to her intoxication level, she was unable to tell officers basic information regarding her identity. Kaminski became increasingly more disorderly, causing alarm to guests and drawing the first disorderly conduct.

— Police responded to a private property crash in the first block of West Park Avenue at 4:49 p.m. March 14.

— Taylor Saunders was cited at 5:30 p.m. March 12 on charges of driving under suspension and expired registration. The plates were confiscated and vehicle towed.

— A female complainant came on station at 2:52 pm. March 12 regarding ongoing problems with her estranged husband.

— Jeremy McNish, of Washingtonville, was cited at 10:13 p.m. March 11 for driving under suspension, after a routine traffic stop near County Line Road and Saybrook Boulevard.

— Police responded at 3:32 pm. March 11 to a private property crash in the 14000 block of South Avenue Extension.

— A zoning violation was given to the homeowner at 145 Stanton Drive at 3:28 p.m. March 11. He will need to appear in city mayor’s court on the minor misdemeanor infraction.

— An employee at a fast food establishment in the 2200 block of County Line Road reported at 4:42 p.m. March 10 the receipt of multiple prank phone calls to the business.

— Rodney McMeans was cited at 3:05 p.m. March 10 in the area of East Railroad and South Elm streets for a stop sign violation and driving under suspension.

— A city resident reported a scam on station at 7:37 p.m. March 9 in which he lost several thousand dollars.

— Dakota Rodgers, of East Palestine, was cited at 7:28 p.m. March 9 for driving under suspension and speed, after a traffic stop in the 200 block of East State Route 14.

Salem

— Officers responded to the 700 block of East Fifth Street at 1:44 a.m. Thursday for a noise complaint. Officers could hear music from the apartment when they arrived and rang the doorbell, but no contact was made. The music was turned off while officers were present, and a neighbor was advised to call back if they hear it again.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of Reilly Avenue at 7:06 p.m. Wednesday for a reported juvenile riding a motorized scooter on the track at Sebo Stadium. The juvenile departed prior to officers arrival.

— Officers responded to the 1200 block of Cleveland Street at 3:07 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a person screaming and the sound of an object falling to the ground. Officers found that a section of wooden fence had fallen over but no residents were home.

— Officers checked on an open door at a residence in the 200 block of South Howard Avenue at 2:47 p.m. Wednesday. Officers spoke with the new owner who was inside working on the residence.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 1:32 p.m. Wednesday for a report of possible identity fraud. The caller advised they had received a letter from the state income tax department saying they owe money from 2019. The caller believed there had been fraudulent activity due to not filing taxes since 2012. The caller was advised to contact the state income tax department to figure out what exactly the money is owed for. The caller was provided a report number and advised to follow up with the officer.

— Officers responded to the 2300 block of Painter Road at 12:22 p.m. Wednesday to check for a tree down on utility lines. The tree was located outside city limits and the lines were still intact but had been stretched down close to the ground by the weight of the tree. Dispatch notified Perry Township of the complaint.

— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 11:44 a.m. Wednesday regarding an ongoing situation with a family member who had previously filed a report with the department. The person advised that the family member has been making false police reports and requested a police report be made on their behalf. They also advised that the original report claimed that they were harassing the family member at their work but that they only visit the workplace because their spouse works there as well. Officers advised that a report would be made.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of Vine Avenue at 11:11 a.m. Wednesday for a wellness check on a woman known to have an active warrant through the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office. Officers spoke with the woman Nancymarie Garwood, 41, Salem, taking her into custody and transporting her to the Columbiana County Jail.

— Officers responded to the 900 block of West Wilson Street at 7:54 a.m. Wednesday for an unknown issue. Officers were advised that the caller had called multiple times but would not give an explanation of what the problem was. Officers were unable to make contact with the person, but no further calls were made.

— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 9:48 p.m. Tuesday regarding the eviction process stemming from a previous call in the 1100 block of Maple Street. The process was explained, and officers responded back to Maple Street so that the caller’s son could retrieve his wallet and work keys without further incident.

— Officers on patrol in the area of South Lincoln Avenue and East Euclid Street at 8:18 p.m. Tuesday observed a vehicle commit multiple traffic violations. Officers conducted a traffic stop during which Patrolman LaRosa and K-9 Fero were requested to respond and K-9 Fero alerted to the presence of narcotic odor. A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted with no contraband recovered and officers issued a written warning for the traffic violations.
