Columbiana

— Timothy Lindsay, of New Waterford, was arrested at 8:16 p.m. Feb. 15 on a charge of OVI, after a private property crash in the 44400 block of state Route 14.

— Allan Murphy, 32, of New Waterford was served at 8:05 p.m. Feb. 15 with a warrant out of Beaver Falls Police Department and cited for driving under suspension after a traffic stop in the 44000 block of state Route 14.

— A couple came on station at 4:13 p.m. Feb. 14 to consult with an officer regarding possible telecommunication harassment and stalking.

— An officer took a report at 11:20 p.m. Feb. 13 regarding a private property crash in the 100 block of state Route 14.

— Cory Reckner, of Columbiana, was issued a summons to appear in court, after officers observed him riding his motorcycle westbound on Pittsburgh Street at 10:40 p.m. Feb. 13 with no registration displayed on the rear. He was charged with driving under OVI suspension, no motorcycle endorsement and improper display of plates.

— Scott A. Johns, no address listed, was cited at 6:32 p.m. Feb. 12 for driving under suspension, after a traffic stop in the area of Elm and Salem streets. He was given a warning for two equipment violations.

— Stephanie Herstine, no address listed, was cited at 9:25 p.m. Feb. 11 in the area of state Route 14 and Creek Road for driving under suspension and a marked lane violation. Charges may be pending for drug paraphernalia and possession of drugs.

— Joseph Jackson, of Youngstown, was cited at 5:12 p.m. Feb. 9 in the area of state Routes 7 and 14 on charges of driving under suspension and expired registration. A passenger, Antwane McMeans, was served with an arrest warrant through Campbell police and transferred to their custody.

— Officers took a report for a private property crash at 1:05 p.m. Feb. 9 in the 600 block of state Route 7.

Salem

— While on the scene of another call in the 2700 block of East State Street at 1:03 a.m. Thursday an employee of the business requested a wellness check on a person sleeping in a vehicle. Officers spoke with the man who was okay but did not a have a valid license. Officers stood by until a valid driver took possession of the vehicle, and the man left the property.

— Officers responded to 2700 block of East State Street at 12:52 a.m. Thursday for a wellness check. The caller advised a man was passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle parked at a gas pump and that they were unable to wake him. Officers were able to wake the man up who advised he has a medical condition that makes him very fatigued, and he had not taken his medication. After being woken the man was okay and refused medical attention and no signs of impairment were observed.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of West Pershing Street at 12:24 a.m. Thursday for a report of criminal trespassing. The caller advised that a man was in the other half of the duplex they live in which is supposed to be vacant, and that they were sleeping downstairs in the basement. Officers located the man and contacted the property owner who advised that nobody was supposed to be in the residence and that he did not want them there. The property owner did not want to press charges, and the man was removed from the property and advised that he could face criminal charges if he returned.

— Officers responded to the 1300 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 10:39 p.m. Wednesday for a reported suspicious person. The caller advised a man carrying trash bags and pushing a bike had been in the dumpster. Officers located the man, Dillon Corfee, 24, Salem, in the area of East Ninth Street and South Ellsworth Avenue and found him to have an active warrant out of the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office taking him into custody and transporting him to the Columbiana County Jail.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of East Sixth Street at 8:20 p.m. Wednesday for a wellness check. Officers spoke with the person in question who advised they were okay and had just been taking a nap.

— Officers responded to the 900 block of North Union Avenue at 6:32 p.m. Wednesday for a wellness check. The person in question advised that they were playing music and everything was okay.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of West State Street at 4:58 p.m. Wednesday to assist the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force with the arrest of a man who was attempting to solicit a woman. The man was transported to the police department for processing and then transported to the Columbiana County Jail.

— Officer responded to the 1900 block of East State Street at 4:42 p.m. Wednesday for a reported assault. The victim, who is a nurse in the emergency room, advised that the man in question began flailing his arms around during a procedure and struck her in the face. Information was obtained and the matter will be sent to the prosecutor’s office for review.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of East State Street at 4:25 p.m. Wednesday to assist a man in gathering his belongings from a business he was trespassed from. The man gathered his belongings and left without incident.

— Officers responded to the 1400 block of Oak Street at 4:13 p.m. Wednesday to speak with an individual who had been going through a difficult time and needed somebody to talk to. Officers were able to contact a peer support group member who has been speaking with them recently who remained on the phone with her. Officers remained until no longer needed.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of West State Street at 4:05 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a possible scam. The caller advised that he received a call from someone claiming to work for Ohio Edison that said he was behind on payments. The caller paid the person on the phone and later discovered the source to be fraudulent. The caller was provided with a report number.

— Officers responded to the area of South Ellsworth Avenue and East Wilson Street at 2:09 p.m. Wednesday for a reported reckless operator. The caller advised that a vehicle was traveling less than 10 mph and was all over the roadway failing to stop at stop signs. Officers located the vehicle and spoke with the driver and did not observe any signs of impairment from the driver who advised they were just tired from working overnight. Officers advised them to be more cautious driving.

— Officers responded to the 900 block of East State Street at 1:01 p.m. Wednesday for a reported drive off. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicle and the store was provided with a report number.
