Sheriff’s Office
— A Hanover Township man reported at 4:14 p.m. Thursday that the driver side rear tire of his vehicle was slashed while parked in the 34000 block of Teegarden Road in Salem Township. The vehicle was towed to Sebring Tire Co. in Sebring by Reichenbach Towing.
— A deputy was dispatched at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday to Old Monroeville Road, Salineville, for a welfare check on a person. A deputy spoke with the person, who was with family members and was fine.
— A man on Rochester Road, West Township, reported at 10:48 p.m. Tuesday that his neighbor on School Street has a camera on the outside facing his residence and every time he walks outside a red light on the camera turns on. He was told to contact an attorney. On Sunday, the same man reported the neighbor has a protection order against him and every time he sees him, the neighbor throws his arms up in the air, flicks him off with the middle finger and tries to provoke him to say or do something. He said this has been going on since October 2024.
— Beaver Local School District officials at 3:13 p.m. Tuesday requested a welfare check on a student on West Point Road, Madison Township. Deputies spoke with the student, who was fine and with family.
— An East Liverpool woman requested a welfare check at 8:41 p.m. Jan. 18 on her daughter who lives in Hanover Township. A deputy spoke with the daughter, who was fine.
New Waterford
— Officers responded to the 46000 block of state Route 46 at 5:41 p.m. Wednesday in reference to a noise complaint for someone playing their music too loud. Officers spoke with the person playing the music and they agreed to turn it down.
— Officers at 1:56 p.m. Wednesday found a dog running around in the 46000 block of Crestview Road. Officers were able to return the dog safely to his residence.
— Officers responded to the 3700 block of Front Street at 11:10 p.m. Tuesday in reference to someone hitting a car in the backyard. Officers spoke with the residents of the home and made sure everything was okay before clearing the scene.
— Officers responded to the 3800 block of West Main Street at 9:30 p.m. Jan. 22 for a welfare check. Officers made contact with the person in question and made sure everything was okay before clearing the scene.
— Officers responded to the 3900 block of West Main Street at 8:22 p.m. Jan. 20 in reference to a dog being outside for an extended period of time in extreme weather conditions. Officers spoke with the dog owner and advised them to take the dog inside.
— Officers responded to the 46000 block of Allendale Avenue at 9:12 a.m. Jan. 20 to speak with a resident who was shoveling snow from a driveway into the middle of the roadway. The resident cleaned the snow off the roadway.
— Officers responded to the 46000 block of North State Street at 11:11 a.m. Jan. 19 to speak with someone about a civil matter.
Columbiana
— Jared Ault was arrested at 1:46 a.m. Jan. 25 on a charge of petty theft from Duke and Duchess.
— A identity theft victim reported at 3:29 p.m. Jan. 23 that her Social Security number had been compromised, so she has been placed under an extended fraud alert.
— An officer responded at 1:09 p.m. Jan. 23 to Columbiana Manor Apartments for an identity fraud investigation.
— Charles Harrison, of New Waterford, was cited at 4:35 p.m. Jan. 20 for driving under suspension and fictitious registration after a traffic stop on West Salem Street.
— Police investigated a reckless driver call at 4:22 p.m. Jan. 20 in th area of North Pearl Street.
Liverpool Township
— Issic Bickerstaff (age and address not provided) was issued a court date and citation for a stop sign violation following a Jan. 17 traffic stop on Anderson Boulevard.
— Elizabeth Schultz was issued a mandatory court date and citation for driving under suspension and no tail lights following a Jan 17 traffic stop on state Route 11. First Class Towing was called to impound the vehicle due to it being unsafe. The owner of the vehicle arrived at the traffic stop and First Class gave them a short time to figure out the taillights. After fixing a blown fuse and paying the towing company for the call out. The owner was able to take the vehicle.
— Jossiah Blackburn (age and address not provided) was issued a court date and citation for expired plates following a Jan. 17 traffic stop on Lisbon Street.
— Austin Lucas (age and address not provided) was issued a citation for speed following a Jan. 19 traffic stop on state Route 7.
— Timohty Neal Jr. (age and address not provided) was issued a court date and citations for speed and expired plates after being clocked at 80 mph in a 55-mph zone on state Route 7 on Jan. 19.
— A male called to report fencing along his rental property on Lisbon Street was damaged when a vehicle who left the scene hit the fencing.
— An officer responded to a single vehicle crash with a truck that slid over the hillside on Dunn Road on Jan. 20. The driver stated he only had liability insurance so he did not need a report. He requested a tow to get him out of the ditch and First Class Towing responded.
East Liverpool
— Officers took a report from a female who said someone messed with the door to her West 4th Street residence on Jan. 17, and her landlord refuses to fix it.
— Officers contacted the son of an intoxicated male who fell into the roadway on Harvey Avenue on Jan.17 to come pick him up. The male was holding onto a pole to stay upright and waved down the officers.
— A report was taking for drug activity at a West 9th Street residence on Jan. 17.
— Homer Linger, 49, (address not provided) was arrested on burglary charges and for an active warrant after police responded to a report of a burglary at 6th Street apartment on Jan 18.
— Officers found the Elks Lodge to be secure after responding to an alarm at that location on Jan. 18.
— Officers advised homeowners of a residence on McKinnon Avenue to keep the noise down or they would be cited for noise violation after responding to a complaint of loud music on Jan. 18.
— Officers advised a female who was found sitting in a vehicle at the wharf at 4:30 a.m. on Jan. 18 that the wharf closed at midnight and she would have to move along.
Perry Township
— Officers responded to the 2900 block of state Route 45 at 8:39 p.m. Thursday for a report of a suspicious vehicle backed up to a dumpster. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.
— Renee Kleinknecht, 48, New Middletown, was cited for failure to yield after his southbound vehicle on U.S. Route 62 failed to stop at a red light, striking a vehicle driven eastbound by Steven Calabrese, 72, Danbury, Connecticut, on West State Street, causing it to strike a vehicle driven by Jayden Herold, 22, Leetonia at 8:08 a.m. Thursday. All three drivers were treated on scene by the fire department and EMT, and Calabrese was transported to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Youngstown.
— Officers responded to the 2000 block of Lexington Avenue at 3:41 a.m. Thursday to assist Salem and Goshen Township officers with a fleeing vehicle. Officers assisted until no longer needed.
— Officers responded to the 1900 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 2:56 p.m. Tuesday for a wellness check at a residence where a sex offender is allegedly living with children. Officers were advised by a resident at that the man in question does not live there.
— Officers responded to Circle K at 10:04 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a person putting items on the gas pumps. Officers found the person to be an employee of the business.
— James Duffle Jr., 22, Canton, was cited for improper starting and backing after his westbound vehicle on East Pidgeon Road struck a vehicle driven westbound on East Pidgeon Road by Rob Sinsley, 44, Salem, at 9:54 a.m. Tuesday. No injuries were reported.
— David Donaldson, 46, Salem, was cited for left of center after his eastbound vehicle on state Route 45 went crossed the center line striking a vehicle driven westbound by Jo Anne Leonard, 70, Salem, and two mailboxes on the north side of the roadway at 9:22 a.m. Monday. The Fire Department and EMT responded, and Leonard was transported to Boardman Hospital.
Salem
— Officers responded to the 700 block of East Fifth Street at 11:27 p.m. Thursday for a reported medical issue. Officers collected the necessary information, and first responders determined everything to be okay.
— Officers on patrol in the 400 block of East Fifth Street at 11:01 p.m. Thursday located an unattended fire. Officers spoke with the resident and the fire department was contacted and responded to extinguish the fire.
— Officers responded to the 600 block of Arch Street at 10:18 p.m. Thursday for a report of multiple disorderly people. Officers spoke with the men in question who were intoxicated and given a ride back to their residence.
— Officers responded to the 100 block of West State Street at 9:58 p.m. Thursday for a medical call. Officers spoke with the man in question who advised that he did not need medical attention and was given a ride to his hotel.
— Officers responded to the 1300 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 8:28 p.m. Thursday for a speak with officer report. The caller advised that his neighbor came into his apartment after he opened the door for her, and that he did not want to pursue charges.
— Officers responded to the 600 block of East State Street at 7:02 p.m. Thursday for a wellness check. Officers were unable to locate the people in question.
— Officers responded to the 400 block of Reilly Avenue at 6:23 p.m. Thursday to check the area around Reilly Elementary for three people reported to be throwing things at cars. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate them.
— Officers responded to the 200 block of South Broadway Avenue at 5:51 p.m. Thursday to speak with a resident regarding a scam. Officers collected information and advised the caller to contact them if there were any other issues.
— Officers responded to the 200 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 5:35 p.m. Thursday for a reported animal complaint. The caller advised that he witnessed a person throw a wrench at a dog. Officers were unable to contact the person in question.
