Sheriff’s Office

— Deputies were dispatched at 11:20 p.m. Jan. 25 to Randel Road, Hanover Township, for a male making suicidal threats with a handgun. Hanover Township EMS transported the male to Aultman Alliance Community Hospital in Alliance.

Salem

— The school resource officer was advised by school administrators that a student had found an Ohio P-EBT card on the sidewalk while walking to school at 9:15 a.m. Thursday. The officer took the card to the police department for safekeeping.

— Officers responded to the area of West State Street and Georgetown Road at 8:18 a.m. Thursday to assist Perry Township officers with an accident. Officers provided traffic control until no longer needed.

— Officers responded to the 700 block of West Wilson Street at 4:45 a.m. Thursday for a reported suspicious vehicle. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicle in question.

— Officers responded to the area of Continental Drive and Lexington Drive at 2:55 a.m. Thursday to assist the Goshen Township police with pursuit of a vehicle. Officers located the vehicle at a nearby bed and breakfast and attempted contact, but nobody answered. Goshen Township police towed the vehicle through Sinsley Towing.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of Ohio Avenue at 5:09 p.m. Wednesday for a wellness check on a resident. Officers were able to contact the person in question who was found to be highly intoxicated and unable to care for herself or her child. The woman was transported to the emergency room by ambulance for evaluation and a family member was able to take custody of the child for the evening. Children Services was contacted and responded to the scene and charges are pending.

— Officers checked a sign in the 700 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, finding it had been run over. No vehicle or driver could be located at that time and the street department was notified to replace the sign.

— Officers spoke to a person by phone regarding a property matter at 2:44 p.m. Wednesday. Officers advised their options for dealing with the situation.

— Officers responded to the 700 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 2:15 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a person to be removed. Officers found the man, Philip Kelley, 37, Salem, had an active warrant out of Columbiana County and following confirmation of the warrant Kelley was taken into custody and later transported to the Columbiana County Jail.

— Officers on patrol in the 100 block of East State Street at 1:32 p.m. Wednesday observed a vehicle parked in the street obstructing traffic. Officers checked several local businesses but were unable to locate the owner of the vehicle and it was removed from the roadway by Sinsley Towing.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of East Sixth Street at 6:51 a.m. Wednesday for a reported ambulance needed. After speaking with the woman in question she was voluntarily transported to the emergency room by ambulance.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of East Sixth Street at 6:25 a.m. Wednesday for a reported speak with officer report. The caller advised that she wanted her husband removed from the residence and officers advised the caller could not do so.
