Sheriff’s Office
— A man on Depot Road, Center Township, reported at 7:26 p.m. Thursday that a woman from Salem was slandering him on social media. He was advised to contact Facebook and an attorney.
— Deputies were dispatched at 4:40 p.m. Thursday to Fork Road, Fairfield Township, for a welfare check on a woman, who told deputies she was fine.
— Deputies were dispatched at 6:56 p.m. Wednesday to Dunn Road, Madison Township, for two people walking around with flashlights. While en route, dispatch said to disregard the call, explaining that St. Clair Township police officers were out with the people in their jurisdiction on Cannons Mill Road. The people were tracking deer.
— A woman on U.S. Route 30, West Township, reported at 6:08 p.m. Wednesday that her ex-boyfriend was harassing her by calling from multiple different phone numbers and sending multiple messages through social media. Warrants for telecommunications harassment and aggravated menacing were issued out of Columbiana County Municipal Court for the Akron man.
— A man on state Route 344, Salem Township, reported at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday that he was receiving unwanted phone calls and emails from unknown people.
— A resident on Hamilton Road, Unity Township, reported at 4:05 p.m. Wednesday that his son was on the school bus when relatives of an East Palestine man called him on their cell phone and put him on speaker phone with the man who said he would break him in half. He was advised to contact the school and how to obtain a protection order on his son’s behalf.
— Deputies were dispatched at 3:08 a.m. Monday to state Route 170, Unity Township, for a disturbance between a man and his girlfriend. The caller would not give their name and was not at the residence. Deputies arrived and spoke with a relative who said the man and his girlfriend were not there.
Salem Township
— Nicole Lee Schaefer, 32, Youngstown, was cited for reasonable control following a one-vehicle crash on Lisbon Canfield Road at 5:25 p.m. Jan. 14 in which she was driving east and allegedly slid on snow and ice, crossing the center line and striking a telephone pole. No injuries were reported.
Highway Patrol
— Spencer Eckenrode, 21, Scio, Ohio, was cited for failure to control after his eastbound vehicle on state Route 39 lost control, crossed the center line and went off the left side of the roadway at 4:05 p.m. Tuesday in Salineville. No injuries were reported.
— Adam Stewart, 29, Wellsville, was cited for failure to control after his southbound vehicle on Spring Valley Road crossed the center line and went off the left side of the roadway, striking a tree, at 8 a.m. Monday in Wayne Township. No injuries were reported.
— Nicholas Hays, 22, Lisbon, was cited for driving under suspension and a seatbelt violation after his northbound vehicle on Dutchtown School Road went off the left side of the roadway, striking a utility pole and a tree, at 7:51 a.m. Jan. 12 in Elkrun Township. No injuries were reported.
— Domingo Francisco, 20, Salem, was cited for failure to control after his eastbound vehicle on Butcher Road went off the right side of the roadway, striking a ditch, at 5:16 p.m. Jan. 11 in Salem Township. No injuries were reported.
— Madyson Henderson, 17, East Liverpool, was cited for assured clear distance ahead after his southbound vehicle on state Route 7 struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Kenneth Cunningham, 31, Lisbon, at 8:21 p.m. Jan. 10 in the village of Rogers. No injuries were reported.
— Tonu Empfield, 32, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was cited for failure to control and driving under suspension after her eastbound vehicle traveled off of Township Road 1005 at 4:11 p.m. Jan. 10 in Madison Township. No injuries were reported.
— Christian Davis, 23, Lisbon, was cited for failure to control after his southbound vehicle on state Route 164 went off the right side of the roadway, striking a utility pole, at 2:25 p.m. Jan. 10 in Wayne Township. No Injuries were reported.
— Darion Baddeley, 18, Sebring, was cited for failure to yield after his eastbound vehicle on U.S. Route 62 failed to yield when attempting to turn onto Knox School Road, causing it to be struck by a vehicle driven west by Christopher Brock, 44, Salem, at 9:08 p.m. Jan. 9 in Knox township. No injuries were reported.
— Herbert May, 74, Lisbon, was cited for failure to yield after his northbound vehicle on Signal Road failed to stop at a stop sign causing it to be struck by a vehicle driven west on Crestview Road by Gary Bookman, 65, Negley, at 1:58 p.m. Jan. 9 in Fairfield Township. No injuries were reported.
— Wyatt Hooker, 20, Lisbon, was cited for failure to control after his southbound vehicle on Cunningham Road went off the right side of the roadway at 2:04 p.m. Jan. 8 in Salem Township. No injuries were reported.
— Colton Renforth, 19, Leetonia, was cited for driving left of center after his westbound vehicle on state Route 558 went left of center to pass a stopped vehicle, striking a vehicle driven east by Sara Crable, 41, East Palestine, at 3:59 p.m. Jan. 7 in Salem Township. No injuries were reported.
Salem
— Officers responded to the 800 block of Highland Avenue at 7:56 p.m. Wednesday for a possible water line break. The main leak was located in the 700 block of Highland and the water department was notified.
— Officers responded to the 500 block of North Howard Avenue at 3:42 p.m. Wednesday for a wellness check on a city resident. The person in question was found to be deceased and officers stood by until the coroner arrived.
— Officers responded to the 400 block of Benton Road at 3:31 p.m. Wednesday to assist the Perry Township Police Department.
— Officers responded to the 100 block of West State Street at 2:55 p.m. Wednesday to assist the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force. Officers stood by until no longer needed, and $80 cash was seized as evidence.
— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 2:44 p.m. Wednesday regarding telecommunications harassment. The caller advised that she had received unwanted messages from a person that were possibly threats. Officers advised the statements were not threats but they could attempt to contact them and advise them to stop. Officer spoke with the person who advised he understood and would not contact the caller unless it was for issues with their children.
— Officers responded to the 800 block of Aetna Street at 2:13 p.m. Wednesday for a wellness check. Officers were able to contact the person in question who advised he was fine.
— Officers responded to the 500 block of Aetna Street at 11:50 a.m. Wednesday for a wellness check on juveniles that did not come to school. Officers spoke with the guardian at the residence who advised that the juvenile’s mother did not send them to school due to the cold weather.
