Sheriff’s Office

— A Depot Road resident in Center Township called at 8:31 p.m. Thursday to request a report on file that he told another Depot Road resident three times now to not come onto his property.

— A Butler Township resident on Salem Alliance Road reported at 7:34 p.m. Thursday that her children’s father has been driving past her residence multiple times and calling and sending her unwanted messages for the past month. She was advised how to obtain a protection order. Earlier, at 7 p.m., she reported a man at a Knox Township residence was intoxicated and throwing items when she went to pick up her children. She was advised to contact an attorney.

— A woman on Grant Street in Center Township reported at 6:05 p.m. Thursday that her daughter’s father was in contempt of a custody order by not returning the daughter back to her residence. She was advised to contact the courts and an attorney.

— Deputies responded at 1:06 a.m. Thursday to the area of Sandy Creek and Rochester Road for a report of possible poachers and checked the area for a suspect vehicle, but the vehicle was not found. The Ohio Department of Natural Resources was made aware of the call. The vehicle was described as a black pickup with a cap and possibly four people inside. The vehicle was seen leaving the area prior to deputies arriving.

East Liverpool

— Officers responded to a report of threats at a Lincoln Avenue residence on Jan. 2.

— Officers assisted in getting a vehicle unstuck at a Riley Avenue residence on Dec. 3.

— Caitlin O’Brien, 33, address not provided, was arrested after a detective responding to a Lincoln Avenue for criminal trespass on Jan. 5. O’Brien was made to go to the hospital for treatment before being transported to jail. The detective noted in his report he did witness O’Brien attempt to cause physical harm to a city police officer by throwing a punch at his face.

— Officers arrived to a domestic situation at West 7th Street residence on Jan. 6, where they were met by the property owner who said she allows her son to live there but his girlfriend was not supposed to be there, and she wanted her removed. Since the female had been there for a year, the owner was told she would need to file an eviction.

— An unnamed driver was issued a citation and court date for a stop sign violation following a Jan. 6 traffic stop on Broadway Street.

— Officers responded to a Lincoln Avenue residence on Jane. 6 to assist the Columbiana County Drug Task Force.

— An unnamed driver was issued a court date and citation for expired plates following a Jan. 6 traffic stop on Walnut Street.

— Officers were told by the keyholder of the alumni center that they had been in touch with the alarm company to fix an issue after officers responded to an alarm at the location on Jan. 7.

Liverpool Township

— Dylan Bredeck, age and address not provided, was issued a citation and a mandatory court date for driving with a suspended license and illegal plates following a Dec. 27 traffic stop on Kountz Avenue. The vehicle was impounded by First Class Towing. The officer provided a courtesy ride home for occupants of the vehicle.

— Alexa Call, age and address not provided, was issued a citation and court date for marked lanes violation following a Dec. 27 traffic stop on Westfield Road.

— Haley Steves, age and address not provided, was issued a citation and a court date for driving under suspension following a Dec. 28 traffic stop on 6th Avenue. The officer allowed Steves to call her mother to come pick her up and after checking that her mother was valid allowed the mother to drive the vehicle home.

— Following a Dec. 28 traffic stop on Boring Lane for a driver who was having issues maintaining his lane, Bryan Malone, age and address not provided, was issued a citation and a mandatory court date for illegal plates. Passenger Christina Penn, age and address not provided, said she was not feeling well after being detained and was evaluated by NorthStar EMS and refused treatment. Penn was arrested for an outstanding warrant and obstructing justice. A white pill and a baggie of suspected meth found in Penn’s purse was submitted for evidence. The car was towed to impound by First Class Towing.

— Abby McKenzie, age and address not provided, was issued a citation and court date for speeding following a Dec. 28 traffic stop on state Route 7.

— Devonte James Pullie was issued a citation and court date for driving under suspension following a Dec. 28 traffic stop on Parkway Avenue for no license plate light, which he was giving a verbal warning for. The officer allowed Pullie to call his parents to pick him and the vehicle up.

— Roger Bailey, age and address not provided, was issued a citation and court date for expired plates following a Dec. 29 traffic stop on Westfield Road.

— Michael Poynter, age and address not provided, was cited for OVI and failure to control after officers responded to an overturned vehicle on Kingsridge Road on Dec. 30. Poynter who was transported by Lifeteam EMS to the hospital for evaluation told officers when asked if he had been drinking and how much that he had too much. First Class Towing towed the vehicle, and the fire department cleaned up loose glass from the scene.

Perry Township

— Officers responded on patrol in the area of North Ellsworth Avenue and State Street at 9:15 p.m. Sunday observed a two-vehicle accident. The Salem Police Department was advised and responded and officers stood by until no longer needed.

— Officers responded to the 4900 block of Whinnery Road at 1:55 p.m. Sunday to assist the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office with a warrant pick-up. Officers stood by while the woman in question was taken into custody for a warrant out of the Boardman Police Department.

— Officers responded to the 1700 block of Ansley Way at 10:21 a.m. Saturday for a report of child and dog abuse which occurred on Jan. 1. Officers spoke with the residents and then went to the 1100 block of Liberty Street to speak with the person in question and the matter is under investigation.

— Officers responded to the 1200 block of East Pidgeon Road at 5:34 a.m. Friday for a civil complaint over property and living arrangements. Officers advised both parties that the matter was civil, and the female half advised that if the male half was not willing to give her the phone back that she had given him she would have to take him to civil court.

— Officers responded to the 1700 block of Newgarden Avenue at 3:54 p.m. Friday for a wellness check on a missing juvenile from Smith Township. Officers spoke with a man who advised that he had not spoken to the juvenile in months and that she was not at the residence. Officers advised the Smith Township Police Department of the same.

— David Harris, 56, Youngstown, was cited for failure to control after his northbound vehicle on U.S. Route 62 failed to exit the interchange and went off the north side of the roadway at 6:12 p.m. Thursday. No injuries were reported, and the vehicle was towed from the scene by Biddle’s Towing.

— Officers responded to the 1100 block of Prospect Street at 4:41 p.m. Thursday for a wellness check on his daughter. The caller advised that his ex-wife was under the influence of alcohol. Officers spoke with her and did not find her to be intoxicated and found that the caller’s daughter did not want to be at the mother’s residence and wanted to be at her father’s residence. Officers advised the ex-wife to contact her attorney.

— Officers responded to the area of state Route 14 and U.S. Route 62 at 4:45 p.m. Jan. 1 for a report of a dog in the roadway. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the dog.

— Officers responded to the 1000 block of Liberty Street at 2:07 p.m. Jan. 1 for a report of a small dog running up and down the street. Officers checked the area but could not locate any dogs.

Salem

— Officers responded to the 1300 block of Fairview Avenue at 7:19 p.m. Wednesday for a reported runaway juvenile. Officers located the juvenile, and he was transported back to his residence; however, the juvenile requested an ambulance for transport to the hospital and the fire department and EMT responded to the scene. After medical personnel spoke with the child at length it was determined that he did not need to go to the hospital but just wanted to leave because he wanted snacks, and a snack was provided for him at the residence.

— Officers responded to the area of Hawley Avenue and East State Street at 5:58 p.m. Wednesday for a wellness check on a juvenile leaning on a tree. Officers spoke with the juvenile who advised his stepmother had yelled at him, so he ran away from home. The juvenile initially would not tell officers where he lived nor what had happened but after further conversation, he advised officers of his address and due to cold temperatures officers attempted to give him a ride back to the residence which was nearby. The juvenile then began to spring home while officers followed closely in cruisers and officers spoke with the juvenile’s stepmother who advised she didn’t know the juvenile had left and that the reason that he had was because she had asked him to help clean and when he didn’t, she had yelled at him.

— Officers responded to the 2400 block of East State Street at 6:50 p.m. Wednesday to speak with a possibly intoxicated driver. The driver was advised of the complaint, and she advised officers of a problem she was having with her windshield wipers, and no signs of impairment were observed.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of Newgarden Avenue at 6:14 p.m. Wednesday for a noise complaint. Officers spoke with both parties, who gave conflicting stories, and they were advised to try and keep it down.

— Officers spoke with a person at the police department at 5:11 p.m. Wednesday for a report of telecommunications harassment. The person advised that her brother sent her a harassing voicemail and she wants him to leave her alone, and that this had been an ongoing issue. Officers spoke with the brother who advised he will not contact her again.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of East Fourth Street at 3:22 p.m. Wednesday for a wellness check. The caller advised they had not seen their neighbor for a couple of days and officers were able to speak with the neighbor who advised they were fine.

— Officers responded to the 1700 block of East State Street at 1:02 a.m. Wednesday for a wellness check. Officers located the man in question and everything checked okay.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of Penn Avenue at 2:54 p.m. Tuesday for a wellness check on a man who was reportedly walking in the area. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate anyone who matched the description given.

— Officers responded to the 800 block of West State Street at 2:10 p.m. Tuesday for a reported road rage incident. Officers spoke with both drivers and found that a crash had almost occurred and the driver in question was apologizing for almost striking the other motorist.
