Sheriff’s Office

— Deputies were dispatched at 6:39 p.m. Thursday to Whinnery Road, Butler Township for a 911 hangup call and ended up taking Amanda Brewer into custody for domestic violence. She was taken to the Columbiana County jail and appeared Friday in county Municipal Court where a pretrial was set Jan. 16. Brewer was accused of allegedly slapping a man across the face and scratching his arms during the domestic.

— A deputy was dispatched at 4:55 p.m. Thursday to state Route 344 at Perry Grange Road in Salem Township for an elderly-related call of a person walking. The person was transported to their residence in Fairfield Township.

New Waterford

— Officers spoke with a resident of the 46000 block of state Route 46 at 9:41 p.m. Dec. 30 regarding a neighbor’s dog kennel blowing onto her property during recent high winds, causing damage to her home. Officers spoke with the kennel owner who said he would get the kennel removed from the complainant’s home as soon as possible.

— Officers responded to the 3000 block of Front Street at 7 a.m. Dec. 30 in reference to a telecommunications harassment complaint. Officers determined the voicemail was a scam.

— Brittany Ruf, 30, New Waterford, was arrested for assault after officers responded to the 3800 block of West Main Street at 9:18 a.m. Dec. 29 in reference to a disturbance involving two neighbors. Alexis Nicole Cusick, 33, New Waterford, was also charged with criminal trespass.
