-- Officers responded to the 1500 block of Southeast Boulevard at 12:21 p.m. Monday for a reported 911-hang-up-call. Officers were unable to contact the residence.
-- Officers responded to the 400 block of West State Street at 8:35 a.m. Monday for a recovered bicycle. The bike was located and brought back to the police department.
-- Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 8:33 a.m. Monday regarding receiving unwanted calls and messages from a person known to her. Offices spoke with the caller, and she was provided with options for dealing with the situation.
-- Officers responded to the 800 block of Superior Avenue at 6:41 a.m. Monday for a possible water main break. Officers located the break and the water department was notified.
-- Officers spoke to a person by phone at 8:23 p.m. Thursday who advised that she had some jewelry come up missing a believes a known man took it. The matter is under investigation.
-- Officers responded to the 1700 block of Quaker Lane at 5:11 p.m. Wednesday to assist the fire department while checking for a possible fire. The end of the street was blocked off while the incident was investigated and while checking the area a section of light displays was observed not to be illuminated. After further investigation the fire department found a section of melted extension cords and disconnected them.
-- Officers responded to the 1300 block of Fairview Avenue at 4:50 p.m. Wednesday for a reported runaway juvenile. Officers checked the area, locating the juvenile who was then returned to his residence.
-- Officers responded to the 900 block of Jennings Avenue at 4:40 p.m. Wednesday for a report of possible animal neglect. Officers were advised that a person had moved out of the residence a week ago and left two dogs behind and has not returned. Officers observed the dogs and dispatch attempted to contact the owner unsuccessfully. The matter will be forwarded to the housing department and the dog warden.
-- Officers responded to the 700 block of West Wilson Street at 2:51 p.m. Wednesday for a reported waterline break. Officers observed water leaking from inside the residence and the fire and water departments were called. Water to the residence was shut off and an attempt to contact the landlord was made.
-- Officers responded to the 1300 block of Fairview Avenue at 1:48 p.m. Wednesday for a reported theft. A juvenile at a residential care facility was gifted a hand-held electronic game system as a holiday gift from the facility which staff confirmed was the property of the facility purchased as a gift for the juvenile to use, and the juvenile's mother visited the facility later in the day and advised that she did not allow the juvenile to have the system because electronics make them behave violently and the mother took the game system, case and box. Officers subsequently spoke with the mother and advised her the system did not belong to her and the facility owner wanted it returned, and the mother advised that one of the care givers at the facility had told her she could take the game system. The mother promptly handed over the game system case and box all of which were then returned to the facility and the caregivers at the facility disputed telling her she could take the system and advised instead that she had departed with it without permission. Officers also advised the caregivers that the mother did not want the juvenile to have electronics and left a recording advising the same for the facility owner and the caregivers advised that based on their observations the opposite was true, and that electronic devices had drastically reduced the violent and turbulent behavior. Officers explained to all parties that the police had no place in determining the issue of the juvenile being permitted or prohibited from possessing the gift and that it was between them. A copy of the report was also forwarded to family services.
-- Officers responded to the 700 block of East Fifth Street at 9:24 a.m. Wednesday for a reported theft. Officers were advised that a military bag full of power tools was stolen from the bed of the caller's truck. Officers were advised the incident happened somewhere between 7 and 9:15 a.m., and officers advised him a police report would be made.
-- Officers responded to the 400 block of West Fourth Street at 9:10 a.m. Wednesday for a wellness check on the caller's father. Contact was made with him, and he advised that everything was fine, and he was advised to call his son.
-- Officers checked the area of West Fourth Street and Howard Avenue at 8:21 a.m. Wednesday for a report of a suspicious vehicle driving back and forth accelerating rapidly and slowing back down. Officers circled the area and parked near the intersection for approximately 10 minutes, but the vehicle did not return.
-- Officers responded to the 1600 block of Fairview Avenue at 8:03 a.m. Wednesday for a reported person to be removed. The caller advised that her ex's father was at her residence knocking on her doors and windows trying to get her to call his son. The person left prior to officers' arrival. Officers later contacted the man in question advising him not to return or he could possibly face charges.
-- Officers responded to the 300 block of East State Street at 1:46 a.m. Wednesday for a wellness check. Officers spoke with the person in question and determined he was not a harm to himself or anyone else and he agreed to keep it down while continuing his workout.
-- Officers responded to the 500 block of Wisconsin Avenue at 12:06 a.m. Wednesday for a wellness check for the Perry Township Police Department since they were unavailable at the time of the call. Officers spoke with the person in question and found there were no issues.
-- Officers responded to the 2200 block of East Pershing Street at 5:05 p.m. Tuesday for a reported verbal dispute. Officers spoke with both parties and were advised the dispute was over a personal issue, and nothing else was needed.
-- Officers responded to the 100 block of Brooklyn Avenue at 4:45 p.m. Tuesday for a report of harassment. The caller advised that someone was sending her unwanted messages, and she advised that she thought she knew who it was. Officers advised them to save all messages from the person and provided an email for her to send them to. She also had questions about obtaining a protection order and officers explained how she would obtain one. Officers attempted contact with the person at the number provided but were unable to speak with them.
-- Officers responded to the area of Franklin Avenue and Aetna Street at 3:48 p.m. Tuesday for a reported theft. The caller advised that he crashed his drone into the roadway and a white SUV pulled up to the drone and took it. He advised that the drone had GPS and that he would check it when he got home.
-- Officers responded to the 1400 block of Quaker Circle at 11:10 a.m. Tuesday for a report of possible criminal damaging. The owner advised that someone had tried to get into his vehicle the night before in the 700 block of North Union Avenue. The owner advised that there was no damage to the vehicle, and he just wanted a report to be made.
-- Officers responded to the 700 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 9:37 a.m. Tuesday for a wellness check. The caller advised that a patient was unable to contact his spouse and wanted officers to check on her. Officers were able to contact her and she was fine.
-- Officers responded to the 600 block of Franklin Avenue at 4:57 a.m. Tuesday to assist a pet store employee in getting a dog crate loaded into a vehicle. Officers assisted them until no longer needed.
-- Officers responded to the 1900 block of East State Street at 1:23 a.m. Tuesday to assist Ohio State Highway Patrol regarding a driver involved in an accident investigation. Officers attempted to speak with the driver as requested but could not due to them being out of the room for medical scans.
-- Officers responded to the 500 block of Franklin Avenue at 12:10 a.m. Tuesday for a reported domestic disturbance between child and parents. According to the caller the son broke into a small safe to get his cellphone back which had been taken from him due to poor behavior in school. Although the caller advised the juvenile has threatened harm to family members in the past nothing of the sort had occurred that evening. Officers spoke with the juvenile and advised him that if the behavior continues it could result in him being arrested and transported to the juvenile detention center. The son advised he understood, and the caller was advised to contact officers if his behavior did not change.
-- Officers responded to the 300 block of North Broadway Avenue at 8:38 p.m. Monday for a report of a suspicious person going through mailboxes at an apartment. Officers spoke with the person who denied the accusation and claimed that they did not do that and were attempting to retrieve a piece of trash.
-- Officers on patrol observed a suspicious vehicle on South Ellsworth Avenue near the railroad tracks. Officers were familiar with the occupants of the vehicle and spoke with them about the complaint.
-- Officers responded to the 200 block of East Fourth Street at 4:01 p.m. Monday for a reported possible theft. The caller advised that when she moved to her new apartment, she was missing paperwork, and that her old landlord had to have made a key for the new lock she had put in and taken it. Officers advised that a report would be made.
-- Officers responded with the fire department to the 200 block of North Cunningham Road for a fire alarm at 2:49 p.m. Monday. Officers stood by until no longer needed.
