Sheriff’s Office
— A deputy responded at 6:41 a.m. Wednesday to Pennex, Commerce Avenue, Leetonia, to investigate a vehicle in the parking lot which had been parking there with someone sitting in it for the past week or so. The deputy spoke with the vehicle occupant and identified him, confirming there were no warrants for him. He was advised he was not welcome on the premises and left without incident.
— A deputy responded at 1:13 a.m. Wednesday to the 100 block of Pine Street, Leetonia for a welfare check on a person who failed to show up for work. The deputy made contact and learned the person had slept in.
— An active alarm was reported at 3:57 a.m. Dec. 13 at Taco Bell, state Route 45, Lisbon. The premises was checked from ground level and found secure.
— Deputies were dispatched at 4:28 a.m. Dec. 11 to check on Sebring EMS medics who were on a scene at Buck Road, Knox Township, but not answering their radio. Deputies were told to disregard after being advised contact was made with the medics and they were fine.
Wellsville
— A male came to the police station to report a package delivered by FedEx stolen from his residence. He said he received notice that the package was delivered but when he checked for it was gone.
— No charges were filed after officers responded to a report of a fight on Dec. 8 at Rich’s Oil due to neither of the parties being present when officers arrived nor wanted to pursue the matter once officers identified those involved.
— A male reported parking a U-Haul in the 300 block of Main Street on Dec. 10. When he returned on Dec. 11, he noticed that the vehicle had apparently been hit and had damage to the hood and headlight.
— Officers filed crash reports after responding to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Ridge and Highland avenues on Dec. 16.
St. Clair Township
— Officers conducted a welfare check on a resident in the 15000 block of Pugh Road on Dec. 9. Officers spoke with the resident who told them she was fine.
— Officers advised a female on how to seek a protection order after they responded to her place of employment on Dec. 9 because her husband was giving her problems at work. They responded a second time when he returned. They were then called back out by the female who reported she left work and he was following her.
— Officers took a report of theft over the phone on Dec. 9, when a female called to report the lock had been cut from her storage unit at Bolt Storage.
— Officers responded to a private property crash on Dresden Avenue on Dec. 10
— Officers responded to Calcutta Health Care on Dec.10 for a patient.
— Officers assisted North Star EMS in dealing with a female who was heavily intoxicated and on anxiety medication saying she wanted to die on Dec.10
— Officers responded to a disabled vehicle on St. Clair Avenue on Dec.10. Calcutta Towing arrived and towed the vehicle for the owner.
— Officers planned to follow up to view security footage after a customer called them to Dunkin Donuts on Dec. 11 saying the cashier had her debit card too long and was writing down the information from her card. The cashier said she was clicking a pen while waiting for the machine to process the card and it was slow at doing it.
— Officers Contacted David Dawson of the Buckeye Water District on Dec. 11 after being notified that there was a lot of water coming from the water tower on Purinton Avenue. Dawson and another employee were able to take care of the problem.
— Officers responded to a possible domestic dispute on Glenn Street on Dec. 11. When they arrived, they spoke to a male and female who both stated nothing physical happened and the male left voluntarily.
Salem
— Officers responded to the 1200 block of Mound Street at 12:19 a.m. Thursday for a report of suspicious vehicles. Officers checked the area but did not observe anything unusual.
— Officers responded to the area of South Union Avenue and Oak Street at 9:58 p.m. Wednesday for a reported parking complaint. Officers located a work van parked too close too close to a driveway and a red parking ticket was left on the vehicle.
— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 7:08 p.m. Wednesday regarding an issue with fraud and receiving emails from companies they had no connection to. Officers advised them of their options and informed them that there would be a report on file in case anything else is needed.
— Officers responded to the 2200 block of East State Street at 6:16 p.m. Wednesday for a report of power lines down. Officers located the lines down running from one business to another and the fire department taped off the area. Ohio Edison was called to the scene to remove the lines.
— Officers responded to the 200 block of Continental Drive at 6:04 p.m. Wednesday for an investigation. Officers spoke with the caller, collecting the information and the matter is under investigation.
— Officers spoke with a person at the police department at 5:08 p.m. Wednesday regarding possible fraud. The caller advised that someone had cashed unauthorized checks and needed a report made. The caller provided documentation and was provided with a report number, and the case was turned over to the detective division.
— Officers responded to the 200 block of Ohio Avenue at 2:46 p.m. Wednesday for a reported runaway juvenile. The caller advised her juvenile son left the residence at 11:30 a.m. the day prior. Officers gathered all pertinent information, and the juvenile was entered into LEADS.
— The school resource officer was advised by school administration that a student was having personal issues, and they were in the process of contacting the parents. When the mother arrived at the school, they advised they were taking the student to Akron Children’s to be checked for their safety.
— Officers responded to the 100 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 12:50 p.m. Wednesday for a report of possible drug paraphernalia. Officers located a syringe in the parking lot and disposed of it at the police department.
— Officers responded to the 1800 block of East State Street at 12:42 p.m. Wednesday for a reported juvenile issue. Officers were advised that a person was driving with a small child in their lap. Officers located the vehicle and observed the child to be in a car seat.
— Officers responded to the 300 block of Fair Avenue at 12:24 p.m. Wednesday for a reported theft. The caller advised that within the last 24 hours someone had cut the screen to his car port and taken his toolbox. Officers documented the damage and advised the caller a report would be made.
