Sheriff’s Office
— A deputy was dispatched at 4:55 p.m. Thursday to the 22000 block of state Route 172, West Township, for a vehicle being driven recklessly eastbound. The deputy checked the area, but didn’t find the vehicle.
— Deputies at 7:57 p.m. Wednesday assisted Lisbon police with a domestic violence call involving two people on West Washington Street, Lisbon.
— Deputies and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources assisted Salineville police at 7:28 p.m. Wednesday with locating a person who was a suspect in their jurisdiction on Hazel Run Road, Washington Township. There was no contact with the person
— A preliminary hearing was reset to Jan. 9 in Columbiana County Municipal Court for Michael William Dailey, 40, North Lincoln Avenue, Salem, who was taken into custody at his home by deputies with assistance from Salem Police the night of Nov. 28. Deputies had been dispatched to Steubenville Pike Road, Center Township, at 1:42 a.m. Nov. 28 regarding a domestic and learned that a burglary and kidnapping had occurred. Dailey allegedly entered the residence where he was not wanted and took a child, trying to escape with the child. A physical confrontation took place between the homeowner and Dailey in attempts to get the child back, with the confrontation ending in the front yard where Dailey allegedly gave up the child to the mother and then left the scene. Dailey was charged with first-degree felony aggravated burglary and second-degree felony kidnapping.
Wellsville
— Officers took a report for a minor accident in the 1600 block of Commerce Street on Dec. 1. Both parties involved were advised a report would be filed and to follow up with their insurance companies.
Liverpool Township
— James Oiler, age and address not provided, was given a verbal warning for loud exhaust and unsafe vehicle and a citation for speed following a Nov. 21 traffic stop on Armstrong Lane. Oiler was clocked at 65 mph in a 35-mph zone.
— Henry Williams, age and address not provided, was issued a court date and citation for speeding following a Nov. 22 traffic stop on Wells Avenue. Williams was clocked at 68 mph in a 55-mph zone on state Route 7.
— Finton Ahearn, age and address not provided, was issued a court date and traffic citation for speed after being clocked at 80 mph in a 55-mph zone on state Route 7 on Nov. 24.
— Jami Watson, age and address not provided, was issued a court date and traffic citation for speed after being clocked at 70 mph in a 55-mph zone on state Route 7 on Nov. 24.
— Genny Dempsey, age and address not provided, was issued a court date and traffic citation for speed after being clocked at 73 mph in a 55-mph zone on state Route 7 on Nov. 24.
— Sierra Bable, age and address not provided, was issued a court date and traffic citation for speed after being clocked at 73 mph in a 55-mph zone on state Route 7 on Nov. 24.

— Charles Knight, age and address not provided, was issued a court date and traffic citation for speed after being clocked at 68 mph in a 55-mph zone on state Route 7 on Nov. 25.
— Amanda Bickley, age and address not provided, was issued a citation and court date after officers responded to a complaint of her two pit bull dogs being loose. The caller found the dogs on her back porch at her Campground Road residence.
— Jayson Jackson, age and address not provided, was arrested and charged with domestic violence charges after officers responded to a call from a juvenile male reporting his parents fighting on Dec, 4. Jackson was transported to the Columbiana County Jail.
St. Clair Township
— Officers responded Nov. 25 to a report of a white pick up driving off from Smith Oil on East Liverpool Road without paying $18.26.
— Officers responded to the Carriage Hill Apartments on Nov. 25 for a report of a female wanting to harm herself. The female was transported to the hospital by North Star.
— Officers observed on Nov. 25 on Annesley Road a suspicious person walking around with a flashlight. Officers discovered it was a driver trying to change a flat tire.
— An officer issued a verbal warning for speed following a Nov. 25 traffic stop on Fisher Road.
— A driver who was doing 45 mph in a 25-mph zone on Parkway Avenue was stopped and issued a verbal warning on Nov. 26.
— Alexis Wright, age and address not provided, was issued a citation for speed following a Nov. 26 traffic stop on Parkway Avenue. Wright was clocked at 55 mph in a 40 mph-zone.
Salem
— Officers responded to the 100 block of East Third Street at 10:09 a.m. Monday for a report of a stolen vehicle. The caller advised that while out with friends the night before a man that was also present was believed to have stolen the vehicle. The caller advised that she let the entire group stay at her residence and when she woke up the vehicle was gone along with the man. Through security footage officers were able to see the vehicle involved leaving the city westbound on West State Street. Officers obtained a statement form from the caller and theft of motor vehicle charges will be filed and a warrant will be issued for the man later. The vehicle was later located outside the city and recovered by the owner.
— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 5:35 p.m. Sunday regarding an incident that occurred while her kids were at their father’s home for visitation where a vehicle got dented and two of the tree kids were sent to the basement while the father spoke with the other kid. No physical violence nor threats of harm were made and the caller advised that she wanted a report on file.
— Officers responded to a business in the 2200 block of East State Street at 2:23 p.m. Sunday for a reported animal complaint. The caller advised that two dogs were left in a vehicle. Officers spoke with the owner, advising them of the complaint.
— Officers responded to the 200 block of Penn Avenue at 11:47 a.m. Sunday for a wellness check. Officers checked on them and found they were just waiting on a ride.
— Officers responded to the 900 block of Adams Avenue at 5:03 a.m. Wednesday for a possible water line break. The break was located in the 800 block and the water department was notified.
— Officers responded to the 1200 block of Cleveland Street at 12:50 a.m. Wednesday for a speak with officer report. Officers spoke with the involved parties who advised there was a verbal dispute between brother and sister. They were advised to stay away from each other for the night until they calmed down.
— Officers responded to the 1200 block of Cleveland Street at 10 p.m. Wednesday for a reported verbal dispute over a necklace between a mother and son. Officers advised both parties to stay away from each other for the night.
— Officers responded to the 300 block of Benton Road at 6:31 p.m. Wednesday for a reported warrant check. Officers spoke with the person in question and Perry Township officers took them into custody.
— Officers responded to the 1600 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 4:45 p.m. Wednesday for a report of criminal damage. The caller advised that her neighbor had driven through her yard leaving marks and that this is not the first time she has done it and that it has been an ongoing issue that she just wants to stop. Officers will contact the neighbor to cease their actions and advised them of the possible issues if they don’t.
— Officers spoke with an anonymous person at the police department at 4:27 p.m. Tuesday regarding landlord tenant issues and the eviction process. Officers gathered information for documentation.
— Officers responded to the 300 block of Benton Road with Perry Township officers at 4:32 p.m. Tuesday to check for a man with warrants. Officers were unable to contact them.
— Officers spoke with a woman at the police department at 3:20 p.m. Tuesday for a report of harassment. The woman advised that a coworker was causing problems for her to point where incidents were almost getting physical. The caller did not want to pursue any charges that time and just wanted a report on file.
— Officers responded to the 400 block of Continental Drive at 11:12 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a man hearing people yelling and motorized tools running. Officers spoke with the man who advised that he could hear the voices get louder when he turned up the A/C unit. The man then told officers he may need to go to the hospital for help and officers requested an ambulance. EMT transported the man to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital Boardman.
— Officers responded to the 700 block of East State Street at 3:36 a.m. Thursday for a report of a large sign that had blown into the roadway. Officers were able to place the sign back onto the owner’s property.
— Officers responded to the 1100 block of East 10th Street at 11:44 p.m. Wednesday for a report of telecommunications harassment. Officers spoke with the caller about the issue and contacted the other party and advised them to cease contact or they could face potential charges.
Perry Township
— Officers responded to the 1800 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 6:33 a.m. Tuesday for a reported person to be removed. The store manager advised that they wanted the person trespassed from the property and officers spoke with the involved parties and a no-trespass order was issued.
— Officers responded to the 1300 block of West State Street at 10:31 p.m. Sunday for a report of animal neglect. The caller advised there were three dogs inside the residence that weren’t being taken care of. Officers observed three dogs penned up inside the residence, feces on the floor in the living room, and strong odors of urine and feces. Officers also observed one of the dogs urinating on the floor. Officers advised the owner that the Columbiana County Dog Warden and children’s services would be contacted.
— Officers spoke to a person by phone at 8:50 p.m. Saturday who believed that threats had been made toward him from his girlfriend’s son. Officers had been advised earlier not to contact the person but now the caller wanted him to “pay” for his actions. The other party still had not made actual threats to the caller and it was found that the incident took place over a month ago while he was out of state. When the caller “did not get the answer he wanted” he advised he would contact his attorney.
— Officers responded to the 2000 block of Countryside Drive at 11:35 a.m. Saturday for a report of an unresponsive man. Once on scene with EMT, officers found the man with no signs of life inside the residence where he resided. Officers found nothing suspicious at the scene and the man was transported by EMT to Greenisen Funeral Home.
— Officers spoke to a man by phone at 11:21 a.m. Saturday to report what he believed to be threats toward him from his girlfriend’s son. Officers advised the man of his options, and the man advised he would not like officers to contact the person at that time.
— Officers responded to the 1000 block of Liberty Street at 11:01 a.m. Saturday for a reported barking dog complaint. Officers spoke with the dog owner who advised that they were going to bring the dog back in the house. Officers stayed in the area to make sure the barking had stopped.
— Officers responded to the 1300 block of West State Street at 11:17 p.m. Friday for a reported domestic between two sisters. The caller advised her juvenile sister lied about her age and brought an adult man to the residence, and when the man was made aware, the sisters began shoving each other. No injuries nor marks were observed, and the sisters were advised of the laws concerning domestic violence.
— Officers responded to the 700 block of Cunningham Road at 10:02 p.m. Friday for a reported domestic dispute. While the husband was taking video of his wife she knocked the phone away from her face. Both parties were concerned about the other placing makeshift barriers throughout the residence and having guests over. Both parties were advised they could go wherever they wanted in the household and could invite whomever they wanted over.
— Karen Reichenbach, 72, Colorado, was cited for failure to yield after her southbound vehicle on state Route 45 was struck by a vehicle driven northbound on Depot Road by C.J. Dawson, 30, Salem, at 6:21 p.m. Friday. Both drivers and their passengers denied medical treatment on scene and both vehicles were towed from the scene.
— Officers responded to the area of North Ellsworth Avenue at 1:56 p.m. Friday to provide traffic control for the Salem Police Department on a traffic stop they were conducting. Officers shut down southbound traffic until the roadway could be reopened.
— Officers on patrol on Painter Road near Egypt Road located a tree limb blocking the westbound lane at 4:44 a.m. Thursday. Officers cleared the debris without further incident.
— Officers on patrol in the 1300 block of East Tenth Street at 4:37 a.m. Thursday located a large tree limb blocking the westbound lane. Officers cleared the debris from the roadway without issue.
— Officers responded to the 400 block of Stewart Road at 8:04 p.m. Wednesday for a reported domestic dispute. Contact could not be made with any of the involved parties at the residence, but officers were advised by the caller via public service that the involved parties had left the residence and separated for the night.
— Officers spoke with a person at the police department for a report of fraud at 1:28 p.m. Wednesday. The person advised that someone had hacked his PayPal and Amazon accounts and that someone had taken over his home phone line which Spectrum found was ported out to a cell phone. Two credit cards were opened in his name along with hacking into two of his current open credit cards.
— Officers responded to the 500 block of West Pine Lake Road at 9 a.m. Wednesday for a reported property issue. The caller had brought family members to the residence to help her pack and move her items out, and their ex-boyfriend did not want her family members inside the residence. They ultimately allowed the movers to enter the residence and officers stood by until no longer needed.
— Officers responded to the 1100 block of Liberty Street with the fire department and EMT at 3:46 p.m. Tuesday for a reported medical call. The person in question was transported to the Salem Regional Medical Center by EMT.
— Officers responded to the 300 block of Benton Road at 1:22 p.m. Tuesday for a reported domestic. The caller advised that she and her boyfriend had gotten into an argument and he had grabbed her by the throat, throwing her to the ground, slapping her and attempting to poke her in the eye before placing her in a headlock and throwing her onto the bed. The caller advised she had been able to get up and leave the residence, and officers contacted the boyfriend, Nathaniel Hodgson, 40, Salem, at the residence, taking him into custody for domestic violence and transporting him to the Columbiana County Jail.
