Sheriff’s Office
— A woman on Rochester Road, West Township reported at 10:07 p.m. Wednesday that she believed her ex-boyfriend was outside her residence the night before, due to finding items moved around on her property.
– A woman on Lakeview Road, Hanover Township reported at 5:57 p.m. Wednesday that she was a victim of fraud, through Spectrum customer service.
— A deputy was dispatched at 4:44 p.m. Wednesday to Main Street, Hanoverton for a person making suicidal threats. Hanover Township EMS transported the person to St. Elizabeth in Boardman.
— A deputy on routine patrol at 4:41 a.m. Wednesday on Lisbon Road located several cows out of their fenced area and on or near the roadway. The deputy attempted contact at the residence, but was unable to get anyone to the door, then located a phone number for the address. The owners arrived and were able to get the cows back into their pasture.
— Deputies were dispatched at 9:28 p.m. Tuesday to Sycamore Street, Knox Township for a person that was suicidal. Deputies spoke with the person, who was fine.
— A spokesman for Hulls Super Duper, state Route 172, Hanover Township, reported at 8:13 p.m. Tuesday that three people came into the store and attempted to buy over $300 worth of items with possibly a stolen credit card. Management told them the credit card was denied and the people started an argument and were told to leave. They got into a vehicle and were last seen southbound on state Route 9. Deputies and Hanoverton Police checked the area, but didn’t find them.
— Deputies responded to a fight call on Hillcrest Road, Yellow Creek Township at 2:27 a.m. Nov. 16. Residents said there had been an argument and all the other people involved had left. They said no one was assaulted. Contact was attempted with the original caller, with voicemails being left, but the person did not return the calls.
Perry Township
— Officers responded to the 1900 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 5:22 p.m. Monday for a reported vehicle theft. The caller came home to find his 212 Nissan had been taken from his residence. Information was taken and the vehicle was entered into LEADS as stolen.
— Officers responded to the 400 block of Idaho Avenue at 6:19 p.m. Sunday for a reported suspicious person. The caller advised that a man in all dark clothing was walking through the wooded area. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate them.
— Officers to the area of Benton Road near the U.S. Route 62 bypass at 5:57 p.m. Sunday for a regarding an automated emergency message from a vehicle accident. Officers searched the surrounding area but did not locate any accident. Officers were then advised that the incident was in the Damascus area.
— Officers responded to the 800 block of Michigan Avenue at 5:23 p.m. Sunday for a reported civil issue and property damage. The caller was gifted a semi 10 years ago and now the other party was demanding it back, then came to the caller’s property and broke the turn signal. The caller was advised the semi is a civil issue and was also given his options if he wanted to press charges for the damage. The caller advised he was unsure if he wanted to press charges at the time, but that he would like the other party to be advised not to return to the property. Officers responded to their residence but were unable to make contact.
— Officers responded to Crybaby Bridge at 11:10 a.m. Sunday for a report of bones sticking out of a trash bag near the bridge. Officers found the bones belonged to a deceased deer.
— Officers on patrol in the 1700 block of Depot Road at 1:52 a.m. Sunday observed a suspicious person sitting alongside the roadway. Officers identified them as a juvenile who was transported back home and released to their mother.
— Officers responded to the 1300 block of Georgetown Road at 5:56 p.m. Saturday for a possible juvenile problem. It was found the incident occurred in a neighboring jurisdiction. Officers stood by while the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office took over the investigation.
— Shawn Bowser, 47, Lisbon, was cited for failure to yield struck a vehicle driven by Gregory Russel, 66, Leetonia at the intersection of Cunningham Road and state Route 344 at 12:12 p.m. Saturday. Russel’s vehicle was removed by Sinsley Towing, and no injuries were reported.
— Officers responded to the 1200 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 7:01 a.m. Saturday for a report of a person who did not feel safe. Officers found the caller had snorted cocaine the night before and did not sleep, and that her husband gets the cocaine, and she feels that she has to do it because it is in the apartment. EMT responded and transported them to the Salem Regional Medical Center.
— Officers responded to the 400 block of North Madison Avenue at 8:31 p.m. Nov. 15 to assist Salem officers with a fight. While en route Salem officers advised that a man was running from them on foot towards Brooklyn Avenue. Perry Township officers were able to get the person into custody and transfer him to the Salem Police Department.
— Officers responded to the area of state Route 9 at 5:08 p.m. Nov. 15 for a report of a reckless operator. Officers observed multiple traffic violations and made contact with the driver Domingo Calel, 38, Salem, finding them to be impaired and driving without a license. Officers arrested Calel and issued citations for OVI and driving without a license. Sinsley Towing was contacted to remove the vehicle.
Columbiana
— A woman suffering from mental issues arrived on station at 9:44 p.m. Nov. 16 and agreed to be transported for evaluation at a Youngstown hospital.
— Robert A. Ross Jr., address unknown, was cited at 1:35 p.m. Nov. 16 in the 200 block of East Park Street for traveling 42 in a 25 mph zone and driving under suspension as well as served with an active warrant for a parole violation.
— A female subject came on station at 1:23 p.m. Nov. 14 to speak about a family member going through a crisis. The officer did a welfare check with the family member in the 200 block of Spruce Street.
— No other information was available about a two-vehicle crash at 7:15 p.m. Nov. 11 in the 500 block of West Park Avenue.
