Wellsville

— Officers responded to a report of theft at King’s Carry Out on Nov. 9. When they arrived, they spoke to an employee who stated a male known to them entered the store and stole two boxes of ELf THC infused joints costing $100 each. Officers viewed the video footage which showed the male taking the items.

— Matthew Hawkens, age and address not provided, was arrested for criminal trespass on Nov. 16 after officers responding to a call on Anderson Avenue for a male beating on a residential door. Hawkens was also arrested for theft after officers found him while they searched the Marina for a man who robbed the Rich Oil Station. Hawkens told officers he only took two items to get their attention. When officers searched Hawkens, they found he had multiple knives, a hammer and a hatchet in his backpack. Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office picked him up for an outstanding warrant.

St. Clair Township

— Officers responded to Dollar General on Nov. 10 after employees called to report a theft. Employees were unable to tell officers which items were taken or provide any dollar amount for the items. A female on camera appeared to put stuff in her pocket but it was not clear. The female was unable to be identified.

— An officer had to fire one round to put down a deer that was hit on state Route 170 on Nov. 11.

— A female came to the police station on Nov. 10 to report a stolen debit card. She told officers that she had people over to her house. Later she noticed her card gone from her wallet and she received alerts of transactions on her card. She needed a police report for the bank to make restitution.

Leetonia

— A woman in the 600 block of Walnut Street reported at 2:13 p.m. Nov. 15 that she received another letter from Columbiana County Jail inmate Jimmy Anderson. This is the second letter since the protection order has been in place. He currently is incarcerated due to his alleged stalking of her family. Menacing by stalking charges are pending through the county prosecutor.

— Police performed a welfare check at 9:43 p.m. Nov. 7 at a home in the 400 block of Columbia Street. The man is a recovering alcoholic who has been suffering with depression due to the current separation from his wife. Officers accompanied the woman to her attic, where the man has been staying. Upon entry into the attic, First Responders contacted the coroner as the male subject was lying on the bed with a gunshot would to the head.

— Officers responded shortly after midnight Nov. 17 to the 600 block of Columbia Street, where a female said that she believed that her husband had attempted suicide. After talking to the caller later, she learned that he hadn’t actually ingested the pills but spit them back out when he heard her calling authorities and drove off in his truck.

— The owner of the gas station in the 300 block of Columbia Street reported that after an employee reported a displaced self beneath an open window, he viewed security camera footage that shows someone breaking the window and stealing rolling papers, Vuse vapor cartridges and Backwoods cigars.

— Police were asked to perform a welfare check on a male subject at 2:28 p.m. Nov. 14 as the caller hadn’t been able to reach him. Around an hour later, after responding to a police voice mail, the subject acknowledged he was fine.

— An officer provided a courtesy transport to a residence in Columbiana for a male subject who was sitting Indian style on the side near the Route 11 bridge near Route 344.

— The owner of Steve’s Towing reported at 6:03 p.m. Nov. 18 that Sky Towing attempted to exit his impound lot with a vehicle belonging to one of his customers. The vehicle owner still has not paid in full, and a trespass order has been put in place against Sky Towing until further notice.

— Relentless Recovery Repo contacted dispatch at 3:03 a.m. Nov. 20 to notify police they would be repossessing a white Ford Escape in the first block of Hazel Street.

Salem

— Officers responded to the 700 block of Jennings Avenue at 5:43 a.m. Sunday for a reported suspicious person. The caller advised that an unknown man was on her porch ten minutes before contacting the police department. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the person in question.

— Officers responded to a business in the 1700 block of East State Street at 12:19 a.m. Sunday for a report of an intoxicated man walking around vehicles and standing in the drive-thru. Officers located the man who was highly intoxicated and could barely stand. The man, Ryan Armstrong, 40, was cited for disorderly conduct and picked up by his mother.

— Officers responded to the 2500 block of Lexington Avenue at 10:08 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a suspicious man. The caller advised an unknown man was knocking on her door claiming to live there. Officers checked the area but weren’t able to locate anyone.

— Officers responded to the 2000 block of Edgewood Drive at 7:53 p.m. Wednesday for a reported domestic in progress. Officers separated all parties involved and spoke with them. The person in question Lucas Christman, 29, Salem, had allegedly grabbed a juvenile household member’s face after a verbal altercation and shoved their face into a wall causing damage to the inside of their lip due to the impact and having braces. The person in question was placed under arrest for domestic violence and brought back to the police department for processing and transported to the Columbiana County Jail.

— Officers responded to the 1300 block of Fairview Avenue at 7:49 p.m. Wednesday for a reported juvenile causing an issue. Officers found that nothing criminal was being done and that the juvenile was misbehaving and causing a mess inside of the house. Officers resolved the matter for the night.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of West State Street at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday to assist an agent with the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force with an arrest.

— Officers responded to the area of South Lundy Avenue and East Perry Street at 3:46 p.m. Wednesday for a reported tree limb in the roadway. The limb was moved to the side of the road and a note was left for the street department.

— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 1:17 p.m. Wednesday regarding a possible protection order. The caller advised that they believed a person might have a protection order against them that may be being violated. Officers checked and found that no protection order had been given yet.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of Park Avenue at 9:18 a.m. Wednesday for a report of criminal damaging. The caller advised an unknown person had broken the rear window of his vehicle while it was parked in the driveway. Officers provided the caller with the options for dealing with the situation.

— Officers responded with the fire department to the 400 block of Jennings Avenue at 8:52 a.m. Wednesday for a reported ambulance needed. Officers stood by until they were no longer needed.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 7:16 a.m. Wednesday for a wellness check. The caller advised a woman was observed acting strangely and yelling. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate anyone.

— Officers responded to the 1200 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 11:28 p.m. Monday for a wellness check. The person in question had been treated at the hospital and had left prior to staff removing his IV. The person advised his daughter had removed it when he got home and that he was fine and thanked officers for checking on him.

— Officers responded to the area of Georgetown Road and West State Street at 9:13 p.m. Monday for a suspicious person report. Officer searched the area surrounding area, but they were not located.
