Sheriff’s Office

— A resident on Hillcrest Road in Yellow Creek Township reported two pitbulls loose in the area at 7:03 p.m. on Thursday. Dispatch notified the Columbiana County Dog Warden.

— A woman on Unity Line Road in Unity Township reported gunfire that lasted for over two hours at 6:44 p.m. on Thursday. She advised the gunfire had stopped but wanted to file a report.

— A woman in Knox Township, who recently moved back to Ohio, reported at 8:12 p.m. on Thursday that her ex-boyfriend would not allow her to retrieve her belongings from a residence on North Street She was advised to contact an attorney.

— A man on state Route 45 in Salem Township reported at 3:50 p.m. on Thursday that a license plate had been stolen from his property. The plate was entered in Ohio leads as stolen.

— Deputies responded at 3:50 a.m. on Wednesday to a report of suspicious activity on East Liverpool Road in Madison Township. The complaint advised she believes that she is being stalked by someone known to her. The matter is under investigation.

— A Leetonia resident reported at 9:06 p.m. on Wednesday that while fixing a vehicle on Depot Road in Center Township he lost an envelope with cash in it.

— Deputies responded to Center Road in Knox Township to a report of loud music at 11:18 p.m. on Wednesday.

— A man in Hanover Township called at 4:01 p.m. on Wednesday to report that his employer gave “untrue facts” during a hearing for unemployment. The man was advised to contact an attorney.

— A man on Cream Ridge Road in Elkrun Township reported that his dog was missing and he believed his neighbor had it at 7:40 p.m. on Wednesday. The man called back a short time later and advised he had found his dog.

— Deputies responded to a report of disturbance on East Liverpool Road in Madison Township at 6:27 p.m. on Tuesday. A warrant was issued for Joshua Gallimore, no age provided, East Liverpool Road, charged with violating a protection order.

New Waterford

— An Salineville resident reported at 9:16 p.m. Wednesday telecommunications harassment from his ex-wife who resides in New Waterford. He was advised to file a report with his local law enforcement agency.

— Anthony R. Kelly, 36, East Palestine, was cited for reckless operation after officers responded to the 46000 block of South State Street at 4:51 p.m. Tuesday in reference to a two-vehicle crash

— Officers responded to the 3600 block of Silliman Street at 11:33 a.m. Tuesday in reference to a vehicle parked at a business for approximately three days. Officers spoke with the property owner and advised him he could do a private property tow.

— Officers responded to the 46000 block of Crestview Road outside the village limits at 8:43 a.m. Tuesday in reference to a loose cow. The cow was observed to be on the homeowner’s property and off the roadway. The owners were contacted and they were able to secure their livestock.

— Officers responded to the 3700 block of Front Street at 7:55 p.m. Monday in reference to a suspicious vehicle being parked in the caller’s driveway. Officers made contact with the occupant of the vehicle and confirmed it was a friend of the caller but in a different vehicle.

East Liverpool

— Barbra Boyle was given a verbal warning for no turn signal shortly after midnight Sunday in the first block of state Route 39.

— An adult female and five juveniles were observed near the Broadway Wharf around 4:58 a.m. Sunday. The adult explained to police that she had been waiting for a cab for more than an hour, so a courtesy transport was provided.

— Multiple cars were observed at 12:11 p.m. Sunday with no registration on Wedgewood Street. All vehicles were being worked on by White’s Alignment.

— Steven M. Shaffer Jr., no address listed, was arrested at 2:20 a.m. Sunday outside the Finish Line on charges of OVI and possession of a controlled substance, after a routine traffic stop. Shaffer tested with a .211 breath sample. Two pill bottles were found in his vehicle’s center console containing various prescription strengths for clonazepam, Suboxone and gabapentin pills.

— A “Mr. Glass” was given a verbal warning at 3:57 a.m. Oct. 12 in the first block of St. Clair Avenue. regarding an expired temporary tag, as the dealership had failed to send him his memorandum title due to a mixup with his address and apartment number. After he showed the officer proof that he had contacted the dealership regarding the issue. He was not cited and told to get the plates as soon as possible.

— A stolen license plate report was taken at 1:38 a.m. Oct. 12 in the 700 block of Oak Street. The complainant was advised to cancel the current registration and get a new one as the officer had entered the plate into LEADS.

— Police responded at 3:32 p.m. Oct. 12 to an unresponsive male behind the wheel of a vehicle in the southbound state Route 11 lane. After closing the highway, officers started CPR and an ambulance transported the male to the nearest hospital for further treatment.

— Officers were dispatched at 3:19 p.m. Oct. 12 to a disturbance in the 600 block of East Fourth Street between neighbors.

— Police responded at 9:54 p.m. Oct. 12 for an alarm drop at North Elementary School. A key holder showed up to resecure the facility, and officers cleared.

— A caller reported at 9:11 p.m. Oct. 12 that two males were trying to steal a top sign on College Street/alley immediately behind the church and then fled towards the Riverview Apartments parking lot, after she yelled at them. The stop sign was still intact upon arrival and extra patrols were done of the area.

Salem

— The school resource officer was advised by a student that she had been receiving harassing phone calls all night long by three phone numbers at 2:55 p.m. Friday and requested the incident be documented in case it continues.

— Officers responded to the Waterworth Memorial Park band shall at 9:39 a.m. Friday for a report of a suspicious person. Officers located the person in question who advised that they had stopped there to charge their cell phones. Officers advised them of the complaint.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of East Ninth Street at 8:12 a.m. Friday for a reported dispute. Officers spoke with the caller who advised that he had been involved in a verbal dispute with his girlfriend over a cell phone and that the woman left prior to officers’ arrival. Officers advised the man of the complaint.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of North Broadway Avenue at 11:16 p.m. Thursday for a report of harassment. The caller advised that she wanted an unknown man to stop communication with her, and officers spoke with the man on the phone advising him to stop communication.

— Shad Snyder, 49, Salem, was cited for driving under suspension after a routine registration on his vehicle showed him to be suspended at 10:26 p.m. Thursday.

— Officers responded to the 2400 block of Lexington Avenue at 8:19 p.m. Thursday for a report of a party where underage drinking was going on. Officers did not observe any alcohol use.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of Aetna Street at 6:19 p.m. Thursday for a report of a man walking on several properties. Officers spoke with the man advising him to stay off the properties.
