Sheriff’s Office
— Management at Deer Run Mobile Home Park reported at 6:08 p.m. Thursday that a person was on their property in the 29000 block of Salem Alliance Road, Butler Township, soliciting residents to change electric companies, and had been told to leave the property, left and returned, and told to leave again. They requested a report on file.
— Deputies spoke to a man at the sheriff’s office at 10:18 p.m. Wednesday who reported his firearm had been stolen out of his parked vehicle at his residence in Center Township.
— Deputies were dispatched to a residence in the first block of West Washington Street, Salineville, at 8:56 p.m. Wednesday for a report that the caller’s son was overdosing at her residence. While deputies were en route the dispatch advised the caller had called back and stated everything was fine. When deputies arrived the caller again advised that her son was fine, and that he had since left the residence.
— Deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 200 block of Neeld Road, Unity Township, for a reported domestic dispute at 8:23 p.m. Wednesday.
— Deputies responded to a residence in the 5200 block of Fairfield School Road, Fairfield Township, at 6:50 p.m. Wednesday for a report of harassment. The caller advised that a man known to her was caller her and harassing her through text message. The caller sent the man a text message to stop and blocked his number.
— A Middleton Township man reported at 4:06 p.m. Wednesday that the catalytic convertor had been stolen from his vehicle while parked at a residence on state Route 170, Middleton Township.
Columbiana
— A camera was recovered at McDonald’s and turned over to police at 4:32 a.m. Oct. 5.
— Two persons were arrested at 11:32 p.m. Oct. 4 for drug charges, resulting from a traffic stop in the 100 block of East State Route 14. Lindsay Brown, of New Philadelphia, was charged with tampering with evidence, drug paraphernalia, possession of drug abuse instruments and obstructing official business, while Raymond Wetzel, of Canton, also was charged for possession of drug instruments. Additional charges may be pending based on BCI testing.
— Larry McCullers, of Columbiana, was cited at 6:32 p.m. Oct. 4 in the 200 block of East State Route 14 for no operator’s license and expired registration.
— Ashley Wagner, no address listed, was cited at 5:50 a.m. Oct. 4 in the 1300 block of Creek Road with failure to control, leaving th scene of an accident and falsification following a crash.
— Kathleen Witner, of Columbiana, was arrested at 9:01 p.m. Oct. 3 for OVI, after a traffic stop in the 100 block of Pearl Street.
— Police took an on-station report regarding domestic violence at 11 p.m. Oct. 2.
— Shannon Baker, of Columbiana, was cited at 5:45 p.m. Oct. 1 for driving under a 12-point suspension in the 200 block of East State Route 14.
— Police responded at 1:24 p.m. Oct. to the 100 block of 7th Street for a possible elderly DOA. Upon arrival with EMS, the deceased’s next of kin was notified as well as family before EMS transported him to a Boardman funeral home.
— Officers responded at 7:26 p.m. Sept. 30 to McDonald’s for a private property crash.
— Police also responded at 5:25 p.m. Sept. 30 to a private property crash in the 100 block of South Main Street.
— Officers performed a welfare check on a suspicious female at 8:22 p.m. Sept. 30 inside the Burger King, where she had been hiding and left a suitcase in the play area. After police made contact, they learned she was homeless and was trying to get to Pittsburgh. County Crisis Intervention Team members were notified, so police transported the female back to the station where CIT members arrived to take her to Pittsburgh.
— Timothy A. Totter, of Tallahassee, Fla., was arrested at 4:02 p.m. Sept. 29 on an active warrant for failure to appear on a dangerous drug charge in the first block of West Park Avenue. He signed a waiver and was transported to Columbiana County Jail, where he awaited pickup from Franklin County.
— A private property crash report was taken at 1:47 p.m. Sept. 29 in the 1100 block of Village Plaza.
— Protection order violations were reported at 10:40 a.m. Sept. 29 in the 200 block of Homestead Drive.
Salem
— Officers responded to the 200 block of West State Street at 3:04 p.m. Friday for a reported person to be removed. Officers spoke to all parties involved and were advised a customer attempted to return an item but was unable due to a lack of a receipt and became upset, refusing to leave the parking lot of the store. Officers trespassed two people from the store and advised them that if they returned, they could be arrested.
— Officers spoke to an employee from the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force at 1:38 p.m. Friday. Officers gathered needed information, and the matter is under investigation.
— Officers spoke with representatives of the Counseling Center regarding a client suffering from severe mental issues at 1:10 p.m. Thursday. A CPST Assessor had responded to the individual’s residence for a scheduled meeting earlier that day and the individual made several threats of harm towards the assessor. As a result, paperwork ordering them to be transported to a medical facility for further evaluation was completed. It was deemed necessary for officers to accompany the person in the ambulance during transport, and during a pre-transport pat down officers recovered a glass smoking pipe from their pocket. Charges for possession of drug paraphernalia are pending, and the individual was transported by EMT.
— Officers responded to a business in the 100 block of West State Street at 7:52 a.m. Friday to speak with an employee regarding a known man taking a drink without proper payment. They advised they wanted him trespassed from the property, and a criminal trespass form was filled out. Officers located the man, advising him of the complaint and that he was trespassed from the business.
— Officers responded to the 500 block of South Broadway Avenue at 2:14 a.m. Friday for a reported dispute. Officers attempted to speak with the parties involved, but they had left the area prior to officers’ arrival.
— Officers responded to the 600 block of Olive Street at 10:48 p.m. Thursday for a report of loud music. The caller advised that someone was playing drums. When officers arrived all was quiet in the neighborhood.
— Officers responded to the 300 block of North Lundy Avenue at 10:31 p.m. Thursday for two people with outstanding arrest warrants. The caller advised that the man was outside in the garage of a residence in the area. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate them.
— Officers spoke to a man in the 900 block of East School Street at 6:13 p.m. Thursday regarding an issue that occurred earlier in the day at Hope Cemetery. Officers collected information about the matter and advised the person to contact officers if anything else occurs.
— Officers responded to the 400 block of South Lundy Avenue at 3:07 p.m. Thursday for a report of a possible assault. After speaking with the caller, officers advised him that the matter was civil in nature.
— Officers responded to the 500 block of Walnut Street at 2:51 p.m. Thursday for a reported dispute. The caller advised he was moving out and was concerned he might be assault. Officers stood by while he departed the residence.
— Officers responded to the 1700 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 12:45 p.m. Thursday for a reported person to be removed. Human resources advised an employee of the business was refusing to leave the property. Officers spoke with the employee, and she eventually was escorted to her vehicle and departed without incident.
— Officers responded to the 700 block of East Fifth Street at 12:08 p.m. Thursday for a report of graffiti. The caller advised that someone had graffitied the sidewalk and street. No further damage was observed in the area.
— Officers spoke to a woman at the police department at 11:18 a.m. Thursday for a report of identity theft. The caller advised that she had noticed purchases had been made by an unknown person to her bank account. The caller advised that she had already contacted her bank and multiple other agencies. Officers provided them with options to handle the situation.
