--Patrick Shoemaker, 37, Damascus, was cited for speeding after his northbound vehicle on South Pricetown Road was observed traveling in excess of the speed limit at 10:31 p.m. Sept. 16.
--Officers responded to the 14000 block of South Pricetown Road at 10:19 p.m. Sept. 16 to assist the Damascus Fire Department with a medical call. When officers arrived, they found it was a false alarm.
--Xavier Winner, 18, Youngstown, was cited for speeding after his southbound vehicle was observed travelling in excess of the speed limit at 2:53 p.m. Sept. 16.
--Rebecca Nentwick, 66, Canfield, was cited for speeding after her southbound vehicle on Green Beaver Road was observed traveling in excess of the speed limit at 2:37 p.m. Sept. 16.
--Officers responded to the area of Youngstown Salem Road and West Western Reserve Road at 3:20 p.m. Sept. 16 for a report of a possible reckless driver. The caller provided a description of the vehicle, and officers checked the area but did not locate them.
--Officers responded to the 12000 block of Beaver Creek Road at 1:45 p.m. Sept. 16 to assist the Green Township Fire Department with a reported gas leak. Surrounding homes were evacuated until the ruptured line could be capped off.
-- Britnee Cain, 28, Salem, was cited for speeding after his northwest bound vehicle on Egypt Road was observed traveling in excess of the speed limit at 7:51 p.m. Tuesday.
-- Jordan Clark, 25, Sebring, was cited for a seatbelt violation and given a verbal warning for speed after his northbound vehicle on Youngstown Salem Road was observed traveling in excess of the speed limit at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday.
-- Officers responded to the 9800 block of South Salem Warren Road at 3:40 p.m. Monday for a report of a possible body hanging. Officers located a blow-up doll wrapped in a garbage bag and duct tape hanging from a staircase. The homeowners advised they did not know who put the item there but that it would be taken down shortly.
-- Officers responded to the 11000 block of Beaver Creek Road at 9:33 a.m. Monday for a reported medical call. Officers assisted the Green Township Fire Department until no longer needed.
-- Officers responded to the 8800 block of West Pine Lake Road at 10:27 p.m. Sunday for a report of gunfire where the caller was unable to sleep due to the noise. Officers spoke with a resident who advised he and a friend were shooting rifles in the backyard where he has a makeshift range set up. Officers asked to inspect the backstop, observing a large steel wall leaned against a row of trees. Officers advised the resident that while the township does not have a noise ordinance, it is common courtesy not to shoot after dark, and to stop shotting at a steel backdrop to prevent risks of injury from ricochets to himself, others, or property.
-- Officers responded to the 11000 block of Beaver Creek Road at 7:37 p.m. to assist the Portage County Sheriff's Office. Officers attempted to speak with the owner of a vehicle that was involved in a hit and skip in Portage County but were unable to do so.
-- Cris Cosme-Negron, 19, Boardman, was cited for driving without a license after a random license plate check on his vehicle in the area of West Western Reserve Road and Lisbon Road showed him to have no valid license at 6:45 a.m. Sunday.
-- Burce Merryman, 34, Salem, was cited for expired registration and given a warning for loud exhaust after his northbound vehicle on Youngstown Salem Road was observed with loud exhaust at12:16 a.m. Sunday.
Perry Township
-- Officers responded to the area of Georgetown Road and Prospect Street at 10:12 p.m. Thursday for reports of a possible domestic. Officers located a woman who advised her boyfriend was drunk, they were in an argument, and he was attempting to walk home. Officers checked the area and found the man, who was intoxicated, and advised his brother was coming to give him a ride home. Officers spoke with the man until his ride arrived and he was safely removed from the roadway.
-- Officers responded to the 500 block of West Pidgeon Road at 7:24 p.m. Thursday for a reported verbal domestic. Officers found both parties were separated for the night and calmed down, and officers advised the caller of the process for eviction and ensured both parties would stay separated for the night.
-- Officers spoke with a person by phone at 8:06 a.m. Thursday regarding a dog bite. The caller advised that while jogging in the 1800 block of Cider Road a dog broke its chain and bit him on the ankle, breaking skin. The caller advised they'd made contact with someone at the residence and advised them of the incident, and officers attempted contact at the residence unsuccessfully.
-- Officers responded to the area of North Ellsworth Avenue and East Sixth Street at 1:49 a.m. Thursday to assist Salem officers with a shooting complaint. Officers assisted until no longer needed.
-- Officers responded to the 600 block of West Pidgeon Road at 12:09 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a suspicious vehicle parked at the end of the caller's driveway. Officers found no vehicles in the driveway when they arrived, locating the vehicle in question in the 1300 block of West State Street. The driver stated that the vehicle was having mechanical issues, and he pulled over for a minute in the driveway.
-- Officers responded to the 1200 block of Stewart Road at 7:39 a.m. Wednesday for a reported breaking and entering. The caller advised that she was woken by the dog barking and observed someone opening the dining room window, and after yelling at them, the man jumped the backyard fence getting in his vehicle. The caller advised she recognized the man as a friend of her daughter while he was backing out of the driveway. Officers found a lone key lying in the yard while walking around the outside of the residence with the caller which was identified as a spare key which was hidden outside the residence. Statements were left for the caller and all paperwork will be forwarded to the Juvenile Prosecutor's Office for review.
-- Officers responded to the 1200 block of Elberon Avenue at 3:12 a.m. Wednesday to assist Stark County with confirming the whereabouts of an individual. Officers were able to contact them and confirmed with Stark County.
-- Officers responded to the 400 block of Plymouth Place at 7:43 p.m. Thursday for a report of an elderly woman in mental distress. Officers were able to calm the woman and ensured she was safe with family.
-- Officers took a report of a black SUV driving through a stop sign and red flashing lights of a school bus at 8:47 a.m. Tuesday. The matter is under investigation.
-- Officers responded to the 900 block of Andrew Avenue at 4:21 p.m. Monday to attempt to contact someone on behalf of the Sebring Police Department.
-- Officers responded to the 200 block of West 16th Street at 6:55 p.m. Sunday to assist Salem officers with a juvenile that had barricaded themselves in a room where it was unknown if the juvenile wanted to self-harm. Entry was made and the juvenile was found to be okay, and officers stood by until no longer needed.
-- Salem officers advised a woman was at their department for an incident that occurred in the township.
Salem
--Officers on patrol in the 100 block of North Lundy Avenue at 12:44 a.m. Wednesday observed a vehicle pull behind a building and turn the vehicle lights off. Officers spoke with the driver who advised they were there to clean the building.
--Officers responded to the 1500 block of Cleveland Street at 11:01 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a suspicious noise. The caller advised that a loud crash was heard outside near the street. It was discovered that a tree limb had fallen, and the limb was removed from the roadway.
--Officers responded to the 700 block of West Pershing Street at10:06 p.m. Wednesday for a wellness check on a person reported to have been posting on social media about harming himself. Officers spoke with the person in question who advised that everything was fine, and all he posted was "goodbye," and denied medical attention.
--Officers responded to the 1200 block of Southeast Boulevard at 7:18 p.m. Wednesday for a report of solicitors in a vehicle with no license plate. When officers arrived, the vehicle was leaving the apartment complex, and officers conducted a traffic stop. Further investigation found the driver Gary Marley, 34, Canton, was suspended and the vehicle's registration was expired. Marley was cited for driving under suspension, and expired registration.
--Officers responded to the 1500 block of Southeast Boulevard at 5:10 p.m. Wednesday for a wellness check. Officers found a woman laying on the ground who advised that she had passed out and officers requested the fire department and EMT respond to the scene. The person was later transported to the Salem Regional Medical Center for further treatment.
--Officers responded to the 1600 block of Fairview Avenue at 5:01 p.m. Tuesday for a reported dispute. Officers were advised the dispute was verbal only and the other half had left prior to officers' arrival.
--Officers responded to the 500 block of East State Street at 4:06 p.m. Tuesday for a reported dispute. Officers were advised that the person had left the scene prior to officers' arrival.
--Officers responded to the 500 block of East School Street at 4:34 p.m. Tuesday for a reported parking complaint. The caller advised that a vehicle was parked in the alleyway blocking traffic. Officers located the vehicle and its owner advising them of the complaint and they moved the vehicle without incident.
--Officers responded to the 900 block of East State Street at 2:31 p.m. Tuesday for a report of criminal trespassing. Officers were advised that the woman had left the scene prior to officers' arrival.
--Officers responded to the 200 block of South Broadway Avenue at 2:22 p.m. Tuesday to speak with a caller about finding a box of ammunition behind their garage in the alley behind their residence. The caller turned the ammunition over to the officers.
--Officers responded to the first block of Elm Avenue at 12:42 p.m. Tuesday for a report of criminal trespassing. Officers were advised of individuals possibly living inside a storage unit. Officers found a person inside the storage unit who advised they fell asleep and was then locked inside the storage unit. Officers advised them that they are not to be living inside the unit.
--Officers responded to the 900 block of South Union Avenue at 11:46 a.m. Tuesday for a complaint of someone harboring roosters. Officers located a small fenced in area with multiple roosters. Officers spoke with a resident of the home advising them of the complaint, and the city ordinance regarding livestock. She was given 24 hours to relocate the animals from the property.
--Chief Panezott responded to the 1300 block of Maple Street at 11:39 a.m. Tuesday and advised a resident of the city ordinance regarding keeping chickens in the city. The owner will comply with the ordinance requirements.
--Officers on patrol in the 300 block of West Tenth Street at 10:47 a.m. Tuesday observed a large limb across the roadway. An area resident assisted in clearing the limb from the roadway and the debris was moved to the curb lawn.
--Officers responded to the 700 block of West State Street at 10:46 a.m. Tuesday to speak with a caller about a homeless man living on their property. Officers were able to speak with the man who stated he got kicked out of his residence and just stayed there a couple of days. Officers advised them man he needed to gather his belongings and leave the property and not come back.
--Officers spoke to a woman by phone at 10:14 a.m. Tuesday who advised she has been having issues with her juvenile daughter not listening, sneaking out late at night and skipping school. Officers advised the caller to file a report and take it to the juvenile court to review possible unruly charges.
--Officers responded to the 800 block of East School Street at 9:18 a.m. Tuesday for a complaint that a group of juveniles destroyed several pumpkins while at Waterworth Memorial Park during the evening. The juveniles were seen damaging the pumpkins on video, and the matter is under investigation.
--Officers responded to the 300 block of East Euclid Street at 8:06 a.m. Tuesday for a reported break in. Officers were advised that one of the gates to the business was smashed in and several oxygen and welding tanks were taken. Officers photographed the damaged and an extra patrol was set in the area.
-- Officers responded to the 1500 block of Southeast boulevard at 4:19 a.m. Thursday for a reported medical emergency. Officers resolved the matter.
-- Officers on patrol in the area of South Lincoln Avenue and Franklin Avenue at 11:42 p.m. Wednesday observed a vehicle with a broken driver's side headlight. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and were given consent to search, locating a plastic bag with a white crystal substance in the passenger's purse. A female officer was requested from the Columbiana Police Department to properly search the passenger, Rebecca Knight, 33, Canton, who was taken into custody and transported to the police department for booking. While at the department, Knight said that she had a glass pipe and another container with a crystal substance in her underwear. Both containers will be sent for testing and Knight was charged with drug paraphernalia and transported to the Columbiana County Jail.
-- Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 10:57 p.m. Wednesday for a report of theft that occurred in the 500 block of Aetna Street. The person advised that his bike was left outside his residence, and someone had taken it.
-- Officers responded to the 1400 block of Cleveland Street at 9:10 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a suspicious sound. The caller advised that she had heard growling coming from her basement, and officers checked the residence but did not locate anything.
-- Officers responded to the 600 block of East Sixth Street at 8:51 p.m. Wednesday to assist EMT due to the patient having a history of being combative.
-- Officers responded to the 1000 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 5:51 p.m. Wednesday for a civil issue. Officers advised all parties to discuss custody with their lawyers.
-- Samantha Millison, 26, Canfield, was cited for assured clear distance ahead after her northbound vehicle on North Lincoln Avenue struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Judy McCorkle, 58, North Jackson, at 4:25 p.m. Wednesday. No injuries were reported.
-- Officers responded with the fire department to the 1100 block of Pennsylvania Avenue at 4:07 p.m. Wednesday for a report of lines down. Officers stood by for traffic control until no longer needed.
-- Officers responded to the 400 block of East School Street at 3:08 p.m. Wednesday for a reported juvenile issue. The caller advised that the juvenile that lives next door was causing issues by yelling and swearing at them while they were outside. Officers spoke to the juvenile and her mother who advised that it was a misunderstanding that got out of hand. Officers advised all parties to stay away from each other.
-- Officers responded to the 100 block of Sharp Avenue at 2:10 p.m. Wednesday for a speak with officer report. The caller advised she had been having issues with the father of her adult daughter's children. Officers explained that due to the fact her daughter is the person renting the property she would have to have the man evicted. The caller also advised the man had threatened her in the past, and officers advised them of their options for dealing with the situation.
-- Officers responded to the 300 block of West Fifth Street at 1:31 p.m. Wednesday for a reported tree limb in the roadway. The limb was removed, and the street department was made aware.
-- Officers responded to the 900 block of Franklin Avenue at 1:25 p.m. Wednesday for a reported noise complaint. Officers located the source of the noise and found it not to be in violation.
-- Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 11:55 a.m. Wednesday that advised that someone had cashed a check for $300 from her account. Officers provided them with their options for dealing with the situation.
-- Officers responded to the 200 block of Vine Avenue at 11:21 a.m. Wednesday for a reported civil matter. The caller advised that she had gotten into an argument with her roommate who then told her to leave the residence by the end of next month. Officers spoke with both parties and advised them of the eviction process.
