-- Officers responded to the 600 block of West Martin Street at 2:34 a.m. Thursday in reference to a suspicious man and woman walking around the outside of a house and talking to the resident. Officers checked the exterior of the residence but found no one.
-- Matthew J. Jerome, 38, East Palestine, was charged with domestic violence and strangulation after officers responded to the 100 block of West Taggart Street to speak with the victim.
-- Officers responded to a Lincoln Avenue home at 7:37 p.m. Wednesday in reference to a barking dog complaint. The dog's owner agreed to take the dog inside.
-- Officers responded to a South Market Street business at 7:02 p.m. Wednesday in reference to a man making inappropriate comments to other patrons and making everyone uncomfortable. The man was removed from the business and warned not to return.
-- An officer at 12:02 p.m. Wednesday assisted a motorist who had run out of gas at North Market and Main streets, causing traffic congestion. The officer assisted in getting the car into a parking space and out of traffic.
Salem
-- Officers responded to the alley behind the Foundry at 2:15 a.m. Friday for a report of two intoxicated men. The caller advised that one of the men had vomited multiple times and both men were having difficulties walking, and one of the men was under legal drinking age. Officers spoke with both males who advised they had been drinking with the underage man being intoxicated prior to meeting up with the other and had been playing pool. The underage male, Logan Patton, 19, was taken into custody, and after speaking with the caller it was determined to place the other man Brian Gasior Jr., 23, into custody for public intoxication. Due to continued vomiting Patton was medically checked by the fire department and EMT and the men were transported to the police department for booking before transport to the Columbiana County Jail.
-- Officers responded to the area of East Pershing Street and Southeast Boulevard at 9:19 p.m. Thursday for a reported reckless operator. Officers searched the area but were unable to make contact, but shortly after the vehicle was located in the hospital parking lot and contact was made with the driver of the vehicle, confirming that they were not intoxicated nor having a medical issue.
-- Officers responded to the 800 block of Franklin Avenue at 7:10 p.m. Thursday for a juvenile complaint. The caller advised her husband caught their daughter with an open container of alcohol in Centennial Park. The juvenile was not home at the time of the report and the caller wanted a report on file. Officers advised that they would check the area for the juvenile and she would be arrested if officers located her and could prove she had consumed alcohol. They were further advised that should the juvenile return home and cause any issues to contact them
-- Officers responded to the 900 block of Prospect Street at 6:32 p.m. Thursday for a reported domestic dispute. A man became irate when gathering his belongings to move out and had already departed while officers were en route. No violence nor threats were reported.
-- Officers responded to the 600 block of Franklin Avenue at 6:57 p.m. Thursday for a report of three loose dogs. Officers spoke with the owner who advised all his dogs were accounted for and inside.
-- Teneisha Coleman, 23, Salem, was cited for assured clear distance ahead after her vehicle on Cunningham Road struck a vehicle driven by Michael Vernaccini, 48, Salem, while stopped in traffic at 5:28 p.m. Thursday. No injuries were reported.
-- Officers responded to the 700 block of East Fourth Street at 3:49 p.m. Thursday for a parking complaint. Officers were able to locate the vehicle owner and the vehicle was moved.
-- Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 3:10 p.m. Thursday regarding a neighbor dispute. Officers advised him of the options for dealing with the situation.
-- Officers spoke to a man at the police department at 11:55 a.m. Thursday. The caller advised that he believed someone got into his vehicle, assaulted him and took his chewing tobacco. He advised that when he woke up his knee was hurting and his ZINZ was missing from his backpack. No injuries were reported and nothing else was missing from the vehicle at the time of the report.
-- Officers responded to the 2500 block of Lexington Avenue at 11:24 a.m. Thursday for a reported juvenile complaint. Dispatch received a 911 call from a young juvenile who said he was walking around outside in the parking lot of the apartment complex. Contact was made with the juvenile's mother who was advised of the complaint.
-- Officers spoke to a woman and her juvenile sister at the police department at 10:50 a.m. Thursday for a speak with officer report. The caller advised her juvenile sister had some questions about the emancipation process due to her father kicking her out of the residence. Officers gave the woman and the sister information on the process and the caller advised they were going to their father's residence to gather some of the juvenile's property so she could stay with the woman. Officers advised them to contact the department if there were any issues and to contact children's services in regard to the issue.
-- Officers responded to the 600 block of Arch Street at 8:15 a.m. Thursday for a domestic dispute. The caller advised that the incident had occurred in the 700 block of West Wilson Street and that her adult son had threatened to take her outside and beat her to death and kill her dog and had taken her cell phone by force and refused to give it back. Officers responded to West Wilson and spoke with the son, Joshua Burke, 39, and took him into custody for domestic violence and transported him directly to the Columbiana County Jail.
-- Officers responded to the 900 block of Liberty Street at 5:18 a.m. Thursday for a reported domestic in progress. Officers located the woman walking away from the residence and spoke with the woman who advised that she had been involved in a verbal dispute with her live-in boyfriend, but there had been no physical violence, just a verbal dispute. Officers responded to the residence and spoke with the boyfriend who confirmed the incident was verbal only.
