-- Deputies were dispatched at 10:39 p.m. Wednesday to Freeman Road, Center Township, for a medical call involving a juvenile that was choking. Upon deputies arriving, the juvenile was not choking. Hanover Township EMS arrived and the juvenile was transported to Akron Children's Hospital, Boardman, by EMT Ambulance.
-- A deputy responded to the Highlandtown Wildlife Area, state Route 39, Washington Township, for a report at 1:42 p.m. Wednesday of gunshots coming from the hunting area. The deputy checked the area and parking lots, but found no one. Dispatch advised the Ohio Department of Natural Resources of the incident and they said it is a hunting area and that groundhog and coyote are in season at this time.

-- An officer was dispatched at 11:39 p.m. Wednesday to the first block of Main Street with Columbiana to check a residence on behalf of Salem police.
-- A Columbiana woman reported at 8:59 a.m. Thursday that she double-checked her storage unit in the 1500 block of Beeson Mill Road, after seeing a report in the newspaper that another one was burglarized and found her unit's lock was missing and the contents ransacked.
-- A village woman called police at 11:08 p.m. Wednesday about an alleged known trespasser at a residence in the 600 block of Walnut Street. An officer talked to the woman's daughter, who lives at the location, and she verified that the man is an ex-boyfriend and she has a protection order against him. The subject, Jimmy Anderson, had left the location before the officer's arrival but after pulling the video doorbell footage, police are charging Anderson with criminal trespass.
-- While investigating an animal cruelty case at 2:39 p.m. Thursday in the 300 block of Somer Street, police made contact with a female and noticed a strong odor of marijuana emitting from her home, which she said was due to her brother's consumption and he had a card for medical use. The woman had been babysitting six or seven young children of relatives, exposing them to this smell that so potent it had been absorbed in the officer's uniform just standing on the porch speaking with her.

-- Officers responded to the 2500 block of East State Street at 12:16 p.m. Friday for a report of a reckless operator. The caller advised that there was a person weaving in and out of traffic on a scooter. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the source of the complaint.
-- Officers responded with the fire department to the 800 block of Jennings Avenue at 10:26 a.m. Friday for a structure fire. Officers provided traffic control until no longer needed.
-- Officers responded to the 1200 block of Cedar Ridge Driver at 9:02 a.m. Friday for a reported domestic in progress. The caller advised that the other party had been irate and there had been a physical altercation between them. Officers located the person in question, Trevor Reno, 19, East Liverpool, who admitted to the physical altercation, and they were taken into custody and transported to the Columbiana County Jail.
-- Officers responded to the 200 block of Brooklyn Avenue at 8:21 p.m. Tuesday for a wellness check. The caller requested officers check on his wife whom he has been separated from for quite some time. Officers were familiar with the situation and aware the woman wanted no contact from the caller. Officers spoke with the woman and confirmed everything was fine.
-- Officers responded to the 200 block of Rose Avenue at 6:59 p.m. Tuesday for a speak with officer report regarding a dog. She advised that she was dog sitting for someone from Alliance and did not know the owner personally, but the dog had scabs and was thin as if not properly taken care of. The caller was given advice and options on how to proceed to report the issue with Stark County.
-- Officers responded to the area of Southeast Boulevard and Park Avenue at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a mini motor bike on the roadway with no plates. Officers located the bike and found the operator to be a juvenile who has been warned by officers on another occasion to keep it off the roadway. Officers spoke with the parents of the juvenile and advised them this incident would be the final warning before issuing a citation.
-- Officers responded to the 400 block of Vine Avenue at 6:28 p.m. Tuesday for a wellness check. The caller advised that she was walking by the residence and heard a woman screaming from inside. Officers spoke with the residents who advised everything was okay and they just had an argument.
-- Officers responded to the 300 block of West State Street at 5:52 p.m. Tuesday for an issue with a customer and her dog reportedly not being returned. Officers spoke with the involved parties who explained to the owner that the dog did not recover from its injuries and had to be euthanized
-- Officers spoke to a woman at the police department at 4:29 p.m. Tuesday for a report of harassment. The caller advised their daughter has been making Facebook posts about them and has had her friend contact the caller. Officers advised them of their options.
-- Officers responded to the 100 block of West State Street at 3:12 p.m. Tuesday to assist the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force in taking a man into custody for soliciting prostitution. The person, whose name was not listed, was taken into custody without incident and transported to the police department. They had no prior criminal history; therefore, the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force issued a citation, and they were subsequently released, with $160 was confiscated as evidence.
-- Officers responded to the 400 block of Ohio Avenue at 3:01 p.m. Tuesday for a speak with officer complaint. Officers were advised by the caller that a man in a maroon SUV had been stopping in front of her house and yelling profanity at her and has been doing so for about two weeks. Officers advised the caller an extra watch would be put out and a police report would be made.
-- Officers responded to the 800 block of East Sixth Street at 2:27 p.m. Tuesday for a public assist. Officers stood by while a woman was moving her belongings out of an apartment. The woman collected her belongings and left and both parties were civil during the process.
-- Officers responded to the 800 block of North Union Avenue at 12:43 p.m. Tuesday for a 911 hang-up call. Officers determined the call was an accidental pocket dial from a construction worker that was operating a skid loader nearby.
-- Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday for a report of vandalism at Sebo Stadium. Officers obtained photographs and notified the school personnel who advised it will be taken care of.
-- Officers responded to the 1600 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 11:47 a.m. Tuesday for a report of graffiti. The caller believed a known woman had spray painted the front and side of a rental home they own. It appeared that someone tried to wash it off making the damage worse and pictures were taken to document the damage. All information was gathered, and the incident is under investigation.
-- Officers responded to the 800 block of East Sixth Street at 11:34 a.m. Tuesday for a reported assault that occurred on Sunday. The caller was helping her niece move from her apartment when the niece's roommate started yelling at her and calling her names. The caller walked over to the roommate and started to yell back at him when he allegedly attempted to throw a punch at her and spat on her. Officers spoke with the roommate who denied the allegations.
-- Officers responded to the 1400 block of Quaker Court at 10:13 a.m. Tuesday for a complaint of accidental damage. Officers and a detective responded and were advised by the caller that they observed what appeared to be bullet holes on the side of the building and found a bullet inside. Photographs were obtained and evidence was collected, and a police report was made.
-- Officers responded to the 1900 block of Shady Lane at 8:20 a.m. Tuesday for a report of criminal trespass. The caller advised of a man walking his dog, who has previously been advised that the property was a private drive and private property and was not allowed to be on the property. Officers located the man and advised him of the complaint, and he argued that the road is not private property, and he can walk on it. Officers advised the man and the caller that the city law director would be notified of the complaint for a legal opinion.
-- Officers responded to the 200 block of West Fifth Street at 9:40 p.m. Wednesday for a barking dog complaint. When officers arrived, the owner was already in the process of bringing the dog inside.
