Sheriff's Office

-- Deputies were requested at 5:29 p.m. Friday to assist Salineville Police with a rolling domestic which originated in Salem and continued to a residence in Salineville. Kaylee Howcroft, 22, Lincoln Street, Salineville, was charged with domestic violence for allegedly punching and hitting another woman as they were leaving Salem in a vehicle on Aug. 2. A pretrial was set Nov. 7 in Columbiana County Municipal Court.

-- A Salem man called at 3:41 p.m. Friday to request a welfare check on his mother, who resides on Meadow Wood Drive, Butler Township. A deputy spoke with the woman, who was fine.

-- Deputies were dispatched at 8:11 p.m. Thursday to Salem Alliance Road, Butler Township for a welfare check. The person advised they needed to go to a hospital. Damascus EMS transported the person to Salem Regional Medical Center in Salem.

-- A man from Grant Street, Center Township came to the sheriff's office at 5:42 p.m. Thursday and requested a report on file that someone entered his residence somehow and moved his security camera. Nothing was missing.

St. Clair Township

-- Officers responded to the Verizon Store on July 30 after receiving a call from a female saying someone placed and iPhone in her car while she was in the Verizon store. The female had accidentally grabbed an employee's phone when she left the store.

-- Farin R. Weltner, 47, address not provided, was arrested for petty theft after officers were called to Walmart for a female shoplifter on July 30. Weltner failed to pay for 18 items totaling $145.44. She was released with a summons to appear in court.
