-- Officers responded to the 600 block of West Pershing Street at 11:20 a.m. Tuesday for a wellness check. The caller advised they were going to be in the hospital for an extended period of time and provide care for a family member with known health issues. Officers were unable to make contact with the person at that time, and adult protective services and the caller were notified. The caller advised they would contact family from out of state and make arrangements for them to possibly look after the person.
-- Officers responded to the 2000 block of Pearce Circle at 10:48 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a suspicious vehicle. Officers located the vehicle and spoke with the occupants, advising them of the complaint, who advised they were waiting on their boss to arrive so they could get to work.
-- Officers spoke to a woman at the police department at 10:43 p.m. Wednesday regarding an incident that took place prior in the evening. Officers collected information and advised the matter would be investigated.
-- Officers responded to the area of Jennings Avenue and West Eight Street at 9:37 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a reckless operator. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.
-- Officers responded to the 700 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 9:22 p.m. Wednesday for a report of multiple people appearing they were about to fight. Officers spoke with several people, finding the matter to be a verbal altercation, but nothing physical had occurred. Several other people involved left prior to officers' arrival and all parties were advised to be civil for the remainder of the evening.
-- Officers responded to the 200 block of East Pershing Street at 4:27 p.m. Wednesday for a report of recovered medical needles. Officers took the needles and disposed of them.
-- Officers responded to the 100 block of Jennings Avenue at 12:24 p.m. Wednesday for a wellness check. Officers spoke with the person who advised everything was fine.
-- Officers responded to the 200 block of Continental Drive at 11:48 a.m. Wednesday for a report of theft. The caller advised that a known man had made unauthorized purchases on four separate occasions using the caller's food card. This reportedly occurred once per month over the past four months at a business in the city. The caller also advised of numerous articles of property that the person also allegedly stole. Officers gathered information to be reviewed by a detective.
-- Officers responded to the 1000 block of East State Street at 11:40 a.m. Wednesday for a reckless operator complaint. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.
-- Officers responded to the 500 block of East Pershing Street at 10:12 a.m. Wednesday for a reported suspicious object. Officers collected the object and transported it to the police department to be destroyed.
-- Officers responded to the 1300 block for a wellness check. The caller advised that he was supposed to take a woman to the doctor but was unable to contact her and her door was open. Officers checked the residence but did not locate the woman and were advised by building maintenance that the woman was in the hospital.
-- Officers on patrol in the 800 block of East State Street at 7:33 a.m. Wednesday observed a small dog running loose. Officers were unable to catch the dog.
-- Officers responded to the area of South Broadway Avenue and East Pershing Street at 1:56 a.m. Friday for a possible disturbance with individuals leaving the bar and walking north on South Broadway. Officers checked the area and observed individuals walking but no disturbance nor problems were observed.
-- Officers spoke to a person at the police department regarding an ongoing matter at 1:22 a.m. Friday. Officers collected information and advised them that a report would be on file.
-- Officers responded to the 400 block of East Fifth Street at 11:30 p.m. Thursday for a report of a suspicious vehicle. The caller advised that an unknown vehicle was in her driveway. When officers arrived, the vehicle had already left.
-- Officers responded to the 700 block of East Fifth Street at 11:23 p.m. for a reported hit and skip which occurred at a business on Penn Avenue sometime between 4 and 11 p.m. Officers advised the caller to speak with business management to obtain camera footage for a possible suspect and to contact them if anything was found.
-- Officers responded to the 600 block of East Sixth Street at 11:05 p.m. Thursday for a possible fight. Officers found the matter to only be a verbal dispute between a dating couple and advised them to keep the noise down.
-- Officers responded to the 1200 block of East 11th Street at 8:46 p.m. Thursday for a report of fireworks. Officers spoke with the homeowner, advising them of the complaint, and they denied using fireworks and claimed to be making loud noises to scare birds out of his tree that are reportedly causing damage.
-- Officers responded to a business in the 2800 block of East State Street at 8:08 p.m. Thursday for a reported hit and skip. Officers spoke with staff at the business who advised they would have someone check security footage to possibly identify the responsible party.
-- Officers spoke to a man at the police department at 8:05 p.m. Thursday for a report of telecommunications harassment. The caller advised that his ex-wife who resides in New Mexico was continually calling his cell phone despite being told to stop. Officers contacted the ex-wife and advised them to cease communication or telecommunications harassment charges could be filed.
-- Officers were flagged down in the 800 block of East Fourth Street at 7:37 p.m. Thursday for an abandoned bicycle. Officers were advised a juvenile had abandoned a bicycle in the weeds in an alley. Officers recovered the bicycle and transported it back to the police department.
-- Officers responded to a business in the 400 block of South Lundy Avenue at 6:46 p.m. Thursday for a wellness check on a woman reported to have been screaming and talking to a wall. Officers located the woman who advised that she was okay and was upset about what another patron at the store had said to her and denied needing medical attention.
-- Officers responded to the 500 block of East State Street at 4:10 p.m. Thursday for a hit and skip. An eastbound vehicle on East State Street side-swiped a vehicle driven by Sherry Weyandt-Jackson and continued eastbound. Photos were taken to document the damage to Jackson's vehicle and checked the area but were unable to locate the other vehicle. Officers later located the vehicle in question, which had struck another vehicle in the 1300 block of East Pershing Street at 5 p.m. which was parked and unoccupied. The driver, Robert Little, was cited for failure to control, and officers were able to observe damage and matching paint transfer that would have been caused from the hit and skip, and further citations for that crash are pending.
-- Officers responded to the 1800 block of Brooklyn Avenue at 2:30 p.m. Thursday for a wellness check on a person reported to be stumbling. Officers found the person to be okay but had consumed alcoholic beverages earlier in the day and was walking home. Officers assisted the person with transportation to their residence a few blocks away.
-- Officers responded to the 2300 block of Lexington Avenue at 11:28 a.m. Thursday for a report of suspicious activity. Officers were advised of a person taking photos of a house, and upon arrival were advised that the person had left the area in an unknown direction.
-- Officers responded to the 1800 block of East State Street at 11:06 a.m. Thursday for a report of a person in a motorized wheelchair riding in the middle of the roadway. Officers spoke with the person advised them to stay on the sidewalk.
