Salem
– A Hanoverton resident reported at 4:41 p.m. Saturday that while at work in the 200 block of Continental Drive Friday, someone stole $900 from out of her purse. The matter is under investigation.
– Officers responded to the 2100 block of Southeast Boulevard at 4:03 p.m. Saturday where a resident reported the mother of his children had entered his house and started to get physical with him. The matter was forwarded to the prosecutor’s office for review.
– Police responded to the area of South Ellsworth Avenue and West Pershing Street at 2:21 p.m. Saturday in reference to a man showing signs of drug use. Officer found the man who admitted to recently using drugs. A burnt glass pipe used for smoking meth was recovered. Medical personnel arrived and the man was transported to the Salem hospital. Charges are pending for drug paraphernalia.
– An officer responded to the 700 block of West State Street at 12:42 p.m. Saturday where an Andrew Avenue reported her unruly juvenile had run away from home, but was currently in her vehicle. The officer spoke with the juvenile and advised the resident to contact Perry Township police if there are any further issue once returning home.
– An officer responded to the 100 block of North Madison Avenue at 12:50 p.m. Saturday where a resident reported her husband keeps leaving items lying around, cluttering their house. She was advised that the matter is not criminal and that she and her husband will have to work it out.
– Kenneth R. Alesi, 80, Salem, was cited for failure to yield from a driveway following a two-vehicle crash in the 2400 block of East State Street at 11:58 a.m. Saturday in which he was attempting to turn westbound onto East State Street from a private drive, striking an eastbound pick up pulling a trailer driven by Stephen T. Nezevich, 25, Lisbon. A passenger of Alesi was transported by ambulance to the Salem hospital with minor injuries.
– Cristobal Castro Tomas, 21, was cited for driving under suspension following a traffic stop in the 2800 block of East State Street at 11 a.m. Saturday.
– An officer responded to the 400 block of Sharp Avenue at 10:03 a.m. Saturday in reference to a possible water line break and found a pool of water and steady water flow consistent with a minor leak. The water department will be notified.
– An officer responded to the 1100 block of East State Street at 7:43 a.m. Saturday in reference to a small child who had been in the store unattended for a half hour. The officer was familiar with a possible residence for the child, and the mother was located.
– A patrolling officer at 1:55 a.m. Saturday observed a man yelling in the middle of the roadway in the area of East State Street and Penn Avenue. The officer discovered the man was having a mental health crisis and the man was transported by ambulance to the Salem hospital for evaluation.
– An officer responded to the 500 block of Aetna Street at 1:22 a.m. Saturday where a resident reported an intoxicated man entered his back yard, then walked into the wooded area behind his house before walking around his car, as if he was going to break into it. The resident said the man left the property toward South LundyAvenue. Officers checked the area but were unable to find anyone.
– Officers responded to the 400 block of Ohio Avenue at 1:22 a.m. Saturday in reference to a dispute and found an altercation between household members, with no violence taking place. Both people were to told to separate for the evening.
– A Jennings Avenue resident reported at 10:30 p.m. Friday being harassed by three known women who were making unwanted and derogatory comments toward and about her via social media. She was advised of her options.
– Officers responded to the 1200 block of Southeast Boulevard at 10:29 p.m. Friday to check the well-being of a resident who was unresponsive on the bathroom floor. Medical personnel arrived and the resident was transported to the Salem hospital for treatment.
– An officer responded with medical personnel to the 1200 block of East Pershing Street at 9:12 p.m. Friday in reference to a medical emergency. The officer was not needed and the patient was transported to the Salem hospital for evaluation.
– Officers responded to the 200 block of Ohio Avenue at 8:57 p.m. Friday where a resident reported an unknown man had been standing on his back porch while he was away from the home and he was concerned because his wife and child were at the home alone. Due to a delay in a report being made, officers were unable to find the person in question.
– Officers responded to the 1200 block of East Pershing Street at 8:30 p.m. Friday where a resident reported an unknown woman had entered her home looking for a man. Officers spoke with the person in question, who was still on scene, who said she had received a text from the man wanting a ride and when she knocked on the door, someone said to come in. The man was not at the residence and the resident wanted to pursue charges, but due to conflicting stories, the matter was forwarded to the prosecutor’s office.
– A Merle Road resident reported at 4:55 p.m. Friday her granddaughter, of whom she has custody, was at a friend’s house and texted her that she would not be returning home. A runaway juvenile reported was completed.
– An East Fourth Street resident reported at 2:09 p.m. Friday items have been going missing from her apartment, including some of her medication.
– A Franklin Avenue resident reported at 11:44 a.m. Friday she believes someone has been hacking her phone. She was advised to contact her phone provider and a report would be on file.
– Major Boston, 25, Salem, and Katrina Blough, 21, Salem, were both charged with domestic violence after officers responded to the 100 block of West Pershing Street at 12:14 a.m. Friday in reference to a domestic dispute in progress and found visible marks and bruising on each of them.
– An officer responded to the 1100 block of Benton Road at 11:14 p.m. Thursday after dispatch had been unable to reach anyone at the facility by phone. The officer spoke with an employee who said everything was fine, that a resident had requested an ambulance for a minor injury. Salem first responders were notied.
– Officers responded to the 600 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 11:14 p.m. Thursday in reference to a possible assault, but after speaking with everyone involved found that no assault occurred and the caller wanted two men removed from her property. The men contacted a ride.
– Officers responded to the 1000 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 6:54 p.m. Thursday in reference to illegal dumping, but found that the property owner was not on scene and did not make the complaint. Officers advised the person reporting the incident that the property owner needs to contact officers about the incident.
– Kassie Adler, 33, Alliance, was charged with three counts of theft – two fifth-degree felonies and one misdemeanor – after officers responded to a 2800 block East State Street business at 3:58 p.m. Thursday where she had been caught on security video taking a purse that had been left in a cart, entering a bathroom and leaving with several personal items from the purse including identification cards, payment documents, phones and cash. All the items were returned to the victim.
– Officers responded to the 600 block of East Fifth Street at 2:55 p.m. Thursday where a resident reported having issues with her neighbors and wanted them trespassed from her property. The neighbors were advised.
– A patrolling officer at 1:27 p.m. Thursday observed a water line break in the 1000 block of North Lincoln Avenue. The water department was advised of the issue.
– An unidentified driver was cited for driving under suspension after a patrolling officer at 2:12 a.m. Thursday observed a traffic violation at Vine Avenue and East State Street.
