-- Officers searched East Eighth Street on July 10 for a female who was reported to be carrying a knife. After searching the area several times officers failed to make contact with her.
-- The owner of a nearly 400-pound pig who got loose and was wandering around West Fifth Street while a group of people tried to keep it out of the road on July 10 was advised it the animal was running around again, he would be charged with animal at large.
-- An officer on patrol observed a car parked at the wharf on July 10 at 1:02 a.m., and advised the male sitting the car that the wharf closes at midnight and reopens at 6 a.m.

-- Matthew Chase, age and address not provided, was charged with physical control, reckless operation of a vehicle and having a loaded firearm in the vehicle after police responded to the single vehicle crash he was involved in on Hibbits Mill Road on July 7. Chase told officers he drove off the roadway and down a hill into a wooded area after swerving to avoid striking a vehicle he was passing. Chase appeared to be under the influence and admitted to having a few drinks before driving when officers performed a field sobriety test. Officers also recovered an open container of alcohol from the vehicle.
-- A female called the police department on July 12 to report vandalism to her car. An officer arrived at the car's location in the 300 block of First Street, where the female told him she saw a brick on the ground next to her car and then noticed her windshield was smashed. Officers checked a camera where they saw an unidentifiable person walking and then the window being smashed.
-- Officers are waiting for additional statements to be turned in following a verbal altercation between two females which led to one of the females reporting the other hitting her in the mouth. The female who said she was hit came to the police station and said she was waiting for a friend on July 13 on 11th Street when two females approached her car, opened her door and started yelling at her and one of them slapped her in the mouth.

-- Officers responded to the 100 block of Continental Drive at 10:34 a.m. Monday for a reported scam. The caller provided officers with information and the amount of money that had been taken, and officers advised they would investigate the matter.
-- Officers responded to the 200 block of North Madison Avenue at 8:10 a.m. Monday for a to deliver a message. Officers located the person in question and advised them to contact the Alliance Police Department.
-- Officers on patrol in the area of Hawley Avenue and East Third Street at 1:21 a.m. Monday observed a man inside a vehicle that appeared to be falling asleep. Contact was made with the man, and he was found to be falling asleep in his vehicle just outside his house. The man entered his home.
-- Officers responded to the 600 block of Franklin Avenue at 1:10 a.m. Monday for a wellness check. The caller advised they had been unable to contact the resident for a few days. Officers attempted to contact the resident but received no answer at the door and further investigation show the man no longer lived at the residence.
-- Officers responded to the 400 block of North Union Avenue at 10:44 p.m. for a report of phone harassment. The caller advised multiple numbers with unknown area codes were making contact via text messages that were perceived to be threatening. Further investigation found the numbers to be a scam and the caller was advised to block them.
-- Officers responded to the area of Vine Avenue and Third Street at 10:15 p.m. Sunday for a report of a vehicle swerving into other lanes of traffic. Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop and discovered it to be a matter of distracted driving. The driver was given a warning and sent on their way.
-- Officers responded to the 400 block of West Pershing Street at 7:37 p.m. Sunday for a report of possible shots fired. When officers arrived, they were advised by bystanders that it was fireworks rather than gunfire. Officers did not observe any further fireworks shot off while on scene.
-- Officers responded to the 200 block of East Fourth Street at 9:28 a.m. Sunday to deliver a message for another law enforcement agency. Officers spoke with the resident and advised them to call the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department.
