County Sheriff

-- Columbiana County mental health officials called at 12:58 p.m. Wednesday to request a welfare check on a female at a Y & O Road property, Madison Township, due to her alleged mental state. A deputy spoke to the property owner in the driveway who said the female was evicted a month ago and there were new tenants living there. He did not know where she was located now. Dispatch was asked to notify the mental health case worker of the situation.

-- A woman from East Liverpool Road, Madison Township, talked with a deputy at 7:06 p.m. Wednesday about what she described as a lost set of keys she feared were possibly taken by her son. There was no proof that any criminal act transpired and the deputy recommended a protection order be sought if she wanted to end all communication and contact with the son.

-- A woman on Raley Road, Elkrun Township, reported at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday that a man from state Route 154 was on her property trespassing and she told him to leave.

-- A resident of Edward Circle, Fairfield Township, reported at 11:03 p.m. Tuesday that a woman from the state of Texas was harassing her on the telephone and through social media and was also having other people harass her.

-- Deputies were dispatched at 10:42 p.m. Tuesday to Barnett's Motel, U.S. Route 62, Butler Township, for a disturbance in the parking lot and in the area, but nothing was found.

Highway Patrol

-- Darrin Burson, 56, of West Martin Street in East Palestine was cited for reasonable control at 7:10 p.m. July 13 in Middleton Township after a motorcycle he had been riding failed to negotiate a curve and drove off the right side of the roadway and overturned.

-- Both drivers involved in a Middleton Township crash at 8:15 p.m. July 6 were charged as a result of their actions. Michael J. Halligan, 64, of Harvey Avenue in Lisbon was cited for failure to maintain an assured clear distance after his vehicle rearended a vehicle driven by Kevin Cesmter, no age listed, of Fredericktown Clarkson Road in Negley. Cesmter also was cited for improper stopping in the roadway, as he had stopped in the left lane while talking to some residents of a private home in the neighborhood.

East Palestine

-- Officers made contact at 8:46 p.m. on Tuesday with the owner of an Ohio driver's license that was found in the village. The individual later came to the station to retrieve it.

-- Officers took a report from a man on West North Avenue at 7:57 p.m. on Monday that stated he was assaulted by someone he knew but did not wish to press charges.

-- Officers responded at 5:25 p.m. on Monday to East Clark Street after receiving a report of a young boy setting boxes on fire in the backyard of a residence.

-- Officers responded at 3:34 p.m. on Monday to West Martin Street to a report of a disabled car in an alley that had been there for a number of weeks.

-- Officers arrested Michael Henderson, no age or address provided, on a warrant. No other details were given.
