Officers were able to gain entry into the residence via the maintenance man opening the door, and the female resident was breathing but unresponsive at the time. While tending to her she woke up and was barely able to communicate and she was transported to the Salem emergency room by EMT.
-- Officers responded to the 2200 block of Oak Street at 12:40 p.m. Thursday for a report of solicitors. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the person in question. The person in question did leave a business card at the caller's residence.
-- Officers responded to the 600 block of Euclid Avenue at 12:45 p.m. Tuesday for report of an unruly juvenile. When officers arrived, the juvenile was being unruly and did not want to leave with her mom. The female juvenile then decided that she would leave with her mom.
-- Officers responded to the area of South Lincoln Avenue and East Pershing Street at 11:26 a.m. Tuesday to assist the street department. Officers were advised that things were okay, and they would be leaving soon.
-- Officers spoke with a person at the police department at 11:24 a.m. Tuesday regarding a possible scam. Officers advised the person that the issue was a scam and of some options for dealing with the situation.
-- Officers responded to the 500 block of East State Street at 10:25 a.m. Tuesday for a reported suspicious person. Officers spoke with the person and found nothing suspicious.
-- Amber Riesen, 24, Salem, was cited for assured clear distance ahead after her westbound vehicle on East State Street struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Joshua Early, 44, Salem, at 8:16 a.m. Tuesday.
-- Officers responded to the 500 block of Continental Drive at 8:17 a.m. Tuesday for a report of criminal damage. The caller advised that sometime in the last week an unknown person got into his vehicle and destroyed the steering column, and he needed a report on file for his insurance.
-- Officers responded to the 500 block of East State Street at 3:32 a.m. Thursday for a report of a man seen on security footage possibly stealing a bike. Officers spoke with the man and found that the bike did not belong to him, and the man was advised to put the bike back and was sent on his way.
-- Officers on patrol near the 700 block of East State Street at 2:52 a.m. Thursday observed two men in the parking lot of a business after hours. Officers spoke with them, and they advised they were just passing through and they were sent on their way.
-- Officers responded to the 1400 block of Benton Road at 11:25 p.m. Wednesday to assist Perry Township officers with a possible domestic. The Perry Township officers checked two locations and found the complaint was unfounded.
-- Officers responded to the 600 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 8:57 p.m. Wednesday for a civil standby. A woman was attempting to retrieve her personal property after moving out. When officers arrived, everyone involved was arguing and screaming at each other, and due to nothing getting done they were advised to leave the property and reschedule when things could be more civil.
