-- A deputy was dispatched at 5:41 p.m. Tuesday to the Bargain Store, U.S. Route 62, Knox Township, for a theft report.
-- A man on Crestview Road, Fairfield Township, reported at 5:28 p.m. Tuesday that his landlord keeps unlocking the doors to the residence and people keeping entering the residence and stealing items.
-- A deputy responded at 5:10 p.m. Tuesday to a residence on state Route 14 in Unity Township for a physical domestic altercation between two household family members, with one of them pregnant. An investigation was conducted and domestic violence charges were filed. The report did not note if an arrest was made.
-- A juvenile was reported trespassing at a property on Spillway Road, Hanover Township at 4:04 p.m. Tuesday. Upon a deputy's arrival, the juvenile left.
-- An alarm was reported at 4 p.m. Tuesday on Rainbow Lane Circle, Knox Township. All doors and windows were secure at ground level.
-- Deputies were dispatched at 3:09 a.m. Tuesday to Eagle Pass Golf Course, state Route 172, Hanover Township, for a golf cart observed along the road and shortly after observed along the tree line of a soybean field. Deputies drove the golf cart back to the main entrance of the golf course and saw multiple open doors. A keyholder was contacted and arrived on scene. Nothing appeared to be stolen or tampered with other than the golf cart. Deputies checked the area but didn't find anyone.
-- Deputies were dispatched at 12:47 a.m. Tuesday to the 10000 block of Steubenville Pike Road for a pig in the roadway. Deputies checked the area, but found no livestock in the road.
Salem
-- Officers responded to the 1100 block of East Sixth Street at 10:04 a.m. Monday for a man attempting to make a shelter in the woods. Officers spoke with a man who advised he was making a fort and officers asked him if he owned the property and he advised he did not. Officers advised the man to leave the property.
-- Officers responded with the fire department to the 100 block of West State Street at 3:46 a.m. Monday for a reported drug overdose. The caller advised that there was an unresponsive man lying in the parking lot. The fire department administered three rounds of Narcan and the person in question became responsive and was transported to the Salem Regional Medical Center for medical attention.
-- Officers responded to the 600 block of Jennings Avenue at 10:43 p.m. Sunday for a dispute. A third party requested a wellness check on an intoxicated man. The man in question ran inside when officers arrived and kept looking out of his window. The man would not cooperate even after being told he was not in trouble and a woman known to officers was observed and attempted contact to check her well-being due to a previous report regarding this agency and another. The woman would not open the door but did not seem to be in distress.
--Officers spoke to person at the police department at 12:42 p.m. Wednesday for a report of possible theft at a business in the 2900 block of East State Street. Officers took the information and advised the caller of their options for dealing with the situation.
--Officers responded to the 900 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 12:02 p.m. Wednesday for a warrant check. A resident advised the person in question was out back in the shed and officers took Cameron Yarwood, 44, Salem, into custody without incident and transported them to the Columbiana County Jail.
--Officers responded to the 200 block of Ohio Avenue at 9:47 a.m. Wednesday for a wellness check. Officers spoke with a woman at the residence who advised she was fine and that she was just hung over and her mom was yelling at her. No signs of violence were observed.
--Officers responded to the 900 block of East Sixth Street at 9:07 a.m. Wednesday for a reported theft. The caller advised someone known to them had taken her cell phone and several debit cards from her purse without her knowledge or permission and left the residence on foot. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the person in question. The information will be sent to the prosecutor's office for review of possible charges.
--Officers responded to the 100 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 3:20 a.m. Wednesday for a report of a person to be removed from the residence. Officers spoke with the resident who advised the person in question was no longer there and was welcome into the residence.
--Officers responded to the first block of Court Drive at 12:11 a.m. Wednesday for a report of a group of juveniles in that park after hours. Officers collected information and advised them to move along.
--Officers assisted the Ohio State Highway Patrol with an OVI investigation at the police department at 10:46 p.m. Tuesday. Officers assisted until no longer needed.
--Officers responded to the 600 block of East Ninth Street at 10:05 p.m. Tuesday for a wellness check. The caller advised the person in question was having a possible mental health crisis. Officers spoke with the man, and he advised he was OK. The fire department and EMT responded to assess the man and he signed a medical refusal.
--Officers responded to a business in the 2800 block of East State Street at 8:56 p.m. Tuesday for a report of an irate man screaming and attempting to fight people in the parking lot while using fireworks near a gas pump. While enroute officers were advised that the man was leaving the scene in a maroon Lincoln sedan westbound. Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop on it, speaking with the occupants who claimed that two of them were throwing Bang Snaps at the ground near each other when the caller got upset and began threatening them and they began yelling back. The caller claimed that they began threatening him first after he told them not to throw Bang Snaps near the gas pumps. Nothing physical occurred and nobody wanted to pursue menacing charges.
--Officers responded to the 1700 block of Southeast Boulevard at 8:42 p.m. Tuesday for a report of an attempted breaking and entering of a vehicle. Officers spoke with the caller, neighbors, and the owner of the vehicle who advised that a thin white man believed to be in his 20s with a white shirt, black shorts and brown hair attempted to gain entry to the vehicle but fled northbound to the dead end of Jefferson Avenue towards Ridgewood Drive when he noticed he was being watched. The man didn't gain access to the vehicle a nothing was taken, however, the caller waited 45 minutes before reporting the incident. Officers checked the area but nobody matching the description was located. It was also reported that a man with red hair was observed attempting to gain entry into a house on the same block the day before the report. Officers advised that an extra patrol in the area would be conducted.
--Officers responded to the 300 block of West Second Street at 7:56 p.m. Tuesday for a report of someone looking into vehicles. Contact was made and it was found to be husband and wife looking at the vehicles for sale, which is a common occurrence after business hours, and nothing suspicious was observed.
