Salem
— Officers responded to the 200 block of Ohio Avenue at 11:28 a.m. Tuesday to assist the city health department check a vacant building with a door that appeared to have been kicked in. Officers checked the inside, finding no one.
— Officers responded to the 300 block of Ohio Avenue at 6:55 p.m. Monday in reference to a neighbor dispute and advised everyone involved to stay away from each other.
— Officers responded to the area of Continental and Bentley drives at 5:29 p.m. Monday in reference to a possibly intoxicated person. Officers found the person to be intoxicated and contacted his roommate, who agreed to pick him up. Officers later responded to the 500 block of Continental Drive where the person claimed he felt he was going to die due to his level of intoxication and he was transported by ambulance to the Salem hospital.
— Officers responded to the 900 block of Liberty Street at 4:31 p.m. Monday in reference to a domestic dispute. The complainant reported he did not witness any type of physical violence and that one of the people involved had already left. Officers checked the area but were unable to find the person in question.
— An officer responded to the 700 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 4:04 p.m. Monday where the complainant reported an unknown person had entered the property after hours, getting into a vehicle that was being stored in the parking lot under a tarp. The complainant said nothing was missing, but provided security footage of the incident. The matter is under investigation.
— Officers responded with medical personnel to the 700 block of Superior Avenue at 3:17 p.m. Monday in reference to a dog bite. The victim was ultimately transported by ambulance to the hospital.
— Kayla Clingerman, 37, Youngstown, was charged with drug paraphernalia after officers responded to the 300 block of Penn Avenue at 12:44 p.m. Monday where she was lying in a yard and then attempted to walk away when approached by officers, at which time they discovered she had contraband in her mouth.
— Officers responded to the 900 block of Morris Avenue at 9:53 a.m. Monday where a resident reported someone had taken several items from his yard without his knowledge.
— Officers responded to the 500 block of Walnut Street at 9:08 a.m. Monday in reference to a woman walking in the street yelling. Officers found the woman on the sidewalk not causing a disturbance and she denied needing any medical attention.
— Officers responded with medical personnel to the 1000 block of West Perry Street at 8:04 a.m. Monday in reference to a request for an ambulance. Officers stood by until no longer needed.
— Christopher Gaines, 21, Salem, was charged with theft after officers responded to a 2800 block East State Street business at 5:42 a.m. Monday were he had been confronted about stealing from the store while an employee since February. Gaines fled the business before officers arrived, but later turned himself in.
— Officers responded to the 700 block of East Third Street at 4:23 a.m. Monday to assist the fire department with a stove that had caught fire. Upon arrival, officers found the fire had been extinguished.
— Officers responded to Maple Street at Centennial Park at 10:14 p.m. Sunday in reference to a suspicious person stumbling on the sidewalk. Officers found the woman in question and determined there to be no issues. However, officers issued her a disorderly conduct warning for shouting profanity at them several times.
