— Officers arrested Richard McCoy, no age or address given, at 3:34 a.m. on Sunday and charged him with OVI after observing McCoy’s vehicle taking up four parking spots at the American Legion on Main Street. McCoy was allegedly found unresponsive in the vehicle and it took officers several minutes to wake McCoy up. When he did, he was yelling aggressively and officers reported detecting a strong odor of alcohol.

— Officers responded at 10 p.m. to Washington Street to a report of a disturbance on March 26. Officers found a male subject at the scene, yelling and breaking glass. — Officers responded at 8:46 p.m. on March 25 to a report of a male trespassing on the Greenway Trail parking lot and Norfolk Southern property. Officers made contact with the subject walking north on Washington Street. Officers advised the man that he was trespassing on village and railroad property as no one was permitted at the park after hours and on Norfolk Southern’s property at any time. The man complied with officers and began to walk towards his home.

— Officers investigated at 1:01 p.m. reports that a tree service company was being uncooperative and was in the process of removing a tree in a curb lawn it had not been given permission to remove by the Shade Tree Committee on High Street on March 25. Zoning officials confirmed at the scene that no permission was given nor was the company a registered contractor of the village. Jerry Taylor, owner of Taylor Tree Service, was removing a very large tree that appeared healthy. The roads were not blocked off during the process and the truck did not display proper registration. Zoning officer Gavin Rambo advised Taylor to stop and clean up the area until proper permission was obtained. Taylor then contacted Leetonia Mayor Kevin Siembida by cell phone asking for permission to continue the job. Rambo also contacted the mayor and advised that the company was not authorized to remove the tree nor did the company register with the village. Siembida reportedly advised Rambo to allow the removal of the tree to be completed as they had already started. Taylor later presented proper registration for his vehicle before leaving the area. The zoning office is looking into the matter.
