The caller advised that a woman was supposed to come to their house the day prior but never did, and they were unable to reach them by phone. Officers were able to contact the woman in question and advised them of the complaint.

-- Officers responded to the 900 block of East State Street at 11:22 p.m. Sunday for a report of a light pole in the road. Officers located the pole and contacted Ohio Edison to respond to the location for the downed wires. The pole and the wires were removed from the roadway.
-- Officers responded to the 900 block of West Wilson Street at 10:17 p.m. Sunday for a reported juvenile problem. Officers located the juvenile who was picked up by her father.

-- Officers spoke to a man by phone at 5:05 p.m. regarding an ongoing harassment issue. The caller advised that an unknown person has placed nails in his driveway and has posted messages on social media.
-- Officers responded to the area of North Union Avenue and East Third Street at 4:43 p.m. Sunday for a report of a juvenile sitting in the roadway. Officers located the person in question and spoke with them about the issue. The juveniles were advised of the dangers of their actions.
-- Officers responded with the fire department to the 1200 block of Cedar Ridge Drive at 1:23 p.m. Sunday for a smoke investigation. Officers assisted until no longer needed.
-- Officers responded to the 300 block of Morgan Court at 12:56 p.m. Sunday for a reported animal complaint. The caller advised that there were two dogs running loose around the neighborhood. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the dogs.
-- Officers responded to the 700 block of East Third Street at 5:48 a.m. Sunday for a runaway juvenile. The caller advised that her son had left the house sometime during the night while she was at work. The caller signed a missing juvenile form, and he was entered into LEADS.
-- Officers assisted Ohio State Highway Patrol at 4:19 a.m. Sunday. Officers stood by until no longer needed.
-- Officers responded to the 2200 block of East State Street at 12:48 a.m. Sunday for a report of a suspicious vehicle. Officers spoke with two people in the vehicle and a K-9 free air sniff was conducted with a positive indication. Officers recovered contraband from the vehicle and potential charges are pending BCI lab results. Officers had both passenger caller for a ride due to both subjects not having a valid driver's license.

-- Officers took a report of a runaway juvenile in the 700 block of Prospect Street at 7:36 p.m. Saturday. The juvenile was entered into LEADS, and officers checked the area.
-- Officers responded to the 500 block of South Broadway Avenue at 6:55 p.m. Saturday for a reported person on the ground. Officers observed a young man lying face down on the sidewalk. First responders and EMT were contacted and the man, who was slightly intoxicated, was transported to the hospital for treatment.
-- Officers spoke to a man at the police department at 1:41 p.m. Saturday who advised that he believed his girlfriend had taken some of his personal papers when she left the residence. Officers were able to contact the girlfriend and the papers were returned.
-- Officers responded to the 100 block of Penn Avenue at 12:08 p.m. Saturday for a criminal trespassing report. The caller advised that a person was inside the store who she thought had been previously trespassed for a prior incident. Officers advised the caller that the person had not been trespassed due to him being unable to be identified. The caller advised they understood and would call if they returned.
-- Officers responded to the 1100 block of East Third Street at 9:27 a.m. Saturday for a report of an unresponsive woman. Officers found the woman to be overdosing and they were transported to the Salem hospital.
-- Officers responded to the area of Hawley Avenue and East Third Street at 2:46 a.m. Saturday to assist the Ohio State Highway Patrol with a traffic stop. Officers stood by until they were no longer needed.
--Travis Bailey, 35, Salem, was cited for assured clear distance ahead after his eastbound vehicle on East State Street struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Sara Smith, 59, Salem, at 6:52 p.m. Tuesday.
