The caller advised that approximately 20 minutes prior to the report they observed a man described as roughly 6 feet tall with a thin build stealing tools from a parked truck. The caller confronted the man, who fled the area and was found to have stolen numerous tools valued at approximately $230.
-- Officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of West Wilson Street and North Ellsworth Avenue at 12:14 a.m. Wednesday for a traffic offense. K-9 Simon was deployed to conduct an open-air sniff and indicated narcotic odor, and a probable cause search was conducted. The driver was found to be within his driving privileges.
-- Officers responded to the 800 block of East Sixth Street at 12:02 a.m. Wednesday for a report of suspicious activity. The caller advised a man had knocked on his window then left. It was later found to be a neighbor attempting to contact them regarding a pizza.
-- Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at 11:11 p.m. Tuesday for a traffic violation. Officers spoke with the owner of the vehicle and consent to search the vehicle was given. No contraband was recovered, and the owner was given a written warning for the traffic violation.
-- Officers responded to the 300 block of Newgarden Avenue at 10:11 p.m. Tuesday for a report of open burning. The fire department advised the resident of the rules for fires.
-- Officers responded to the 2500 block of Lexington Avenue at 10:04 p.m. Tuesday for a report of suspicious activity. Officers checked the area finding nobody nor anything suspicious.
-- Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 8:36 p.m. Tuesday. Officers spoke with the occupants, running both through LEADS, finding the passenger had an active warrant out of the Columbiana County Sheriff's Office. Officers confirmed the warrant and took the passenger, Autumn Goodfellow, 27, Salem, into custody, and a free air sniff was conducted by a K-9 officer with a positive indication returned. Officers conducted a search of the vehicle locating contraband in Goodfellow's belongings. Officers transported Goodfellow to the police department for processing and transported her to the Columbiana County Jail for the warrant and drug paraphernalia.
-- Officers responded to the 1900 block of Fairview Avenue at 7:50 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a reckless operator. The caller advised her that a truck behind her was blinding her and that when attempting to get the driver's attention he had turned his high beams on. The caller advised that they felt it was a hazard and officers responded to the address given, advising them of the complaint.
-- Officers responded to the 900 block of South Union Avenue at 7:40 p.m. Tuesday for a parking complaint. Officers spoke with the owner of the vehicle who moved it without issue.
-- Officers responded to the 1400 block of East State Street at 6:54 p.m. Tuesday to check a residence for the Goshen Police District and advised them there was nobody residing at the address.
-- Officers responded to the 600 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 6 p.m. Tuesday for a report of dog at large. Officers located the dog and contacted the humane officers to respond, turning the dog over to them.
-- Officers responded to the 1500 block of Westview Avenue at 12:47 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a suspicious person. Officers located the person in question who advised they were waiting for their daughter to come home. Officers advised her of the complaint.
-- Officers responded to the 600 block of East Sixth Street at 12:09 p.m. Tuesday for a person to be removed. Officers were advised by the owner, who was not at home, that nobody was allowed in the residence. Officers checked the residence, locating nobody.
-- Martha Barton, 77, Salem, was cited for a right of way violation, after her northbound vehicle on Jennings Avenue struck a vehicle driven east on East Second Street by Alison Barker, 35, Salem, at 9:03 a.m. Tuesday. No injuries were reported.
-- Officers responded to the 200 block of East Sixth Street at 6:11 a.m. Tuesday for a reported suspicious person. Officers located the person in question and spoke with them, finding they were waiting on a friend so they could walk to school.
-- Officers responded to the 1000 block of Cleveland Street at 4:23 a.m. Tuesday to follow up for the Akron Police Department. Officers spoke with a man and notified Akron officers.
-- Officers responded to the 200 block of North Cunningham Road at 3:25 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a suspicious person. Officers located the man and advised him not to return, and he advised he would not.
-- Officers responded to the 300 block of Washington Street at 12:50 a.m. Tuesday to assist the Ohio State Highway Patrol with contacting a man involved in a hit and skip. Officers were unable to make contact.
-- Officers responded to the 1100 block of West Perry Street at 12:11 a.m. Tuesday to assist the Perry Township Police Department. Officers stood by during the investigation.
-- Officers responded to the 900 block of East Third Street at 11:38 p.m. Monday for a report of an intoxicated man to be removed. Officers located the man on the porch with the caller who advised she had just broken up with the man hours before calling officers. The man was living at the residence and attempted to go inside but the caller refused blocking the door. The man pushed the door open causing it to strike the caller. The caller's son told the man to leave, and he refused, prompting the son to push the man down, and after getting up the man continued toward the son, and the son struck him. Both advised that at that point they were put into a headlock, and the man had visible bruises around the neck, while the son did not. The man, Jesse Williams, was arrested for domestic violence and transported to the Columbiana County Jail. The son, Dominick Jezek, will have a pending charge of domestic violence.
-- Officers responded to the 800 block of East Third Street at 10:51 p.m. Monday for a report of an intoxicated man making comments of self-harm. The fire department and EMT responded to check on the man, who was willingly transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital by EMT.

-- Officers responded to the area of South Madison Avenue and East State Street at 6:33 p.m. Monday for a report of a suspicious vehicle. The caller advised that the windows were fogged up and wanted to ensure there was not a child or an animal inside. Officers checked the vehicle observing no occupants.
-- Officers responded to the 2700 block of East State Street at 6:11 p.m. Monday for a report of a suspicious vehicle. Officers checked on the occupant who advised that he was just killing time.
-- Officers responded to the 2900 block of East State Street at 3:54 p.m. Monday for a reported theft. The caller advised that three unknown men had entered the store loaded their cart with merchandise and left the store without paying. The person left the parking lot in a black SUV, the matter is under investigation.
-- Officers took a report of an assault that occurred while leaving the Salem High School at 3:30 p.m. Monday. Statements were obtained and the matter will be forwarded to the school resource officer.
-- D'Andre Smith, Salem, was cited for assured clear distance ahead after his southbound vehicle on North Union Avenue struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Gabriel Hare at 2:59 p.m. Monday. No injuries were reported.
-- Officers responded to the 500 block of Continental Drive at 2:54 p.m. Monday for a reported animal complaint. The caller advised that he located a dog tied to a tree in a wooded area near his residence. The humane agent was contacted to take control of the dog.
-- Officers spoke to a woman at the police department at 2:50 p.m. Monday for a report of fraud. The woman advised a company called Moon Pay had withdrawn $700 from her account without her permission. The caller advised she had already contacted her bank to have the money refunded, but she still needed a report on file.
