— Officers responded to the Salem Regional Medical Center at 12:31 a.m. Friday to assist in removing a woman from the property. The person had signed out of the ER against medical advice but was suffering from mental confusion and the hospital wanted her to leave instead of waiting in their lobby. Officers spoke with the woman and were able to get into contact with her family. She was transported to her parent’s residence.
–Officers responded to the 1300 block of south Lincoln Avenue at 11:51 p.m. Thursday for a reported medical call. Officers were advised that a man was bleeding from an unknown location, but upon arrival found that he was suffering from a breathing issue. The Salem Fire Department and EMT responded a short time later and tended to the man.
–Officers responded to the 1100 block of Maple Street at 11:36 p.m. Thursday for a reported domestic dispute. The caller, who was a third party, advised a man and woman who live together got into a verbal altercation that turned physical. Officers were advised by both parties involved that nothing had gotten physical, and the argument was verbal only. The female half left the residence for the remainder of the evening.
–Officers responded to the 2000 block of Monroe Street at 4:58 p.m. Thursday for a report of a stolen vehicle. Officers advised a woman at the residence her vehicle was involved in a car accident, and the driver had fled the scene, with the vehicle located abandoned in an alleyway with heavy damage to the front end. Kaiser Towing removed the vehicle from the alleyway and the woman advised that had last seen the vehicle parked behind her residence around noon that day.
–Officers responded to the 700 block of East Fifth Street at 4:23 p.m. Thursday for a vicious dog complaint. The caller advised his wife had gone out the back door and was met by two black dogs barking at her. The caller advised there had been past incidents with the dogs, but they were never sure of where the dogs lived until that day. Officers spoke with the owner, issuing a verbal warning for letting the dogs outside without a leash.
