— Officers responded to the 1400 block of Maple Street at 12:06 p.m. Tuesday for a juvenile complaint. Officers spoke with four juveniles who admitted to smoking marijuana on park grounds. Officers served the juveniles with trespass forms and contacted their parents about the matter. The juveniles were directed to go home by their parents and officers advised them not to visit the parks again.

— Officers responded to the 900 block of Fair Avenue at 10:56 a.m. Tuesday for an audible alarm. Officers spoke with and checked the interior of the residence with the homeowner, finding that nothing had been disturbed.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of South Broadway Avenue at 1:40 a.m. Tuesday for an assault reported by a third party. The caller advised that a man was seen assaulting a woman. Contact was made with the man who advised he was only using self-defense and the woman in question started the altercation. Officers attempted to speak with the woman, who did not want to speak about the incident. Officers advised them to contact officers at a later time if she would like to speak about the incident. Both subjects involved were separated.

— Officers responded to the 1300 block of East Pershing Street at 1:12 a.m. Tuesday for a report of suspicious activity. The caller advised an unknown noise was heard from the attic of the residence that sounded like a person. Officers checked the residence, finding it to be clear.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Stewart Avenue at 12:20 a.m. Tuesday to speak with the caller about questions regarding their juvenile son. The caller advised the son, who is currently on probation, was reported as a runaway but returned home. Officers provided the caller with their options for handling the situation.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of East Fourth Street at 8:45 p.m. Monday for a report of harassment after receiving concerning text messages. The caller advised a man she knew was sending her messages. Officers spoke with the man, finding that he and the caller were both exchanging derogatory messages, and both parties were advised to cease contact for the remainder of the evening.

— Officers responded to the 1000 block of West Perry Street at 10:02 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a suspicious person. Officers checked the area and several side streets but did not locate the person in question.

— Officers responded to the 2800 block of East State Street at 5:59 p.m. Monday after being advised the Columbiana Police Department was in pursuit of a vehicle. When officers arrived, they were advised that Columbiana officers had ended the pursuit as they were arriving in city limits. Officers were able to locate the vehicle at a later time, and spoke with the driver, whose name was not listed, detaining them, and Columbiana officers responded to take the person into custody.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of East Fourth Street at 4:19 p.m. Monday for a speak with officer report. The caller advised that a man came to her apartment and was yelling at her about being owed money, and that he has swung a baseball bat at her. Officers spoke with the man who appeared to be intoxicated and advised he had knocked on the door and yelled, but that he did not have a bat with him. The woman advised she wanted to be left alone and not bothered anymore. Officers advised the man to stay in his apartment and not bother the caller anymore.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of West Wilson Street at 10:08 a.m. Monday for a reported domestic dispute. Officers spoke with the caller who advised that she had told her ex-boyfriend to leave the residence, and that he had allegedly entered the residence through an unlocked basement door, threw the caller to the ground, stole her phone and fled the residence. While checking the area for the man officers were advised that he had arrived at the police department lobby and alleged that he was the one assaulted at the residence, and he left because he didn’t want to be assaulted again. Both parties gave written statements about the altercation and the matter is under investigation.

— Officers responded to a business in the 900 block of West State Street at 6:18 a.m. Monday for a person to be removed. Officers were advised that a man was sleeping inside and had been there for a while. The person advised officers he would be leaving and departed shortly after.

— Officers responded to the 2300 block of Merle Road at 4:21 a.m. Monday for a reported juvenile problem. The caller advised that her granddaughter had just come home at 4 a.m. and threatened to leave again. Officers spoke with the juvenile and the caller advised the guardians to contact the courts about the juvenile being unruly.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Walnut Street at 1:22 a.m. Monday for a wellness check. The caller advised his friend left work at around 11 p.m. and was taking her friend home when her vehicle had broken down, and nobody was able to contact her. Her phone’s last ping was in the area of North Ellsworth Avenue near the ReStore. Due to the intoxication of all parties nobody could drive to locate them. Perry Township was able to locate the woman and brought her home.

— Officers responded to the area of Rose Avenue and East Fifth Street at 1:16 a.m. Monday for a report of loud music in the area. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate any music.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of East Fourth Street at 12:49 a.m. Monday for a reported neighbor dispute. Officers spoke with both parties and the caller advised that they wanted a report documenting that tires were moved into his parking spot as part of an ongoing issue which the involved parties are going to court to resolve.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 12:05 a.m. Monday for wellness check on a 17-year-old. Officers attempted contact at the residence and by phone but were unable to speak with them.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of East Fourth Street at 9:55 p.m. Sunday for a medical call, where the patient believed something was coming through the ventilation system. The caller was advised to speak with the maintenance department and transported by EMT.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of Woodland Avenue at 9:04 p.m. Sunday for a medical call. Due to a language barrier, it was unknown why the woman in question was unconscious, and she was transported to the hospital.

— Officers responded to the area of East School and East Eighth streets at 8:05 p.m. Sunday for a reported barking dog complaint. The caller thought she heard the dog bark but was not sure for how long. Officers searched the area, but nothing was heard.

— Officers responded to the 1800 block of Shady Lane at 6:12 p.m. Sunday for a reported custody dispute. The caller advised that her ex was the way to get the kids, but his scheduled time was the following day. Officers advised both parties that the department does not dispute custody, but after speaking with both sides, three of the daughters agreed to leave with the father while the fourth wanted to stay with the mother.

— Officers responded with the fire department to the 400 block of Franklin Avenue at 5:01 p.m. Sunday for a reported smoke investigation. Officers stood by until no longer needed.

— Officers responded to the 1600 block of Fairview Avenue at 4:40 p.m. Sunday for a report of a possible scam. The caller advised she had received a text from an unknown person demanding money after being on an adult website. Officers spoke with a member of the Columbiana County Human Trafficking Task Force, who is familiar with the website, and advised that it was most likely a scam from a person overseas. The caller was advised to block the number and stay off the website and contact officers if needed.

— Officers responded to the area of North Ellsworth Avenue and East Sixth Street at 3:21 p.m. Sunday for a report of dog at large. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the dog.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of West Eight Street at 12:15 p.m. Sunday for a civil matter. Officers stood by while a woman retrieved some belongings form her previous residence.

— Officers responded to the 1700 block of Oak Street at 12:01 p.m. Sunday for a reported neighbor dispute. The caller advised their neighbor, who they have had prior issues with and does not want on the property, had walked through their front lawn, opened their mailbox and put an envelope inside. The caller further advised that there is an ongoing issue with the neighbor regarding the property line and a fence in the caller’s back yard. Officers explained that the property line was a civil matter for surveyors and attorneys, and that the mailbox issue could be reported to the local post office, and that should there be any sort of threats or subsequent issues to contact offers at the time.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of Continental Drive at 11:09 a.m. Sunday for a reported neighbor dispute. The caller advised she overheard her neighbors saying they were going to put tape on her door, and that they wanted the incident documented in case there were further issues.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Continental Drive at 10:08 a.m. Sunday for a wellness check on a person observed standing along the roadway for an extended period of time. When officers arrived the person said they had been waiting for a ride which had arrived just after officers.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Stewart Avenue at 4:13 a.m. Sunday for a reported domestic in progress. When officers arrived, they observed a TV that had been thrown in the street, and the caller advised that her 15-year-old son had gotten angry due to her taking a cell phone he was using, and allegedly grabbed her wrist and yelled at her, causing her to fear for her safety due to previous incidents. The son then allegedly kicked out the living room window, threw the TV into the roadway, and fled. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the juvenile. The juvenile was entered as a runaway and the case will be sent to the juvenile prosecutor for review.

— Officers responded to the 1000 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 3:03 a.m. Sunday for a report of an intoxicated person outside screaming. Officers located a man on the ground outside the location highly intoxicated. Officers attempted to identify the man who did not want to provide any identification and was taken into custody for disorderly conduct and obstruction of official business. Upon search incident to the arrest, officers were able to identify the man, Christopher Williams, 33, Salem, and Williams was transported to the Columbiana County Jail.

— Officers on patrol at 11:48 p.m. Saturday observed a vehicle in Centennial Park after hours. The occupants were found to be playing Pokemon Go and officers advised them of park hours and sent them on their way.

— Officers responded to the 1400 block of Ridgewood Drive at 11:29 p.m. Saturday for a reported domestic dispute. Officers spoke with both parties, and due to conflicting stories separated them for the night.

— Officers responded to a business in the 500 block of Jennings Avenue at 6:23 a.m. Saturday for a report of a suspicious vehicle. The caller advised the vehicle had been parked in the parking lot for an extended period of time. Officers located two people asleep in the vehicle who advised they were waiting on a roommate to leave prior to going home and left the area.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of East Pershing Street at 5:03 a.m. Saturday for an alarm activation. When officers arrived, the back door was found wide open, and officers checked the interior of the building, finding nobody within. Officers secured the door with no key-holders responding.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of East State Street at 12:03 a.m. Saturday for a report of a suspicious person. The caller advised that a man came into the Salem Fitness Club acting strangely and walking around before leaving shortly afterwards. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the man.
