— Officers responded to the police department at 9:55 a.m. Sunday for a report of possible counterfeit money. The caller advised that on Friday he had stopped at his bank and given two $50 bills, and when he attempted to use them at the store, was told the money was not real. Officers looked at the bills which appeared to be legitimate. The caller advised that store employee said that the bills did not have the designs that newer bills have. Officers explained that the bills were printed in 1996 and would not have those designs and advised him to take the money back to the bank to be properly checked.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of Woodland Avenue at 1:54 a.m. Wednesday for a reported dog at large. The dog was located on a porch and officers spoke with the owner.

— Officers responded to the area of Stewart Road near Depot Road at 8:37 p.m. Tuesday to assist Perry Township officers with a traffic Stop. Officers stood by while Perry Township officers conducted the traffic stop.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of West Eighth Street at 7:23 p.m. Tuesday for a reported domestic dispute. The caller advised her ex would not give her their child’s clothing. Officers advised her previously that the department does not dispute property and that they would need to take action through the courts. Officers did speak with the man who ultimately agreed to give the clothing back.

— Officers responded to the area of Depot Road near Stewart Road at 6:18 p.m. Tuesday to assist Perry Township officers with a traffic stop. Officers stood by until no longer needed.

— Officers spoke with a man and another witness at the police department at 6:11 p.m. Tuesday in relation to a possible hit and skip accident they observed at a business in the 900 block of West State Street. They advised that they observed a white vehicle, which was possibly a Nissan Altima, strike the rear of a Chevy Silverado truck, which then left the scene south on Georgetown Road. They advised that they followed the truck and took a picture of the plate, which they provided officers with, and returned to the business to attempt to get the plate of the other vehicle but it had already left the area.

— Officers responded to the 1100 block of Jefferson Avenue at 5:58 p.m. Tuesday for a complaint of a water line break. Officers observed a water line break in the caller’s yard and the water department was notified.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of Benton Road at 4:49 p.m. Tuesday to assist Perry Township officers with a report of a possible burglary. Officers assisted Perry Township officers with their investigation until no longer needed.

— Officers responded to the 900 block of Jennings Avenue at 3:56 p.m. Tuesday for a report of several girls yelling. Officers were advised that two girls had been there a short time earlier yelling about a personal property issue and left the area prior to the officer’s arrival. The resident requested the women not return to the residence, and upon locating them at one of their residences, they advised they understood. The dispute was regarding an ex-boyfriend of one of the two girls who was now dating a resident at the Jennings property that allegedly has property that does not belong to him and the girls wanted to confront him about the property, but he was not present at the time.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of South Broadway Avenue at 2:57 p.m. Tuesday for a report of theft. The caller advised that an unauthorized transaction had been made on his bank account and he needed a report for his bank’s fraud department.

— Officers responded to a business in the 2800 block of East State Street at 12:23 p.m. Tuesday for a reported shoplifter. Employees advised a woman was seen attempting to leave the business with multiple items without paying. Officers observed security of the incident, and the woman, whose name was not listed, was charged with theft with a court summons to follow at a later date. The woman was also issued a trespass notice from the business.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 6:56 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a man asking for help that hung up the phone. Officers found the man to be having a medical emergency and the fire department and EMT responded and transported the man to the Salem Regional Medical Center.

— Officers responded to Walmart at 5:25 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a possible electrical fire. There was no fire showing when they arrived and officers stood by while the fire department investigated.
