— Officers responded to the 200 block of Ohio Avenue at 11:50 p.m. Sunday for a report of people outside fighting. Officers observed a shirtless man yelling at someone and as officers approached, one went inside. The shirtless man had blood on his torso and was missing his top three teeth and denied medical attention. He advised that he was walking home when he asked the other man if he had a “device to smoke weed” when he was told no, he smashed a glass bottle and then was struck multiple times by the other man. The other man advised that the shirtless man was yelling and making comments toward him and his girl and then came at him. Neither party wanted to pursue charges at that time.

— Officers responded to the 1900 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 10:52 p.m. Sunday for a report of a possibly intoxicated driver. The caller advised the vehicle was traveling south on North Ellsworth from the U.S. Route 62 bypass. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.

— Officers responded to a business in the 2800 block of East State Street at 10:29 p.m. Sunday for a report of theft. Asset protection advised a man was seen using a tag from a cheaper pair of boots at self-checkout, with a charging device hidden inside the more expensive boots. Employees confronted the man, recovering the boots and device, and the man, whose name was not listed, left in a vehicle with the plate being noted by employees. Officers were able to identify the man, and attempts were made to locate him at his last known address and were mad aware that the man was currently homeless. A warrant would be issued for the man.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Franklin Avenue at 9:23 p.m. Sunday for a reported domestic dispute. The caller advised her juvenile son had beat up his younger brother. Officers took photographs of the injuries and had witnesses fill out statement forms. The juvenile, whose name was not listed, was placed under arrest for domestic violence and later transported to the Tobin Center.

— Officers responded to the 1100 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 6:57 p.m. Sunday for a report of suspicious activity. The caller advised that a light inside the residence and garage continued to flash on and off. Officers spoke to the homeowner who advised everything was fine.

— Officers responded to the 900 block of East Fifth Street at 4:41 p.m. Sunday for a reported explosion. Officers did not find any issues.

— Officers responded to the 700 block of East Third Street at 2:49 p.m. Sunday for a reported criminal trespass. The caller advised that someone was in the vacant side of the neighboring duplex. Officers checked the building, but nobody was located.

— Officers spoke to a woman at the police department at 2:11 p.m. Sunday for a reported violation of a protection order. The woman advised that she had a protection order against a person who had violated it by approaching her in the 1000 block of North Ellsworth Avenue. Officers obtained a written statement from the woman and responded to the area and requested to see video for the time of the incident. Officers were advised that all personnel that could view the video were not available but would make arrangements to get the video to officers and further investigation is pending.

— Officers responded to the 2400 block of East State Street at 12:38 p.m. Sunday for a report of a person to be removed. Officers spoke with the store manager and woman in question. The manager advised that the woman in question was being disruptive inside the store and that she behaved similarly in the past. The woman was advised that she was no longer permitted in the store and would be charged if she returned. The woman advised that she understood and left the area without issue.

— Officers responded to the 2500 block of Bentley Drive at 10:02 a.m. Sunday to assist a possibly combative person. Officers stood by until the person was transported by ambulance.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Stewart Avenue at 6:37 p.m. Sunday for a report of a runaway juvenile. The juvenile’s mother also advised that they had stolen a cell phone from the house. Officers spoke to the owner of the phone who filled out a written statement for officers and advised that he would like to pursue charges.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Stewart Avenue at 6:11 a.m. Sunday for a report of a runaway juvenile. The caller advised her son was last seen at around 3 a.m. that day at the residence, and when she checked on him a short time later his window was open and he was gone. The caller also advised that she contacted his friends and they have not seen him. The proper paperwork was filled out and the juvenile was entered into LEADS by dispatch as missing.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of South Howard Avenue at 2:37 a.m. Sunday for a report of a suspicious vehicle that the caller advised had been sitting outside her residence for approximately 10 hours. The vehicle was located and found to be involved in an incident earlier in the day and parked there and was not on the caller’s property. The vehicle was unoccupied.

— Officers responded to a business in the 400 block of South Broadway Avenue at 2:20 a.m. Sunday for a report of an intoxicated man. Officers spoke with the man outside the business who advised he had an altercation with his brother who had already left and was struck in the face. An unknown man put the brother in a choke hold, was removed by others at the bar, and then left the scene. The man advised he did not wish to pursue charges against his brother.

— Officers responded to the 1100 block of East State Street at 9:58 p.m. Sunday for a report of a man standing outside the store. Officers spoke with the man who is known to work for the store and he advised he was just waiting for a ride.
